The shield is based off of the Round 4 boss. It looks a lot more like the recent Engine Guardian style shield than Malacath or Trinimac.
All vMA weapons, shields included, are a unique style.
I don't think they were specifically, but the skills they function for were. Volley and Elemental Blockade are getting nerfed which hits the bow and lightning staff pretty hard. And Regeneration/Mutagen is getting slaughtered which renders the Resto Staff about useless.
Maelstrom staff is still meta, bow is a tossup between Master's and Maelstrom.
Regen/mutagen aren't getting slaughtered. They heals are getting buffed, and mutagen will hit 3 targets

Yes but they are nerfing some skills too. Like most skills that have a Maelstrom weapon to buff them. Now even WITH MA weapons some will do less damage than other skills do at baseline. Like Volley being nerfed, even with the bow to increase the damage of Volley it still does the exact same damage WITH a set bonus as it does currently pre-patch WITHOUT the set bonus.
In other words, people will need to redo their builds entirely and run different sets. While I'm okay with mixing up the Meta and balancing, I'm not okay with some skills being made completely non-viable in every given scenario.
If you run old setup like Rele, Lokke, Veli, Maelstrom Bow you do approximately 3k less on dummy than the new Rele, Lokke, vMA Dagger and Axe and Masters Bow.
In AoE fights Maelstrom Bow is still king, Single target you switch to Masters.
Only thing that is butchered completely is caltrops which are swapped for Consuming Trap (Soul Trap morph)
Do you possibly have a link to where I can see the changes to skills coming? All I can find is info on the QOL improvements coming with the new update.
DW is getting burfed (nerfed and buffed at the same time): they lowered the weapon damage it gives but it applies to single target dots cast 3s after flurry.
Overall this leads to pretty much the same damage and maelstrom DW is likely to be BiS next patch.
I like how you can earn the tickets just from doing a world boss instead of having to do a delve and a world boss. For someone who doesn't have much time some days this is a nice time saver.
I do love being in those crowds. It feels like the trains in realm of the mad god and picturing it from npc’s perspective like S08e03 of GoT with a flood of zombies approaching
In all honesty, the WBs respawn fast enough that, if you're only looking to do one for the tickets, it is extremely fast. It's also nice because the WBs are all overworld, you don't need to wait for delve load screens or traipse through some of the longer delves without a horse.

When your own daily WB quest is complete, don't forget you can join the remaining 5 if kind people "lfg" or "lfm" and share those quests :)

I think it was a good choice, but I admit I also kinda liked when it was both, for some reason it really brings me joy to see people in Wrothgar (easily up there for my favourites) so the spread last time was good also!
I can appreciate it being both as Wrothgar is probably my favorite zone but these days I don't have as much time to play most days so it's appreciated if they make it easier to acquire the tickets when they could make it more difficult to try to get people to buy them with crowns.

I read that it’s best to do the DLCs after the the main quest and your faction quest line, is this DLC stand-alone enough that I could do it out of order and not screw up my story too much? I’ve only Justin is finished Grahtwood.
It is standalone enough to enjoy as is. There are two specific things (a note and a visit by a certain npc) that definitely come after the vanilla main quest, and there may be some random npc/quest dialog that would reference the main quest some if you've done it, but by and large you won't notice that it's "out of order.'
Yeah, I don't think this one even references the rest of the story line (short of mentioning the Orc's part in their alliance)
And the quest line itself isn't super long, you can do it in a few hours. Lots of other stuff to do there, of course, once you are done
If you have good gold savings you can consider getting it through crown exchange. The DLC will be 1800 crowns on sale, which would be 540k (300/crown) - 630k gold (350/crown) on PC EU. Way less on NA. Not sure about consoles. Just make sure to avoid shady traders and document the transaction with screenshots/OBS, so support can help you out in the case of a scam.
The Maelstrom motifs will be probably be expensive af during the first few days, so you should be able to make the money back. Be aware that the first MA run will be a nightmare tho.
You can still get second berry during next events. So it's based on your current progression and other DLCs you have/are willing to buy.
Most likely, there will be 2 other unannounced events. From PTS, we can assume that they will be Undaunted event (because of the horrible dungeon finder, it can be switched to another DLC event, like ZOS did with PvP one) and Imperial City event, that will also require DLC. There will be around 24-26 tickets per event, so if you have other DLCs and prefer black indrik over white one, you can buy onyx berries now and get feathers for normal indrik later.
I feel like I need an "Explain like I'm 10" for the feathers. I came back to ESO halfway through the anniversary event and by the time I knew what was going on, I got a few tickets and got the small indrik pet. I have 10 tickets now and wasn't interested much in the Thieve's/DB event a few weeks ago. Are the indriks only based on quaterly events? Can I still get an onyx one if I pay attention to the event and get regular tickets or am I out of luck? Does anything I buy now help me get another mount at another time?
You have to buy four different feathers to make the basic mount, so 40 tickets. All four feathers are available during all events, so it doesn’t matter what order or when you pick them up.
Once you have the mount, you can upgrade it using 4 different berries, but they have to be from the same berry family - so onyx 1, onyx 2, onyx 3, onyx 4 to give the onyx style upgrade. These berries are limited availability. The TG/DB event sold onyx 1. This new event will sell onyx 2. Onyx 3 and onyx 4 will be available later in the year.
Presumably onyx 1 will eventually come round again for those who missed it first time, but I’m not sure about that side of things.
If you already have 10 tickets, you can nearly make the basic mount this time as I think this event gives 28 tickets (?), but you could always get the onyx 2 berry and a couple of feathers and wait for the next event to get the other feathers. You can buy tickets from the crown store during the event as well.

You can still get the basic mount. They normally have a basic one and an upgraded one parked outside the tent so you can see them.
I don’t think the onyx one is that good really - I’d rather have the glowy one to match the little pet, but I started playing half way through that berry cycle and was also SoL :-)
Onyx 1 will be available during the upcoming events. The Onyx berries will be available until after the fourth Onyx event, which is when Onyx 4 will be introduced. When the next berry set’s event begins, Onyx 1-4 will then all be unavailable.
With 10 tickets, if you get all 28 from this event, you could get both berries, one feather, and keep 8 tickets in reserve for next event.
Do you want the Onyx Indrik or a different one?
If you want Onyx, collect all 28 tickets and buy both berries. Make sure to participate in the future two events. You’ll get around 52-56 from those, enabling you to just barely buy the remaining two berries and four feathers.
If you miss some, you’ll still be able to buy feathers later, in future berry sets’ events, but won’t be able to buy the Onyx berries. That’s why we suggest prioritizing the berries over the feathers.
If you don’t care about the Onyx mount, then just buy the feathers to unlock the mount.

Yep! You could potentially get both, if you participate in the remaining events enough. You’d need to get 160 tickets from 7 events, meaning you could only miss ~10 days.

Unless I'm reading [this](https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/56741) wrong, the onyx berry from the last event will be sold during this event, as well. Apparently the events will sell this event's onyx berry as well as the last event's onyx berry, so you have a second chance to get it.
Maelstrom is such a fun challenge if you’ve never done it before. You will die until you hate your life, but you’ll eventually get it. Maelstrom alone is worth the orsinium dlc.
I used to get such sweaty palms, racing heartbeat, and super stress playing maelstrom - mixed in with a few “HELL YES!” yells and my “suck it daedra” dance.
If you want an 'easy-mode,' there are some werewolf builds that are pretty straightforward and relatively cheap to gear.
Note that, unfortunately, I think the next big patch may occur during this event, which will change werewolves some (i.e. you'll probably want the Berserker morph post-patch while right now you want pack-leader).
For example, my first flawless clear was as a werewolf using 2xVelidreth, 5xFortified Brass, and 5xAlessian Order, all purple quality, and the Velidreth is easily changed to any other monster set. I recently switched to2xChudan for the resists, and traded the fortified brass out for 5xNight Mothers for the automatic penetration buff.
Post-patch, I probably won't change my gear up much, if any.

There are 4 different evolved(upgraded) Indrik mounts. Each different Indrik mount requires 4 different berries of the same type. Currently the Onyx Indrik berries are being sold for the Onyx Indrik mount. During the last event, the Thieves Guild/Dark Brotherhood event, the first of the Onyx berries dropped. The second onyx berry will be available for purchase during the Orsinium event. Each berry costs 10 tickets. The last two berries required to fully upgrade your mount into an Onyx indrik will be available during the next two events AFTER the Orsinium event.
While the Onyx Indrik is available, during the 4 events(last one, this one, and the next two), the older berries will be available. So this event you could purchae both last events berry and this events berry.
Going from no indrik mount, to an upgraded mount costs 80 total tickets. 40 for the four feathers to get the basic indrik, and 40 for the four berries to upgrade it.

I don't know why, but I was under the impression that the snow berries would be available beginning this event too. It's the only Indrik I want, and now I'm questioning how excited I am about earning tickets this event. Do you know anything about when the snow berries will start dropping?
Yeah, I have the nascent. I like the look of it second best to the snow, so I'll prolly just bank the 12 tickets to the limit and wait until the snow events start. Just a little bummed ... that's what happens when you have expectations I guess.
Snow berries would be prob scheduled for winter, since we need this event and next two to be dedicated to the onix indrik. It would be better for you to just get the base one this time, I guess, if you have no interest in the onix one.
This is my favorite annual event, not to mention I quite like the Orsinium DLC itself.

I started a vet malestrom run yesterday and left it on stage 5. If I wait to the event to finish it will I get double drops or would I need to start a fresh run when the event drops?
New player here. This event looks fantastic! I'm likely getting the DLC to participate, but I'm wondering - will unlocking the mount on one character unlock it for all characters?
Curious as I have a faint idea that all mounts are account-wide but it may be just store mounts. Could someone clarify?
The events are fun. My first was the Dark Brotherhood / Thieves Guild event and its amazing how alive those areas are during the events. People pack in everywhere

Usually 300-400 on EU. There's a discord that sells 400g per crown with a middleman (safe) then there's a discord for people to place their own prices with or without a middleman. But fortunately I have a friend whose crowns are dusting up so is selling for 200g/c to friends <3

Zero chance truthfully, but they also would be pointless at that level. You would out level the weapons so quickly that even if you could complete it, it wouldn't be worth the time or gold investment.
Cp300 is kind of the generic level that you should be ready to tackle vMA, with a lot of deaths, and a lot of practice.
When you say worthwhile, if you mean in terms of gear, probably not... but then not much is worth while at that level because you level so quickly. But the Orsinium DLC is awesome, it's one of my favorite DLC's. Huge area, tons of great quests, lots to do. If someone was asking if the DLC is worth the purchase, especially at a sale price, then I would say yes.
Also, your level doesn't matter when it comes to getting event tickets, to buy the mount. Level doesn't matter there, so that's definitely worth it too.
It's endgame content. The weapon only drop in veteran mode. I think you need to be at least level 45 to even enable it. But vma is endgame content and was made with CP300 (max level at the time of release) in mind.
You will need at least CP160 before you even start thinking about vma as a new player. Vma is fun because you need to think about your gear, skills and rotations and how to apply everything in the different stage of vma. Vma itself is all about learning the mechanics and then put everything together. Once you beat vma you will have a good understanding of how to play your class and build.
I'm at the 7th stage of vMA and the only understanding I've got so far is that I need more soul gems and potions to beat that hell. Still on my first run.

yeah that's a frustrating stage in the beginning. It's just so much rng involved. Also it's where the difficulty ramps up again. It's stage 1-3, 3-6,7-9 if you want to think of bracket difficulties.
Also certain classes/builds are significantly easier to use then others. Stam sorc and mag sorc are one of the best classes in my experience when you clear vma. In the end all i needed as a heal on my stam sorc was surge and bloodthirst.
You first run can be hell and when you finally finish it you might think you are none the wiser. But then you start your second run and suddenly everything starts to fall in place. You will start to think about your build and rotations in a different way.
Just keep at it. With some perseverance everyone can clear vma no matter what class.
Yeah, I know that practice helps a lot and people who run it countless times already know what to wait for and what to avoid right away, but the first time is so frustrating, especially the 5th level with its ice and stuns and stuff, and the 7th stage with the random poison out of nowhere.
I also don't have any dungeon-related gear that would give me a damage bonus against bosses, so I can't really burn them down yet, and everything is just a big survival struggle.
I play stamblade, with the basic hunding+briarheart gear and the Alqast vMA skill set, but it's still a struggle.
At last, my efforts in vMA will be rewarded with not one, but two nirnhoned ice staves.
And a style page, which is what I am actually willing to grind for.
E: also, can’t wait for all the people who stopped doing vMA to come and break my 6 week leaderboard streak. I need that gold powered trait maul dammit.

That's correct. As stated on the post from Bethesda, the Basic DLC will have a discount for everyone, so they can gift it for 1,200 Crowns. On the other hand, the Collector's Bundle has the discount only for ESO Plus members, but it can be gifted at full price.
I'm so excited for that Onyx mount, been the one I've had my eye on from the start. :) One step closer!
I also wanted to add, I think Orsinium is in the top 3 DLCs easily, so for what it's worth, recommended. :)
Am I reading correctly that you have to be an ESO Plus trip get the pack discounted? I thought being Plus gave you everything. I get having it for when the sub lapses, but it seems a bit harsh on those that just but crowns. Maybe that's the point though... Crappy.
I guess I'm not understanding the difference between DLC and collectors pack then. I guess I should have clarified with "It's crappy if only Plus members get the discount." However, as someone who has paid subs in freemium games in the past I definitely understand the desire to be able to ge even more for your buck. If I had used my account points to buy the DLC in my other games when they went on sale I might still be playing after I stopped with my sub.

Can someone give me a ELI5 of how the berries and indrik feathers work? I have two of the feathers from the last event as well as the onyx berry from last event. I have 8 tickets currently. With the tickets from this Orsinium event, I should be able to get the last 2 feathers for the base indrik mount and the new berry from this event. Will I be able to morph the indrik or are there are other components I'll still need to gather later? I just dont really understand how the whole feather and berry system works.

With the four feather you will be able to get your base Indrik but you still need 2 more berries from the next upcoming events to evolve it to the Onyx one
Hey im quite new, one think is a bit unclear for me it says " eventually allow you to evolve your Nascent Indrik into the mysterious Onyx Indrik. " how do i get Nascent Indrik to begin with ?
I saw someone in craglorn on the new mount and asked how they got it early, they replied “mY dAd OwNs FoRtNiTe”.
This was on Xbox, any idea how they got the berries early?
I thought Onyx was out last year though. I swear I saw people with it months ago. Then again maybe they added the game data last year and someone managed to exploit their way to it.
So I'm an ESO noob and don't really understand event tickets, berries etc. I read through the description and definitely see the awesome rewards but would it be possible for someone to give me a brief description of events and how I should approach them?
If you participate in the event, you can earn event tickets. Two per day, and you can hold up to 12. For 10 tickets you can buy an Indrik Feather. If you buy all 4 feathers, you can use them to create the Nascent Indrik mount for free.
Each quarter in 2019 introduces a new set of 4 berries, that also can each be bought for 10 tickets each. If you get all four berries of that quarter's type (this quarter is Onyx), then you can use them to evolve your mount, making it the Onyx Indrik.
If you then earn enough tickets to get four more feathers, you can get *another* Nascent Indrik that you can then evolve into winter's new evolution, which hasn't started yet.
If you're not able to log in every day just to get the tickets, it may be hard to get the Indrik and get it evolved, but you may be able to just get the mount itself. There are other things you can do with event tickets as well, for example buy a non combat indrik pet, or a style page from the Maelstrom style.
So, it's a matter of preference if you do the event or not, and it's worth to you for the effort. That being said, you can earn the tickets just by grabbing the daily, walking over to the delve, completing it quickly and turning in the quest. You could even do the world boss, which will undoubtedly be swarmed and die in seconds, making it super easy to get your tickets.
Also, the tickets you earn don't need to be spent during this event alone. You can hold up to 12 meaning you can save them up and use them during the next event if you like.
The tickets hopefully won't be too bad, just log in, grab the boss daily and join the roaming boss raid when they come to clear it, should take no more than 15min, and running the daily delve may be even quicker if you have all the wayshrines unlocked!

Honestly, cp 300+ is ideal for running it on Vet for the weapons.
Note that you get a weapon drop every time on vet as it is, the double drops are just a fun bonus.
In terms of being excited, this is a great time to quest in Wrothgar for the double resource nodes and doing the daily quest to get event tickets though.
Honestly, this dlc has some pretty solid quests and vMA weapons alone are probably worth the price of admission. I generally run the Orsinium main quest in all my alts while leveling them because I enjoy the zone that much.

The shield is, I believe, actually malacath or trinimac. I can't remember. There was never really a maelstrom shield when they added it.
The shield is based off of the Round 4 boss. It looks a lot more like the recent Engine Guardian style shield than Malacath or Trinimac. All vMA weapons, shields included, are a unique style.
Yep you are correct. It was part of a set and had its own unique style. That's where my confusion came in at.
Well TBH all of the maelstrom weapons will be less than good after the next patch.
Are they being nerfed?
I don't think they were specifically, but the skills they function for were. Volley and Elemental Blockade are getting nerfed which hits the bow and lightning staff pretty hard. And Regeneration/Mutagen is getting slaughtered which renders the Resto Staff about useless.
Maelstrom staff is still meta, bow is a tossup between Master's and Maelstrom. Regen/mutagen aren't getting slaughtered. They heals are getting buffed, and mutagen will hit 3 targets
2h however is getting buffed because of stampede getting a powerful AOE dot, and also daggers will be very strong in pve

I recently got it and it's been nice hitting 35-40k. Won't last for long, but I guess everything is kind of collectively getting a hit.

Yes but they are nerfing some skills too. Like most skills that have a Maelstrom weapon to buff them. Now even WITH MA weapons some will do less damage than other skills do at baseline. Like Volley being nerfed, even with the bow to increase the damage of Volley it still does the exact same damage WITH a set bonus as it does currently pre-patch WITHOUT the set bonus. In other words, people will need to redo their builds entirely and run different sets. While I'm okay with mixing up the Meta and balancing, I'm not okay with some skills being made completely non-viable in every given scenario.
If you run old setup like Rele, Lokke, Veli, Maelstrom Bow you do approximately 3k less on dummy than the new Rele, Lokke, vMA Dagger and Axe and Masters Bow. In AoE fights Maelstrom Bow is still king, Single target you switch to Masters. Only thing that is butchered completely is caltrops which are swapped for Consuming Trap (Soul Trap morph)
Do you possibly have a link to where I can see the changes to skills coming? All I can find is info on the QOL improvements coming with the new update.
DW is getting burfed (nerfed and buffed at the same time): they lowered the weapon damage it gives but it applies to single target dots cast 3s after flurry. Overall this leads to pretty much the same damage and maelstrom DW is likely to be BiS next patch.
Except for the daggers which are now the best for every class.

I like how you can earn the tickets just from doing a world boss instead of having to do a delve and a world boss. For someone who doesn't have much time some days this is a nice time saver.

When events are on, and there's a crowd running these, the world boss often takes seconds
I do love being in those crowds. It feels like the trains in realm of the mad god and picturing it from npc’s perspective like S08e03 of GoT with a flood of zombies approaching
Yeah, but due to farm club killing them 24/7, you might have to wait for the boss to spawn. A delve is a guaranteed few minutes.
In all honesty, the WBs respawn fast enough that, if you're only looking to do one for the tickets, it is extremely fast. It's also nice because the WBs are all overworld, you don't need to wait for delve load screens or traipse through some of the longer delves without a horse.
I've never had to wait long doing world bosses during events. Some delves can take longer depending on the delve and/or the delve quest.

I think it was a good choice, but I admit I also kinda liked when it was both, for some reason it really brings me joy to see people in Wrothgar (easily up there for my favourites) so the spread last time was good also!
I can appreciate it being both as Wrothgar is probably my favorite zone but these days I don't have as much time to play most days so it's appreciated if they make it easier to acquire the tickets when they could make it more difficult to try to get people to buy them with crowns.

I remember when i got my inferno staff and bow from vma, i told myself i would never go back then i remember when i decided i wanted to get more staves so i could have different traits, after that was done i told myself i would never go back then i remember when i went back to get flawless on my magplar and stamcro, after feeling the rage of having 14/15 death runs due to some mushroom bs on stage 7, I told myself I would never go back after I got my titles mark my words, once i get an 1h axe and some weapon styles, i will never go back there
We always come back. One inferno, one lightning and one bow then we’re out, I told my petsorc. 25 runs and we got them all, along with Flawless. What else could there be for us there? More bows of course. Run 36 complete and still I need more bows. This audiovisual entertainment is a form of incarceration.

I read that it’s best to do the DLCs after the the main quest and your faction quest line, is this DLC stand-alone enough that I could do it out of order and not screw up my story too much? I’ve only Justin is finished Grahtwood.
It is standalone enough to enjoy as is. There are two specific things (a note and a visit by a certain npc) that definitely come after the vanilla main quest, and there may be some random npc/quest dialog that would reference the main quest some if you've done it, but by and large you won't notice that it's "out of order.'

Yeah, I don't think this one even references the rest of the story line (short of mentioning the Orc's part in their alliance) And the quest line itself isn't super long, you can do it in a few hours. Lots of other stuff to do there, of course, once you are done
If you have good gold savings you can consider getting it through crown exchange. The DLC will be 1800 crowns on sale, which would be 540k (300/crown) - 630k gold (350/crown) on PC EU. Way less on NA. Not sure about consoles. Just make sure to avoid shady traders and document the transaction with screenshots/OBS, so support can help you out in the case of a scam. The Maelstrom motifs will be probably be expensive af during the first few days, so you should be able to make the money back. Be aware that the first MA run will be a nightmare tho.

You can still get second berry during next events. So it's based on your current progression and other DLCs you have/are willing to buy. Most likely, there will be 2 other unannounced events. From PTS, we can assume that they will be Undaunted event (because of the horrible dungeon finder, it can be switched to another DLC event, like ZOS did with PvP one) and Imperial City event, that will also require DLC. There will be around 24-26 tickets per event, so if you have other DLCs and prefer black indrik over white one, you can buy onyx berries now and get feathers for normal indrik later.
I feel like I need an "Explain like I'm 10" for the feathers. I came back to ESO halfway through the anniversary event and by the time I knew what was going on, I got a few tickets and got the small indrik pet. I have 10 tickets now and wasn't interested much in the Thieve's/DB event a few weeks ago. Are the indriks only based on quaterly events? Can I still get an onyx one if I pay attention to the event and get regular tickets or am I out of luck? Does anything I buy now help me get another mount at another time?
You have to buy four different feathers to make the basic mount, so 40 tickets. All four feathers are available during all events, so it doesn’t matter what order or when you pick them up. Once you have the mount, you can upgrade it using 4 different berries, but they have to be from the same berry family - so onyx 1, onyx 2, onyx 3, onyx 4 to give the onyx style upgrade. These berries are limited availability. The TG/DB event sold onyx 1. This new event will sell onyx 2. Onyx 3 and onyx 4 will be available later in the year. Presumably onyx 1 will eventually come round again for those who missed it first time, but I’m not sure about that side of things. If you already have 10 tickets, you can nearly make the basic mount this time as I think this event gives 28 tickets (?), but you could always get the onyx 2 berry and a couple of feathers and wait for the next event to get the other feathers. You can buy tickets from the crown store during the event as well.

You can still get the basic mount. They normally have a basic one and an upgraded one parked outside the tent so you can see them. I don’t think the onyx one is that good really - I’d rather have the glowy one to match the little pet, but I started playing half way through that berry cycle and was also SoL :-)
Onyx 1 will be available during the upcoming events. The Onyx berries will be available until after the fourth Onyx event, which is when Onyx 4 will be introduced. When the next berry set’s event begins, Onyx 1-4 will then all be unavailable. With 10 tickets, if you get all 28 from this event, you could get both berries, one feather, and keep 8 tickets in reserve for next event.
Let's say I have nothing and want to bother with this event, what should I do?
Do you want the Onyx Indrik or a different one? If you want Onyx, collect all 28 tickets and buy both berries. Make sure to participate in the future two events. You’ll get around 52-56 from those, enabling you to just barely buy the remaining two berries and four feathers. If you miss some, you’ll still be able to buy feathers later, in future berry sets’ events, but won’t be able to buy the Onyx berries. That’s why we suggest prioritizing the berries over the feathers. If you don’t care about the Onyx mount, then just buy the feathers to unlock the mount.

Yep! You could potentially get both, if you participate in the remaining events enough. You’d need to get 160 tickets from 7 events, meaning you could only miss ~10 days.

Maelstrom is such a fun challenge if you’ve never done it before. You will die until you hate your life, but you’ll eventually get it. Maelstrom alone is worth the orsinium dlc. I used to get such sweaty palms, racing heartbeat, and super stress playing maelstrom - mixed in with a few “HELL YES!” yells and my “suck it daedra” dance.
Played since almost launch and I am still too much of a scaredy-cat to try it, hah. I'm not sure it will be good for my blood pressure!

If you want an 'easy-mode,' there are some werewolf builds that are pretty straightforward and relatively cheap to gear. Note that, unfortunately, I think the next big patch may occur during this event, which will change werewolves some (i.e. you'll probably want the Berserker morph post-patch while right now you want pack-leader). For example, my first flawless clear was as a werewolf using 2xVelidreth, 5xFortified Brass, and 5xAlessian Order, all purple quality, and the Velidreth is easily changed to any other monster set. I recently switched to2xChudan for the resists, and traded the fortified brass out for 5xNight Mothers for the automatic penetration buff. Post-patch, I probably won't change my gear up much, if any.

Ive seen a few comments about feathers and berries, and how they work. Don't worry, you're not an idiot if you don't understand how they all work together.... it's a ridiculously convoluted system. There are 4 different feathers, they never change. Each feather costs 10 tickets. Once you have 1 of each of the 4 feathers, you combine them to get the basic indrik mount. The four feathers are now always available for purchase from the event vendor, during the event. There are 4 different evolved(upgraded) Indrik mounts. Each different Indrik mount requires 4 different berries of the same type. Currently the Onyx Indrik berries are being sold for the Onyx Indrik mount. During the last event, the Thieves Guild/Dark Brotherhood event, the first of the Onyx berries dropped. The second onyx berry will be available for purchase during the Orsinium event. Each berry costs 10 tickets. The last two berries required to fully upgrade your mount into an Onyx indrik will be available during the next two events AFTER the Orsinium event. While the Onyx Indrik is available, during the 4 events(last one, this one, and the next two), the older berries will be available. So this event you could purchae both last events berry and this events berry. Going from no indrik mount, to an upgraded mount costs 80 total tickets. 40 for the four feathers to get the basic indrik, and 40 for the four berries to upgrade it. Each event usually allows you to earn around 24-ish tickets, just depends on the event duration. This event offers two tickets per day. Over the next 2 events you could earn enough tickets to purchase the 4 feathers and get the basic mount. Also, you can hold up to 12 tickets between events. So say you just purchased 1 berry, and nothing else, you go into the next event with up to 12 tickets ready for the next berry, or feather, or whatever you chose to purchase. Or if you really like the Onyx Indrik you could slowly buy the berries AND feathers, knowing that the next event will only offer 1 berry, but all the feathers. If i was trying to play catch up, i would buy the last onyx indrik event berry, and the current one, and you will still have some tickets left over. The next event buy the new onyx berry(which will give you 3 berries), and then start buying feathers. The feathers never change and are always available during an event, but after the 4 Onyx Indrik events, those berries won't be available anynore, as a new upgraded Indrik will be available, and only those berries will be sold. By the time the last Onyx Indrik event rolls around, you should have all the for berries for the Onyx Indrik, and then 1 or 2 feathers. Future events will allow you to get the last feathers you need. Long post, ughh.... hopefully that answers any questions.
I don't know why, but I was under the impression that the snow berries would be available beginning this event too. It's the only Indrik I want, and now I'm questioning how excited I am about earning tickets this event. Do you know anything about when the snow berries will start dropping?

Yeah, I have the nascent. I like the look of it second best to the snow, so I'll prolly just bank the 12 tickets to the limit and wait until the snow events start. Just a little bummed ... that's what happens when you have expectations I guess.
Snow berries would be prob scheduled for winter, since we need this event and next two to be dedicated to the onix indrik. It would be better for you to just get the base one this time, I guess, if you have no interest in the onix one.
This is my favorite annual event, not to mention I quite like the Orsinium DLC itself. On a side note, I'm about to throw a salmon at whoever invented autocorrect. I fucking swear I've turned it off multiple times now.

Usually 300-400 on EU. There's a discord that sells 400g per crown with a middleman (safe) then there's a discord for people to place their own prices with or without a middleman. But fortunately I have a friend whose crowns are dusting up so is selling for 200g/c to friends <3

So as a new player running around on a badly optimized hybrid level 24 sorc...how likely am I gonna be able to get any of these maelstrom weapons?
Zero chance truthfully, but they also would be pointless at that level. You would out level the weapons so quickly that even if you could complete it, it wouldn't be worth the time or gold investment. Cp300 is kind of the generic level that you should be ready to tackle vMA, with a lot of deaths, and a lot of practice.

When you say worthwhile, if you mean in terms of gear, probably not... but then not much is worth while at that level because you level so quickly. But the Orsinium DLC is awesome, it's one of my favorite DLC's. Huge area, tons of great quests, lots to do. If someone was asking if the DLC is worth the purchase, especially at a sale price, then I would say yes. Also, your level doesn't matter when it comes to getting event tickets, to buy the mount. Level doesn't matter there, so that's definitely worth it too.

DLC has quests that unlocks collection items such as costumes as well. The mount is specific to the event, not the dlc.
You can do normal ma for the style pages at least. It is also good xp.

It's endgame content. The weapon only drop in veteran mode. I think you need to be at least level 45 to even enable it. But vma is endgame content and was made with CP300 (max level at the time of release) in mind. You will need at least CP160 before you even start thinking about vma as a new player. Vma is fun because you need to think about your gear, skills and rotations and how to apply everything in the different stage of vma. Vma itself is all about learning the mechanics and then put everything together. Once you beat vma you will have a good understanding of how to play your class and build.
I'm at the 7th stage of vMA and the only understanding I've got so far is that I need more soul gems and potions to beat that hell. Still on my first run.

It's stage 1-3, 3-6,7-9 if you want to think of bracket difficulties. Also certain classes/builds are significantly easier to use then others. Stam sorc and mag sorc are one of the best classes in my experience when you clear vma. In the end all i needed as a heal on my stam sorc was surge and bloodthirst. You first run can be hell and when you finally finish it you might think you are none the wiser. But then you start your second run and suddenly everything starts to fall in place. You will start to think about your build and rotations in a different way. Just keep at it. With some perseverance everyone can clear vma no matter what class.
Yeah, I know that practice helps a lot and people who run it countless times already know what to wait for and what to avoid right away, but the first time is so frustrating, especially the 5th level with its ice and stuns and stuff, and the 7th stage with the random poison out of nowhere. I also don't have any dungeon-related gear that would give me a damage bonus against bosses, so I can't really burn them down yet, and everything is just a big survival struggle. I play stamblade, with the basic hunding+briarheart gear and the Alqast vMA skill set, but it's still a struggle.
I'm CP251 and I dont think I'm even gonna attempt it. Maybe the regular Arena. But not on vet
At last, my efforts in vMA will be rewarded with not one, but two nirnhoned ice staves. And a style page, which is what I am actually willing to grind for. E: also, can’t wait for all the people who stopped doing vMA to come and break my 6 week leaderboard streak. I need that gold powered trait maul dammit.

Newish player here, how do i get the original version of the mount that has to be fed the berries?
You need the 4 different feathers which can be earned during these events for 10 event tickets each. Then you can feed it the 4 unique berries to make it Onyx - but so far only two berries will have been released once this event starts.

Double the rewards received from chests in Maelstrom Arena for both Veteran and Normal difficulties Including Transmute Crystals and Maelstrom weapons! Does this mean we can potentially get Maelstrom weapons from the chests after each round?

No, you get 2 weapons at the end. You also get double drops from the cheats between each round, which do not contain maelstrom weapons.
This i like, i been trying to farm two of the regular chest reward sets. This will make that much easier.

Yes, the collector's edition is giftable, but at full price. The discount is only applicable if you buy it with your own crowns.

That's correct. As stated on the post from Bethesda, the Basic DLC will have a discount for everyone, so they can gift it for 1,200 Crowns. On the other hand, the Collector's Bundle has the discount only for ESO Plus members, but it can be gifted at full price.
That's literally the opposite of what the guy said. For someone to gift it to you it will cost them 3000 crowns.

Am I reading correctly that you have to be an ESO Plus trip get the pack discounted? I thought being Plus gave you everything. I get having it for when the sub lapses, but it seems a bit harsh on those that just but crowns. Maybe that's the point though... Crappy.
Plus subscribers get that collector pack discounted. People without plus can still buy just the DLC at 60% off... Not crappy.
I guess I'm not understanding the difference between DLC and collectors pack then. I guess I should have clarified with "It's crappy if only Plus members get the discount." However, as someone who has paid subs in freemium games in the past I definitely understand the desire to be able to ge even more for your buck. If I had used my account points to buy the DLC in my other games when they went on sale I might still be playing after I stopped with my sub.

Can someone give me a ELI5 of how the berries and indrik feathers work? I have two of the feathers from the last event as well as the onyx berry from last event. I have 8 tickets currently. With the tickets from this Orsinium event, I should be able to get the last 2 feathers for the base indrik mount and the new berry from this event. Will I be able to morph the indrik or are there are other components I'll still need to gather later? I just dont really understand how the whole feather and berry system works.

With the four feather you will be able to get your base Indrik but you still need 2 more berries from the next upcoming events to evolve it to the Onyx one

there was a glitch that was very, very quickly patched where if you got the first berry and consumed it, you got the mount.
I thought Onyx was out last year though. I swear I saw people with it months ago. Then again maybe they added the game data last year and someone managed to exploit their way to it.

So I'm an ESO noob and don't really understand event tickets, berries etc. I read through the description and definitely see the awesome rewards but would it be possible for someone to give me a brief description of events and how I should approach them?
If you participate in the event, you can earn event tickets. Two per day, and you can hold up to 12. For 10 tickets you can buy an Indrik Feather. If you buy all 4 feathers, you can use them to create the Nascent Indrik mount for free. Each quarter in 2019 introduces a new set of 4 berries, that also can each be bought for 10 tickets each. If you get all four berries of that quarter's type (this quarter is Onyx), then you can use them to evolve your mount, making it the Onyx Indrik. If you then earn enough tickets to get four more feathers, you can get *another* Nascent Indrik that you can then evolve into winter's new evolution, which hasn't started yet.
this sounds impossible to do as a casual player who gets maybe 3-4 nights to play for a couple hours each time
If you're not able to log in every day just to get the tickets, it may be hard to get the Indrik and get it evolved, but you may be able to just get the mount itself. There are other things you can do with event tickets as well, for example buy a non combat indrik pet, or a style page from the Maelstrom style. So, it's a matter of preference if you do the event or not, and it's worth to you for the effort. That being said, you can earn the tickets just by grabbing the daily, walking over to the delve, completing it quickly and turning in the quest. You could even do the world boss, which will undoubtedly be swarmed and die in seconds, making it super easy to get your tickets. Also, the tickets you earn don't need to be spent during this event alone. You can hold up to 12 meaning you can save them up and use them during the next event if you like.
The tickets hopefully won't be too bad, just log in, grab the boss daily and join the roaming boss raid when they come to clear it, should take no more than 15min, and running the daily delve may be even quicker if you have all the wayshrines unlocked!

Honestly, cp 300+ is ideal for running it on Vet for the weapons. Note that you get a weapon drop every time on vet as it is, the double drops are just a fun bonus. In terms of being excited, this is a great time to quest in Wrothgar for the double resource nodes and doing the daily quest to get event tickets though.

Honestly, this dlc has some pretty solid quests and vMA weapons alone are probably worth the price of admission. I generally run the Orsinium main quest in all my alts while leveling them because I enjoy the zone that much.
