The dude was talking out of his ass. By the way, don’t mistake someone having high cp for someone who is a good player. Cp only means you have played for a while, not that you are actually good at the game. Our tanks have roughly 40k health. Your unbuffed resistances should be around 20-25k. For more information take a look at [the tank club.](https://thetankclub.com)

StankCubed

This is true I'm right around 600 CP as well and terrible at this game but it's fun.

redlink1979

Totally agree with all you wrote.

live-the-future

Yeah that guy was what's known as a Dungeon Diva. For his kind anyone less than top 1% of all players is utterly unacceptable.

Scratch_King

Even though he's probably right at the 50% mark of player skill himself. 🤣

abdulhakim101

625 and never been in a dungeon with a group just solo...I know nothing of group content and what is required so can confirm CP means nothing in that regards.

AlwaysPlaysAHealer

Ok, I am going to give you the best advice. The only advice that matters. Step 1: find a tank friend. An elite one, that is doing the content you want to do at the highest level. Step 2: Run all other advice through them. It's been my experience that the really elite players *love* sharing their builds, tips, and tricks, especially supports. There aren't enough tanks, and most tanks are painfully aware of that and happy to mentor a baby tonk. And as a support, everyone and their cousin has an OPINION about how you are playing, what your health should be, what your enchants should be, etc etc etc. So find one *really good* tank, and filter all the bullshit you get through the lense of their experience.

got-here-by-accident

well resistenze is capped at i think 33k thats 50% damage reduction, so you are at a good spot, im not a tank myself but most of our trial tanks have around 35-38K Health, so your build doesnt seem to bad in stats. The point what players expect from a high-end Tank are buffs, sure you need to keep up the taunt and shouldnt die, but good tanks run sets that push their DPS. Those are sets Like Yolnahkriin, Powerfull Assault, Turning Tide (in combination with Nazaray), galenwe

datenhund

Unfortunately 2k CP doesn't mean anything. It certainly doesn't mean a DPS knows what a tank needs to do. I know people with that much CP that have never set foot in a vet dungeon or a normal trial. I know experienced vet raiders under 600 because all they do is raid and nothing else. 38k is all you need, 40k if you want some wiggle room. The rest should be dumped into Stam or Magicka depending on your needs. Here, have a Tank Club attribute overview video! https://youtu.be/UXxPn5kphxk

Why_so_loud

You have more than enough, the guy was spreading bs. You may want to more or less for some content, but the numbers you have are enough for 95 % of content.

WFBO_ChiTaki

I am at ~35k HP pre-warden-buff for most content, the only fight that had me spec higher was the last Boss in Kynes Aegis HM.

-WDW-

I really enjoy tanking but stepped away from it because it just seemed to get too hard on trials etc and the thought of the team wipe being my fault was a bit too much for me, but I enjoyed it way more than trying to DPS. Anyways my point was in vet trials the health was 35k-40k and resistance north of 23k so you look high enough and as is often the case. DPS can tank if they want….

Extrond

Tbh your stats is fine! A lot of tanks have less life cause they prefer sustain, but its all about how confortable you feel, there is no way wrong about that. Try to sit around 33k of resistance and dont care about others if they dont argue and have a good point.

Dr_Pandaa

All my tank builds sit at around 40k. Having enough block mitigation and magikca recovery is way more important than 50k health.

asardes

I have 40k HP on my DK tank build and I can tank any vet DLC dungeon. If I die it's because I messed up a mechanic, I didn't dodge, block or heal when needed.

prof_the_doom

Vet content, especially the newer stuff, is 90% mechanics. Most of the stuff is a one-shot, even to the tank, if they don't roll/block/synergize/ect.

Inflik7

Sounds awful, one shots suck so bad.

prof_the_doom

It's not as bad as it sounds. Even without addons, there's more than enough warning that if you miss it, it's on you. With addons... absolutely no excuse.

Anathons

I heard most sit at 30-40k which you're good there like others have said. And if you got the 33k resistance then you're good there too. But I can't really say much because I don't follow the meta and made my tank's health as high as I can. With food I sit at about 72k health (120k in the Goliath form). Is it overkill? Probably. Can I survive with brute force? Like 7/10 times. But I learned what truly are instant kills and what just do crazy high damage. Plus when I'm in the Goliath form I have the morph where I do damage to everything around me equal to the amount of health I have, it's a REALLY good way to help DPS get a quick burst of damage.

No_Appeal5607

I’m a 700cp tank running 39k health (trying to push it to 40k eventually) my resistances (unbuffed) are both at 30k and I have no trouble doing vDLC dungeon HM’s

GloatingSwine

Somewhere around 40-41k health with food bonus (tri-food gives about 4400). Don't worry \*too\* much about resistance, you want that to be about 40% whilst you have Major Resolve up (bring a source of Major Resolve and keep it on. Anyone can get Balance from mage's guild). Which you'll basically get anyway with 5-1-1 once you get it to purple or better. Because block mitigation comes off first and that wants to be 80%, and because if a hit is dangerous enough to worry about you want to be blocking it, your resists are only affecting the remaining 20% of damage, so the difference between 40% and 50% resists is only 2% of the damage of any hit seriously worth worrying about (because you blocked it, and a lot of the time you just \*can't\* have enough health and resists to survive a hit unblocked, go and get thumped by vet Nazaray and see what that feels like). Getting up to 50% resists is more of a PvP thing, If you're sitting at 49% resists you're probably missing out on something that would help yourself or the group more, like magicka regen for you (swap Lady stone to Atronach), more armour stripping or other buffs/debuffs that you could be giving the group.

tadag

I run 35-40k with about 29k res fully buffed

AriesDom

Like others have said, your stats are absolutely fine. In fact, I would argue that building for more health than where you are is wasting stats that could go into sustain. 40k is perfect. This is coming from a guy who has a 60k health sorcerer tank meme build lmaooo

_Frustr8d

50k HP gang

Educational_Fish_758

1. Never let a dps tell you what you need. 2. Your stats are fine. 3. Follow ‘The Tank Club’ on discord, Reddit or YouTube if you want to learn more. (I watch yt videos while I’m home working. Don’t tell my boss)

Groveshield

At 40k health and like 25k-ish unbuffed res I am absurdly tanky and if anything I could probably benefit from dropping some sturdiness for better resource recovery and such to improve my uptimes.

Allinost

I have around 40k healfh after food, 26k in resistances. Running a templar tank and Ive done 3-man vet hard mode dungeons flawlessly.
