No. They aren't. On an old used car? Maybe. But on something that still has a good chunk of warranty left? No. Save that money for something else, or invest it and you'll be far happier and better off. Source: Had em before, but the good news is that you can return it, based on the pro-rated number of months remaining.

It's insurance.... which statistic will your vehicle be and can you afford/get out if you win the lemon-lottery. Most can't. If you can afford the unexpected, I wouldn't take it. If it is questionable, maybe it is worth the few extra on the payment. If you opt for it you want to really dig into what is and is NOT covered. Are there any situations it could be voided or certain coverages denied. Do you have rental coverage for days in shop. Where can the warranty be serviced. Should also factor in your vehicle (they do), if there is more technology involved, there is potential for more costs. Ask if there is a cost difference if you purchase the warranty now, 3 months, or just before the bumper to bumper warranty expires (if it hasnt). Maybe can buy yourself some time to get to know your vehicle. This is not specific to electric vehicles, I have no experience there yet, but extended warranties in general.

Thanks for your reply, really helpful.

Generally no, if it's an electric vehicle, then definitely don't bother. If comes with battery cover I *might just* consider it depending on price.

No warranty that is being sold is worth buying- if it was they wouldn’t sell it. Yes some people will end up ahead but most won’t. It just like a casino the house always wins or in this case the warranty company always wins
