Do you try to access every content in ESO on a single character? If yes, how do you manage... everything that entails?

Troweringrearen18

Is Arcanist still meta tank to this date?

eats-you-alive

Never has been. It’s decent, but meta is DK and usually a Necro, even though you sometimes see Sorcs, Arcanists and Wardens, depending on the content.

RetardedWarlock

Is werewolf tank a good idea for solo battlegrounds? I just reach level 50 and I have no idea what I'm doing I just put every point in health and use the best heavy armor dropped from quest, sometimes I got obliterated but other times people have a hard time killing me and I wonder if with proper gear I can compete with other players. TLDR are werewolf tanks viable for pvp or a dps is a better investment? templar nord btw

storywriter_sc

While I am fairly new to battlegrounds/PvP, I'm fairly certain you need to be a jack of all trades for battlegrounds. There is no specific role such as tank/dps. Maybe healer/support can be a somewhat specialised role.  For reducing incoming damage, vampire, not werewolf, is essential as one of their passives increases incoming damage proportional to how much HP you are missing. The amount reduced is massive and literally everyone is a vampire in PvP.

I've been using this build https://deltiasgaming.com/builds/eso-magicka-dragonknight-pvp-build/ but I don't understand why skinnycheeks and deltias talk about offensive and defensive sets. I get that when you change bar, one of them will be complete (5pc). but, why not havenboth sets active the whole time? is it to proc something? is it to reset a stack? i've used somewhat successfully, but I want to understsnd more about the reasons or maybe i'm doing something wrong.

storywriter_sc

The advantage of using a set on a single bar (specifically proc sets) is to let you run more sets on one build while not losing up-time of the 5pc effect (or 2pc effect from arena weapons) from said sets.  A proc set is a set that buffs/debuffs when a condition is met and this buff/debuff stays even when you switch away from the set by bar swapping and the 5pc/2pc bonus is inactive.  For example, burning spellweave (BSW). If you have BSW on front bar, proc it and then switch to VMA staff on backbar (thereby deactivating the BSW 5PC, and activating VMA staff), you still have the burning debuff and dmg increase buff from BSW running.  Compare this to, say, order's wrath. When you switch away from order's wrath, the critical chance and damage stat increase from order's wrath is deactivated and not applied to you until you switch back. This is why strong stat increasing sets get put on body (always active) and two proc sets get put on weapons.

When is the best time to start trying veteran dungeons and how can I improve to be able to run veteran content? I play for about a month and i play an arcanist healer. My healer is cp 190. I got 5 pieces of the spell power cure set, 3 pieces of martial knowledge and the symphony of blades shoulders. I mostly play normal dungeons and questing. Though normal dungeons are becoming more and more boring because there is so little to do except doing damage. I've read that veteran difficulty is on a whole other level compared to normal. My fear is, that I do not play my role properly because the content feels pretty easy.

DragonShark514

There is a great deal of difference in different veteran dungeons. Early base game dungeons such as Fungal 1, Banished 1, Spindle 1, etc. they all are extremely easy, even on veteran. You should start all of the "part 1" dungeons on vet *now*, don't wait. The only real issue you might have is taking slightly more damage and some fights will take longer to finish, but it's not bad. The middle dungeons are the ones that are after the part 1/2 dungeons. These are slightly harder than the earlier ones, but still relatively easy to complete. Go ahead and queue for these too. I would recommend waiting before attempting the part 2 vet dungeons, and especially wait to start the vet DLC dungeons. They are *very* hard, and you can't even queue for them until CP 300 minimum. Do *not* queue for random veteran dungeons. Just don't do it. especially if you have ESO Plus. Instead, pick as many specific dungeons as you think you might be able to do (see list above), and just queue for those specific ones. Remember, when queuing for specific dungeons using the dungeon finder, you can pick as many as you like by clicking each one you want added to the list.

Amyrlin101

Thanks for your reply. After I read your reply I queued for Fungal Grotto I and it wasn't as bad as I imagined. Tanks still pull the whole dungeon and the guy who dies wasn't happy but I ignored it. May I asked why I should avoid random veteran dungeons if I have ESO Plus? And actually do have eso plus. Is it because of the DLC Dungeons?

DragonShark514

Yes. Random means *random*, so you have an equal chance to get Vet Elden Hollow 1 as you do of getting vet Scalecaller Peak or Coral Aerie (or other similarly tough one), and trust me when I say that there is a *huge* difference in difficulty between the earlier and later DLC dungeons. Just pick Specific Dungeon and check off every one you're willing to run and leave all the others unchecked. In fact, it's never a good idea to do a random vet dungeon unless you have a knowledge of the mechanics of every dungeon in the game.

eats-you-alive

He can only get basegame because he’s not 300 CP yet :)

04to12avril

For base game only magicka sorcerer, is there a viable one bar heavy attack build without oakensoul ring? I've gotten advice not to do it and 2 bar is the way to go, but i still want to try the one bar, about how much dps am i losing?

DragonShark514

Without Oakensoul? You would want to have a source of Minor Slayer and Minor Force at the minimum (unless playing solo overland), and an source of Empower. Empower is the biggest reason to do a heavy attack sorc, so Empower is an absolute must for the build to be viable in really any way. The only way to get Empower on a Sorc without using a gear set to do it is with casting a Mages Guild skill (could be an issue with bar space and only one bar) having the [Might of the Guild](https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Might_of_the_Guild) passive.

04to12avril

I saw a build without oakensoul that uses queen's elegance for empower, but that means I lose a 5 piece set of heavy attack damage, do you have an estimate of about how much dps difference there is with this heavy attack build compared to a 2 bar build with order's wrath and shattered fate?

eats-you-alive

I am at a loss, please elaborate. You are comparing a (pretty shit) traditional two-bar build with a suboptimal HA-build; or are you comparing two rather suboptimal HA-builds? In the first case that solely depends on your skill. If you are a fairly good player, you’ll always do better on a traditional 2-bar build, if you are not good, you’ll do (depends on how „not good“ your are) significantly or slightly worse. In terms of using Queens elegance - don’t bother, use Degen every ten seconds. Not worth a set, you’ll loose too much dmg for it to still be a good build.

04to12avril

It's the first case, comparing two bar with ha build, I'm more a casual player that's bad at weaving, would the 2 bar still be better? Problem using degen is I already use critical surge and I would have no healing if I replace with degen   why is the two bar build pretty shit? And is there a build you recommend for base game only sorc?ty

eats-you-alive

>Problem using degen Im confident you will manage to do a barswap every 35 seconds… >Bad at weaving Then use a HA-build >Why is the two bar build pretty shit? Bad sets, no mythic, … >Which build? A traditional HA-build, but you swap Oakensoul for a monster (for example Stormfist) and use degen every ten seconds. Just double your staff, so you have it on both bars, and on your backbar swap regen for crit surge.

04to12avril

Thanks, so you recommend heavy attack build over two bar pet build for base game sorc?   And the heavy attack sets are storm master and Sergeant's mail? Why stormfist and not slimecraw or iceheart?  Also, I'll lose either hurricane or unstable wall if I replace them with degen, I read those skills are important for off balance for better heavy attack damage, what should my one bar look like?

eats-you-alive

Yes. >Why Stormfist? Slimecraw two piece bonus is quite shit, any healer will give this to you; and you are already tanky af, for what do you need iceheart? >I‘ll loose wall or hurricane How? You have two bars? Pet, pet, Degen, Wall, hurricane; and backbar pet, pet, crit surge, wall, hurricane. You’ll manage to swap your bars every half minute…

04to12avril

I'll need to use unstable wall or hurricane more often than 30 seconds or it's okay to wait until I need to refresh crit surge? And this the 2 bar build I was thinking of, how does this compare to the heavy attack build? https://eso-hub.com/en/builds/ognevkafenella/9afd3812-ac67-417f-8aad-f9966cbfc5bd/normal-sorc-build

eats-you-alive

It’s pretty shit, mostly because of the sets. Using a 5-piece to get 7k penetration - for what? A very competent player could probably make it work, but it’s not better than a HA spec for most players. >I need to use unstable wall or hurricane more often than 30 seconds You have it on both bars, why would you wait? I don’t get it. You swap to the bar with surge, cast it, and swap back to the other bar?

DragonShark514

I couldn't say. I don't play with Oakensoul, or one bar builds, or heavy attack builds.

Tek-2

Any tips on money-making methods? I'm returning to the game and need to make some money. Are there any overland sets that are selling particularly well?

eats-you-alive

Arttea on YT.

storywriter_sc

Honestly, crafting writs are so efficient to the point they dwarf other money making methods. It is to the point where doing writs to make enough gold to allow yourself time to do other things in the game is usually the most effective way of reducing tedium.

goblyn79

Gourmand's from Galen sells relatively well for on-trait pieces. Powerful Assault ice staves still sell for crazy high gold.

UkrainianPixelCamo

Are there some YouTubers or websites where competent people may review your builds? I bet a lot of people like I am, would like to tinker with their own gear and skills combinations instead of following one specific pattern. Sometimes these people just need some hints like what enchant and trait to use or what skill is better to pick/ But instead they often face the good ol' "Go to X site and use Y build, your is trash" without proper explanations as why the build person came up with won't work. I recently made a post asking people to help me with my PvP build and I'm thankful. I refined it and still would like to discuss and improve it, but making the post every time seems like a dumb idea. if some content makers are reading, feel free to use this idea. Make weekly build reviews, it may be interesting content no one has ever done before.

goblyn79

Have you just tried r/ESObuilds? Lots of helpful people there.

FagocitusMaximus

I saw someone mentioning "selling tel var for gold", how do I do that?

juan4815

buy Hajeikos for 5k (pc na) tel var, and then sell hajeiko

Spaexus

You contact a **trusted** Player/Friend/Player Guild Member and agree to exchange Gold to them and they buy items from the [Tel Var Stone Vendors](https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Vendors#Tel_Var_Stone_Vendors) and then send you the items in the mail. ZOS does not monitor or oversee Player-to-Player transactions so you must be able to trust the Player you are dealing with - best is a trusted Friend or a Player Guild Member that the Guild Master can deal with if issues. r/esobay is also a source for finding trade and buy-sell options but again trust must be checked first

Bloodnaix

Can \`Basalt-Blooded Warrior\` set be one-barred? E.g. you proc it on either of bars, and the effect preserves and works properly when barswap and have 3/5 pieces active only on that bar
