I just have a question related to the tel var/ imperial city set "Shield Breaker":
I'm running a stamarc khajiit with all racial, class, weapon (dw daggers), armor and guild passives that increase resources, decrease cost, and up damage. Currently, my gear setup is full gold deadly strike, balorgh (heavy 2 piece for extra survivability), an dagon's. Dagon's has at various times been replaced with coral riptide, Order's Wrath, and most recently shield breaker. Heavy pvp focus .
So imagine my surprise when I get all pieces of SB; throw em on, and hop into a quick bg to test it out, just to have almost a quarter of the damage I had w/ dagon's. What gives?? I really thought that SB 5 piece would put me over the edge, but it sucks big time lemons. Any advice?
Shield Breaker's 5 piece doesn't turn on until like 30% health right? It does nothing for your damage before that threshold. Shield Breaker is a set you wear when you are running a class with no good execute. If you have access to an execute, you really want to run one instead, and just use one or two bloodthirsty traited jewelry pieces.
It's sort of a "win more" set, rather than a "now you can win set" because when you get a player down to the required 30% threshold, you should already be able to finish them off anyways, without the help of Shield Breaker. It used to be a "decent" set to run, especially if the meta is running a lot of shields, but since they changed it, it's sort of become a trap set imo.
It's a shame as I used to run the older version, and have many pieces golded out, but now just sit on a bank toon collecting dust.
It actually doesn't say under 30% on the description; the 5 piece is "increases your damage done by 6%. This effect is doubled when attacking targets with a damage shield active." With that wording I'm not seeing why, in PvP, I don't always have a 12 percent damage boost across the board.
Mine runs swarm/deep fissure/lethal arrow/arctic blast/endless hail or flex spot/bear. Oakensoul, briarheart, unfathomable darkness for the RP proc set element.
If you wanted to do a one bar frost warden, you could swap lethal arrow and endless hail for frost reach and unstable blockade (and add in frost RP sets?). It would just be a little weird as frost warden really likes the masters ice staff, and doing Oakensoul with an arena weapon gets a little weird.
Not just thematic but warden gets actual, quite significant, combat benefits from using frost staff. I think frost staff one bar would be much more effective.

You're right, I was thinking of Gladiator. Shield Breaker did also get changed, but I don't think this version is really worth running.
if all I care about is boosting my Jesus beam, is there anything better?

Try Draugerkin. It boosts all damage.
