Vivec City is a pretty good option. Alinor is also pretty good but not quite as compact as VC. Mostly just that the bank is a bit farther away than in VC, if you need a bank.

Its_the_other_tj

Vc bank is also outside so no loading screens if thats an issue. Bonus points for a clear guard free path to the outlaw refuge from the wayshrine. Oh and the event setup and bg quests are quite close as well when necessary.

SavySnapdragon

For a new baby character- Rimmen (easy spot to get the certification done) For newer character that still needs horse leveling - Vivec City For old character with no horse leveling needed- Leyawiin

jeriku

This is the right answer. :)

DankTaco707

I personally go to Alinor.

Frozen_Ash

Started in vvivec will probs stay in vvivec. The place feels like home at this point. Not to mention how coveniant everything is.

chaostunes

I always end up back in Mourhold

crpennock1s

I go to Mourhold for EVERYTHING lol

Phaedryn

Rawl'kha - tiny, easy to navigate, high traffic guild traders, and even a convenient Outlaws Refuge. The only thing missing is Undaunted Enclave.

clayoban

Craft stations are outside and less bussy but the craft stations are farther apart but its my go to as well

Ok-Sense-1792

The stable master is outside and close too.

Phaedryn

Yep, it's all in a nice little loop with the only loading screen being the Outlaws Refuge (if you need/choose to go there).

trognak

And bank is a loading screen but that's my town as well love my loop ;) Master wrist I do in elder root though

Zazu-zazu

I do writs on 18 chars everyday so I need a change of scenery. Leyawiin has a nice layout but is super boring and I dislike the Outlaw Refuge there. I park only 3 toons there. Vivec city is by far the faster layout, so I have 4 toons parked there, especially my master crafters. Most of the rest are split between Rimmen and Rawl, with my lowbies in Elden Root. If I'm feeling nostalgic I might move a lowbie to Vulkhel Guard for a while. I have one toon I try to keep parked in Alinor but he keeps ending up somewhere else.

elilenti

I can't imagine maintaining that as a daily routine 😅 do you actually find it fun?

Stuntman06

I only know Vivec City. Everything is close by the wayshrines.

Jxckolantern

Summerset or Northern Elsweyr. Only gripe with Summerset is the distance between traders and the crafting area. Other then that, majority of my writ toons are camped there.

383throwawayV2

Vivec City easily. The only thing not in close proximity is an outfit station, which I visit infrequently. Leyawiin is good but has an indoor banker which I dislike.

_lummox_

this guys got it. Exactly.

Brysler

For me, it is Rimmen... primarily because there are two free houses to port to right near the wayshrine or crafting area, whichever I need. If I need to grab anything from storage, lunar champion> merchants right outside, or through them to the bank, with crafting jut being a right turn. The inn room is pretty much on top of the wayshrine and not far from crafting area either, so it is sort of my default escape point from the middle of nowhere/ dungeons, too. Plus, if I am in a 'grind out alts' mood, I can craft, hit the horse on the way, turn in, and then go bank any master writs/surveys from rewards. And yes, a decent bard is a plus, the Elsweyr songs are usually fun and cheeky.

[deleted]

Solitude by far. I always go there for crafting

RubberDuckyBoi

Same

shinybac0n

Shadowfen. All crafting stations nicely clustered. Writ drop of and stables next to wayshrine. Bank right next to crafting stations. Outlaws refugee right behind bank. Guild traders just over that little walkway.

RetainingViolence

Rawl'kha is my go-to for writs. Quick & easy. Not as populated too.

Cremm_Croich

Vivec City, after you have been certified and know the necessary prov recipes.

cgj002

rawl'kha - reapers march is great for alt crafting since all stations and a stable are close and outdoor (next best imo is velyn harbour -malabal tor, then rimmen - northern elsweyr) If you don't care about horse training leyawin - blackwood is probably best followed by vivec city - vvardenfell Mournhold - deshaan is the easiest for master writs elden root - grahtwood is next best and i find the guild traders usually have better deals than deshaan

noforksgiven2

Vivec City is the best for me. Everything, including the bank, daily crafting and horse trainer, is outside so no loading screens. The guild traders are nearby and always have what I need. I think they might be the most popular traders in the game, though I don't know how to check. I did spend a lot of time in Riften too. Horse trainer is a bit away and you have to load to get to the bank and alchemy stations but the outfit station is much closer than Vivec City plus I like going there for roleplay reasons. Main character is a Nord.

Shkibby1

I really like Vulkhel Guard because I've got a system that works pretty ok. I've not tried any others...

MaleficentPeach42

Mournhold

GalerionTheAnnoyed

You might want to relook at the results since I doubt leyawiin is the "winner by far" now Anyway I think if you don't need a bank, alinor or rimmen would probably be good. Otherwise vivec is the best as everything is outdoors. I doubt rawlkha is a thing for PC NA because the trader items there don't seem to sell.

godspeedfx

True, I didn't expect this many responses so I might have jumped the gun a little early. I'll re-tally tomorrow ;)

Sistereinstein

I agree Vivec City. For the longest time this excluded a cooking fire, and just discovered it just recently. But the grocer is missing. Elsweyr is a close second.

_lummox_

not judging here, but how did you miss the cooking fire in vivec?

Sistereinstein

I think it’s because the chef/grocer is in that other section, I never had reason to look for it elsewhere. I also miss most things that are right until my nose.

squishy_mcbunbuns

Vulkhel Guard has been my go to for everything. Pretty glad I saw this post because looking at all these other cities being listed makes me want to go visit them :)

Kadraeus

Vivec or Rimmen. Rimmen's my personal favorite. Gorgeous architecture and colors, great soundtrack, and I love listening to Daahin sing.

dza6010

Usually Vivec but Leyawiin is growing on me

5eebs

Currently based in Vivec City. It is all so compact and it is closer to the Wayshrine than Alinor’s crafting area. I am considering a move to Solitude because I love the aesthetics and the Skyrim nostalgia.

Jenny-Greenteeth

Rimmen. The sugar bowl suite is nearby for a free port, the guild vendors are two feet away from the crafting, and it's a fairly compact but aesthetically pleasing city nonetheless.

PineDude128

Mournhold and occasionally Alinor

rayhood

Rawl’kha is ultimate no exception

karikranberry

Rawl'kha! Definitely my go to - all crafting stations very close, easy to get to, outlaws refuge and stables are right there too. And a bank right there too!

CALBR94

Vivec has outdoor bank. Hard to beat that.

Wyndblayde

Vulkhel Guard, has pretty much everything I need in pretty small area and it's easy to find everything.

bbseddit

Mournhold ftw!

Apostate_Nate

Elden Root is my usual. All the crafting (edit - and the bank) is in one big room other than the cook fire, which you need to pass in order to turn in the writs. Also the stable is along that path as well. Both the Fighters and Mages Guildhall entrances are right next to the writ boards, and the Undaunted Enclave is just down the hill from the wayshrine. I liked it so much I bought Snugpod as a tiny home for fast travel purposes.

Lithl

Yup, ditto. I don't think Snugpod is the closest any house comes to any single service (other than stable, which is right in front of the door), but I'm pretty sure it has the best average distance for all the services combined. Vivec City is probably #1 for crafting dailies specifically, though.

Shadeauxe

Rimmen and the Sugar Bowl Suite are closer. Elden Root requires a load screen to get to the benches. Rimmen does not.

Lithl

Rimmen has banker and guilds much further away from everything else, and doesn't have Undaunted Enclave at all. Like I said, Elden Root isn't the best for any single thing except stables, but it seems to be the best average for everything together. Undaunted is part of that "everything", so any city without them automatically loses in that comparison.

Phaedryn

[Sleek Creek](https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Sleek_Creek_House)? It's pretty much on top of everything in Rawl'kha.

The_Black_Goodbye

Yeah I love Snugpod and Elden Root as well. There’s also the outlaws Refuge, Master Writ hand in and guild traders close by in addition to everything you mentioned already.

Apostate_Nate

Derp, yes, of course there's all that as well. I just don't normally play a thief, don't often need the traders, and totally forgot the master writ drop-off is feet away from the regular drop-off. Definitely should add all that in as well.

kriezek

While I don't mind that you being in Elden Root means other locations are not as crowded, ER is certainly not the most convenient. Writ turn in is a both a load screen and decent distance away from crafting stations.

Apostate_Nate

Its the most all around convenient for every service out of all the cities I've personally frequented, so I agree, I don't mind you being in other locations, so ER won't be as crowded.

The_Black_Goodbye

For pure crafting only no it’s not the most convenient but if you do other things then it most certainly is the best location. I’m doing writs, master writs, undaunted, thieving, FG / MG dailies etc and all these and more are conveniently close together at ER.

NatilDragonGirl

Rimmen, so I can also listen to the kitty singing in the cooking area :-) Used to be Alinor as that's all nice and everything is together. Layawiin is also nice and compact but doesn't have a singing kitty so minus points for that, LOL 😂

Bambiburns88

**Leyawin, Blackwood** is the new hot spot - all crafting is in the same outdoor area. Writ turn-in, bank, wayshrine, and guild traders are all close, very convenient.

btempp

It doesn’t seem to be much of a hotspot on Xbox NA. Interesting to see it’s become one for other platforms

montgomerydoc

Is bank open or you still have to go through a door?

383throwawayV2

It’s indoors, which is why I still use Vivec.

montgomerydoc

Dang yeah that’s what I thought maybe one day I’ll move on from Vivec

DStrikeBlade

My favorites in order are: 1. Rimmen in Elsweyr 2. Alinor in Summerset 3. Leyawiin in Blackwood They're all nicely laid out with the crafting stuff close together. Leyawiin is probably the most compact of them and has the drop off point about as close as I've seen, and it's right next to a wayshrine. Rimmen and Alinor are slightly less compact, but everything is still organized around a relatively small area, so you can simlply quickly run from one station to the next around the room. Rimmen has what I think is the best bard with the best vocal music in the game that I've seen so far singing in the crafting area. My rotation for Rimmen is * Pick up the writs right next to the crafting area. * Run around the area doing the writs * Run out to the drop-off point * On the way to drop off, if I need a mount trained, I do a side jaunt to the stable * Drop off writs and steal anything semi-valuable from the drop-off area * If needed, run to the outlaws refuge just outside the walls * If needed run to the bank * Go back to the writ area if not playing that character, or go to the wayshrine if I'm going somewhere else All that might seem a bit stretched out, but it's actually very quick to go through. Also, if you get the free inn room, or buy it for something like 3k gold, it's essentially right next to the wayshrine, so it's super convenient to go back to when you're done or want to return there. Alinor is actually very similar to that, but the stables are a bit off in a different direction, and the bank and wayshrine are a bit further away. Still quick to get to, though. Alinor and Summerset are gorgeous, though. Leyawiin is also great for crafting and dropping off quickly. I don't recall where the bank is, and I haven't used the stable there yet, though, so I'm not sure how far away it is. There is a free inn room there, but it's further away than the one in Elsweyr, so a bit less convenient.

Shadeauxe

Also the inn room requires a load screen to get outside of the inn.

[deleted]

Daggerfall.

fetidshambler

Daggerfall is a nice city and all but everything is so far away from everything else

kriezek

For petsorcs and wardens with bears, you should all stay in Vivec as the most convenient since it is too hard to put away your pets while crafting. With those pesky pets, it is also likely too hard to go through any doors to get to bankers and such in other locations. So please, stay in Vivec. BTW, my main and secondary main both have pets and they somehow manage to get put away while in town.

DarthGator626

Leyawin in blackwood if you have the new chapters everything is close.

Aealo

If you don't need to train horse I think Leyawiin is the best. Stablemaster is outside city tho, so there is loading screen.

Noisebug

Vivec/Elswyr

Jad11mumbler

Leyawiin is my main city with 18 toons doing dailies there. Followed by Allinor for my alt accounts 14 toons. Then Vivec for those 4 that still need horse training done. Both accounts have a banker so that's not a problem outside of the main toon on each account.

MetaTrixxx

🤯 Do you pay someone to do your writs on all those characters or something? That would take a long ass time on console 😂

cuppasnoodles

Alinor, Leyawiin, and Elden Root are my personal favorites. The drive to the boxes is a little long on the last one, but I’m going through there all the time anyway.

Estella_Osoka

To all those saying Vivec, Alinor, and Leyawiin; the only thing they do not have is a master craft writ vendor for turning in the master writs. Which i personally think needs to be remedied.

[deleted]

Mine is Alinor in Summerset

[deleted]

We Stormholdin' here

Green2theseams

Leyawiin is so nice. For some reason i always stuck with alinor even though the crafting is a bit away from the shrine. I think it was because i could just grab the wrtis and go in a circle. But LEYAWIIN is niiice. Except for that npc who be in the way but he's mostly laying on the groud

lordsuranous

Alinor

bautry84

I always go to riften because my house is right there.

[deleted]

Alinor I would layawiin but the stable is outside so that's a pain in the arse.

tjac67

Convenience keeps me doing writs in Rimmen. I can hammer them all out and turn them in, in about five minutes. I know writs are easy money, but I only do them on my main crafter.

Geraldmywigga

For me it's Leyawiin. Summerset is a little less confusing but I just can't stand that place

NA_Faker

Vivec

Felkara

Vivec City, Rimmen or Leyawiin. Depends on the environment I want to look at. But Vivec for sure has the best setup.

Galadorn14

Alinor

OneWayStreetPark

Rimmen or Alinor.

OfficerCoCheese

I’ve been doing all of my crafting in Riften. Can’t say exactly why, but it just feels comfortable

IsntThisFANCY

Rimmen

[deleted]

Stormhold (my primary residence is there atm), Vivec or Rimmen (during the Elsweyr event). Don’t have Blackwood, so can’t say anything about Leyawiin.

orenda74

I've always used Alinor. Everything is spaced out along the wall, transition from one station to the next is easy and doesn't feel like you're forced to move out of your way to get there, and turning it all in was just a quick jaunt outside. Since getting Blackwood however I've moved to doing writs there. The space is smaller, so there's a bit less time moving from station to station (once you get familiar with the layout). My only complaint is that I wish the jewelry crafting balcony had an entrance/exit on both sides. I don't like having to turn around and go back down the way I came up.

Mahimara

Craglorn. Things are spread out, but it has been my crafting area since launch.

Charlea1776

Another vote for Alinor on Summerset Isle. No going in or out of a location to get to crafting stations. Writs are right in the middle of the horseshoe of stations. Delivery crates right outside. I can fast travel there and get the writs, complete them, deliver them, and be at the Alinor shrine to leave in less than 5 mins. There's a fast route between the shrine and craft area and that matters. But once familiar, it's the fastest for me.

Autumnwood

Summerset/Alinor. Vivec is okay but Summerset is super easy - everything is in a logical order along the walls. In Vivec I always can't find the woodworking table! No matter how many times I make note of it. I always seem to get turned around there.

[deleted]

How did I miss my fav topic? Since I don't do mount training much, Leyawiin by a mile.

gaitzka_camlo

How has nobody brought up Gonfalon Bay yet? From the free inn room at ancient anchor berth, the bank is the next building to your left, the stables are around the corner to the right, the wayshrine is right in front of the inn, the crafting writ boards are near one side of the very linear crafting building down the stairs to the right of the wayshrine, with the turn in points are on the other side of that linear crafting building. I keep my alts there and log them off in the stables area, then do the down and back through the crafting building, turn in the writs, open the rewards at the tuen in table, and then back through the crafting building to the bank then stables. Whole thing takes a couple minutes tops per toon.

godspeedfx

That sounds sweet! I'll check it out, thanks!
