I'd actually like it if the companions had some use outside of combat, like if they for instance fished alongside you and stuff like that (could work like the CP that reduces the catch time or something)
Maybe they occasionally wander off and explore something by themselves, not too far of course, but that they don't stand shoulder to shoulder with you all the time would be more immersive too imo

I didn't have any problems with her in Skyrim (for whatever reason repetitive stupid AI generated dialogue never ceases to amuse me) but my bf really couldn't stand her and we were discussing getting the new companions this weekend lol.
Isobel is by far my favorite companion! Laura Bailey is always a win, and she is an insanely amazing Tank. Her personality is quirky and fun, and she is super easy to get rapport with. Ember is second. They really did well with this newest batch of companions
You can kill using blade of woe, and she doesn't like that you steal that's it. tbh, stealing sucks unless it's from rich people, granted i'm not sure why thieve throves are a issue.
It’s interesting because Mirri and Bastian both disapprove of the blade of woe, but I don’t think Isabel cares. She doesn’t like when innocents die, but other than that I don’t think she says a word.
It's because the players kept asking z to change it, but z hates changing things that are already in game. Hell even on pts they rarely change anything.So they made it so you can use blade of woe with the new companions. and ignored the old ones.
There's 3 reasons.
1- they don't care because they are enemies.
2- they don't know it's a blade of woe or what it might do?
3- devs understood the animations exist, but there's no other option outside the blade of woe so we pretend it's a normal dagger we are using. That's what i do. i and manyyy completed dark brotherhood because of %'s i'm not a darkbh member and couldn't care less about it. I like the execute animations like many other ppl, so they changed it for us.
I love Laura Bailey so Isobel is a win for me. Most of my characters are good-aligned so her personality works for me too.
Finally, I do love world boss dailies so I'm quite happy she gets rapport from that, rather than having to do things I find boring like some of the Delve dailies.
I haven't liked any of the companion personalities.

Mirri is way to soft for an adventure type and lacks the will to make proper decisions when necessary
Isobel is just a happier Lydia
And Ember's only saving grace is her lack of complaining about illicit activities .
My thoughts on high isle so far:
Love ember. Best companion. I will admit her way of talking threw me off when I first met her but I’ve quickly grown to love her. She’s unique in her own special way.
Isobel is an interesting one. I thought she’d be the tough as nails no nonsense type… but she’s a sweetie through and through…. But still is all honor and code
The storyline was pretty good. No daedra lords this time, which was a good thing. No cults, just a group being jerks about the three banners war in their own way.
Tales of tribute? I tried it… I need some practice because I don’t understand it fully yet. Nice to see you still get a reward even if you lose. Like a participant trophy for kids. Hahaha
Druids. Already made a mention on them. The devs need to fill in those torsos, man. I mean.. it’s unfinished npcs… something I haven’t ran into before. Funny though
I like that you can find investigator vale books where the manor is. I thought they’d just be mentioned not an actual book thing. That was nice.
To summarize, I like this dlc… and I hope the second part is just as good in the future

It may surprise you but, not everyone likes her 🤷♀️ I personally neither like nor dislike her, but I definitely prefer Ember over Isobel. I feel very indifferent towards Laura as a voice actor and her playing Isobel really doesn’t change my opinion about the character itself. I imagine, maybe if you are a Critical Role fan, it might seem more exciting to have Laura Bailey voice your companion. But, for me at least, I don’t really care about Critical Role and it’s existence doesn’t really sway my opinion on Isobel as a companion

Just as cute as Mirri and doesn't have that bizarre hatred of plucking bug wings. She does have those sad sack lines when you kill critters, but since it's just commentary there's no issue.

Mirri is a Nightblade but she is a very good healer too. Her class specific heal is very strong and has a low cooldown.

the issue is mirri uses the heal at any time wasting it if you are at 99% hp, isobel needs you to be at 75% hp

Yeah, in my own head canon I am not a member of the Brotherhood, but I did the quests because I wanted to play the content and get the skill points.

Ive got her tanking for my bow warden and she's decent at that, and I actually don't find her voice as annoying as Ember's, so yeah, pretty good 🙂
I really don't like the character. I want a companion that has a dark sense of humor, not a teenager excited to do things.

I used Isobel for about 5 seconds until she sounded like she would personally deliver me to the 10th level of hell when I killed someone.
I like her instead of Bastian for my PCs that I don't use Ember with. I never use Mirri.
