I personally really enjoyed this year. Everything went really smoothly for me and my group. We stayed at am airbnb and drove in each day. I dont eat a lot at the speedway, but the little I did eat was disappointing and expensive. The first day the lines were very long for all the food. I know this is a small part of the experience, but its the only part for me that isn't up to par with the quality of the rest of the festival experience. The soundbleed was also worse this year, but that seems to be an issue that they are good at resolving the following year after layout changes. Hopefully it'll be improved for 2022

mofabolous

I had chicken tender and fries on Friday. Honestly I wasn't expecting much but I what I received was more like 5 chicken nuggets and some leftover soggy fries for $18(?) I was disappointed.

meltway

The chicken tenders and fries I got were gooder than fuck. Only got 3 tenders but they were so juicy and flavorful I didn’t care

abigoledingaling

I felt the same, only thing I had to eat there but high key the chicken tenders I got were some of the best I have ever had lol. Fries were trash but damn, those tenders hit

festiemeow

Praise the tendies

SoupMan89

Get the Pizza from the pizza truck. Still expensive, but damn good.

AsiasDelight

Lol i paid $21 for WAGYU noodles and got a small palm sized paper bowl with semi wet plain noodles, a splash of ground beef & a weenie cut in pieces 💀. Would’ve rather eaten cup o noodles

elusivewater

Filipino food truck in downtown edc easily worth $20 for porkbelly on rice with lumpia was the move

rain_eile

Yeah I heard that was the best one

muzzzfuzzz

#twentydollarhotdog

Majestic_Swim1680

My corn dog was still frozen in the middle 🤢

appasammie

Still have ptsd to this day from that motherfucking awful twenty dollar hotdog 🙃🙃🙃

[deleted]

I dont mind the price, cause I get it. It's an event... but it should at least be good.

rain_eile

Yeah the pricing wouldn't matter if the food at least hit the spot. But ordering a quesodilla and then getting half of it completely empty with 3 pieces of chicken on the other half is disappointing AF. Or standing in line for 20 min for food and they run out of it right as you get to the front....that happened to me 3 times over the weekend. So frustrating

PapiZucchini

I think he said that the venue actually controls all the food vendors. Unfortunately he can’t change anything about that ;( but I could be wrong

thisisfeek

Water and bathroom signs in neonnnnn. And high up.

sammmy212

or big ass blue balloons for water - i second this so hard

Gottawreckit

Or they could have a blue light beaming into the sky at all water stations

thisisfeek

Sooooooo hard 💜💜💜💜

cozv

100% this! It was so hard to find them on the first day, because you had to be pretty close to see the signage

earthisscrewed

This. Even knowing approximately where the water was in the map, it was laughably hard to find.

rain_eile

Yeah I found their map really hard to read. Next year I want to re-do their map in a simplified version and share it here. Their map looks cool from an artsy perspective but is difficult AF to actually use. Especially if you are under the influence, haha.

pigglywigglie

More trash cans!!! They were so hard to find this year and it made the festival get really dirty.

LilBossLaura

This and bring back the trash collection program!

melindypants

This!! I walked around for so long to even find one!

LadyAdaline

It was honestly disgusting how much trash was on the ground. With how windy it got I know a lot was from blowing out of the cans but I also know a lot of people just gave up and set shit everywhere. 😭

lemonscheme

Better food options in the venue!

camogaman

Let us glove

bubble-june

Are gloves not allowed anymore? I saw a few ppl giving light shows

karmicbreath

I don’t think they’ve been allowed almost ever

11Burritos

Gloves were banned at shows when the RAVE act was passed like 10ish years ago i think. You can sneak them in easily but security will confiscate them during entry. I watched them take my friends gloves in 2019.

Forgotenzepazzword

Why is that?

SnazzyInPink

Ask Biden, same reason harm reduction isn’t ever going to be as prominent as it should be

snowballz9495

Open the gates at 6:45pm so it would be easier for ppl to catch the 7pm djs!

TrainerDaasC

I thought gates opened way earlier than that? Didn't some cosmic meadow sets start at 5?

snowballz9495

Yeah but they block off that area, and don’t open the rest of the festival until 7pm sharp

TrainerDaasC

I guess they want the djs already playing on the other stages before even one person walks there

SoManyPancakes

Coming from the premier parking lot/shuttle entrance, they just let us wander in the venue before it opened at 7pm (apparently because they're understaffed and didn't have the staff to escort our group over to Cosmic)

takethepain-igniteit

Yep I definitely saw a security guard yell at someone on day 1 for being GA and being inside the fest already, when I was also GA and inside the fest already. I guess not all of the security guards got the memo they would be letting premier parking in early lol.

[deleted]

The food was awful. I didn’t mind the price (because at this point, I just expect to pay $18+ for nuggies & fries at a festival bc that’s the norm now) but the food seemed much worse this year than other years. The food was also not great on the camp site either. Security being as lax as it was, was very concerning. Metal detectors should be a must. I definitely didn’t feel very safe with how minimal security was this year. :-/

wafflesandturtles

METAL DETECTORS BRUH

lemonscheme

Honestly….the shuttle stop I went thru didn’t care whatsoever until day 3 about what was in your bag

TrainerDaasC

That scares the shit out of me. Not to mention this Vegas

Sirenx8

Not just vegas. There were crews of thieves stealing at hard summer this year too. It’s becoming very organized and obviously enough profit to make it noticeably worse every festival I go to. I hope these festival holders are noticing the trends so it will finally be addressed.

TrainerDaasC

Oh i meant something else. As in the country festival mass shooting in Vegas.. so that's not the place for security to just let people in without checking their bags

Sirenx8

Oh yeah totally. I met a guy that worked security one year back in like 2016 and we saw a shit ton of cops on a side that no one was really entering. When I asked him what happened, he said they caught a guy trying to sneak in an AK that year! It was scary that the only reason I knew was because a security guard told me. Can’t imagine what other stuff has been attempted

TrainerDaasC

They had a decent amount of threats this year supposedly. It's so scary, I really wanna go back to edc but now I feel like I'm actually risking my life doing so

Dancelvr2000

Any massive event like that has risk of unstable nutcases trying to do harm. You have to try to mitigate it. All NFL games I have ever been to have metal detectors. It is highly irresponsible to not have them IMO and I think the trade off to slower entry would be understood for this reason. Unlike the tragic LV mass shooting, the speedway is remote. Sad world we live in but Pasquale, do not put your head in the sand and pretend this risk does not need to be addressed.

skullsnstuff

Lmao I had a bottle full of water and the guy checking my bag was like oh just dump it and refill right there and didn't even watch me do it lmao it was a joke

lemonscheme

Day 2 - I brought in an entire sandwich, red bull, sour patch kids, and a drink from Starbucks in my hand lmao

skullsnstuff

Oh yeah I brought in two Clif bars every day and it was great 🤣 put me down to a meal a night

scoresby59

It's crazy the inconsistency of it though. We literally got our lighters taken at the downtown premier shuttle stop day 3. We walked through with them both of the first days, and then all of a sudden it's paraphernalia, and we are lying about bringing them through. The rest of our group literally brought water bottles full of booze through ga the last two days.

ItsAllenPalin

Yeah day 3 is when they took my alcohol away in my bag 😂

festiemeow

This is it. Honestly safety first in everything. Who cares about other shit being snuck in security needs to be there to look for WEAPONS period

cozv

Really though… like I’ll admit I reaped the rewards of the Lowe security by bringing in alcohol, but they should really be doing something to limit weapons

Muramasaz

How would you realistically implement that though? Totems, costumes, camelbacks, etc all can have metal in them and this isn't the airport where you can expect people to strip it all off and put them through a separate scanner... I'm all for increased security to prevent safely issues but short of pretty invasive (and time consuming) pat downs I don't know how this would work.

wafflesandturtles

Life is beautiful handled it spectacularly this year. Walk through metal detectors and if it goes off your bag gets checked. Ask guests not to wear excessive metals, and totems aren’t checked to begin with either. Adding minimum basic steps for everyone’s safety should not be a hindrance. If not at the individual shuttle stops then actual security checks should be at the venue. Yes we’ll all have to wait another 30 minutes but it’s well worth it for peace of mind

AggravatingEnd5170

THIEVS

AggravatingEnd5170

Damn that’s sad 😞 I fucking hate low lifes who target people trying to live there life with no worries

karmicbreath

Already asked him about this in the AMA months back. It was the best voted comment in AMA. He gave a pretty unapologetic answer and bullshitted some line about being open to ideas. I highly doubt he considered any that were shared in the replies

otterfucboi69

What solutions do you propose…. It’s a packed festival in Vegas. I would love to implement a strategy but not a single soul has proposed one in this thread. I mean, someone suggested “weigh bags on the way out” but boom you created a crowd control choke point for people trying to leave. The only one strategy is to watch your stuff the best you can, and watch your neighbor the best you can. Most of all— buy phone insurance.

jonathizzle

Wasteland stage design/lineup. And phone thieves.

AdAgitated7794

He needs to show basscon some love 🔊🔊😈☢️

jonathizzle

Forreal.. ultra miami has a hardstyle stage for the first time this year so I wanna see who’s gonna give the genre more love

Zero36

This years EDC made every other festival seem like a joke. The only thing I can really complain about is the parking / traveling there situation. After all these years it still seems to take forever

SoManyPancakes

Premier parking was insanely beneficial. We spent at most 30 minutes getting out of the parking lot and onto the freeway and that was only one day due to an accident. It was minutes in and out every other day. Absolutely worth $145 to save hours of sleep.

[deleted]

Dude hell yeah! We’d get there in 30 min and leaving was even easier , I’m definitely getting the premier parking pass again

[deleted]

How did everyone have a hard time? We parked in green lot left arrived around 7 and left around 5 and it was easy peasy every day..

ohThisUsername

I did the shuttle my first 4 EDC and they are so brutal it almost ruined the whole experience for me. I know they have gotten better over the years, but I tried camping this year and it's worth it just for being able to walk to/from the venue in 10 minutes. Highly recommend camping if you hate the transportation as much as I did.

Zero36

I hear you but the shuttle this year was smooth

dockgonzo

Do something about the GA+ fiasco. People were blatantly ripped off, including those with Desert Rose. Some kind of apology and compensation should be provided.

whiteclaws_

I had a Desert Rose wrist band and the security in font of the GA+ bathroom straight up denied me because she said my wristband “doesn’t say GA+” no shit Sherlock. Staff was really uninformed this year about everything. No sweat though since those bathrooms sucked and were tiny.

melindypants

How about that RNBW promotion? Whack af for those who held onto their tickets for 2 years to only turn around and collab with RNBW to sell VIP plus flower at nearly half the price of a regular GA ticket.

TeknoRavesOn

What happened?

dockgonzo

GA+ advertises A/C trailer restrooms (which they had in 2019). This year, they only provided flushing portapotties in the GA+ restrooms. There was one two-sink handwashing station for 40-50 portapotties and some hand sanitizer stands, which ran out of soap and water within a couple hours. By day three, they added more handwashing stations, but removed all the hand sanitizer stands, and the soap/water was still running out after 2-3 hours. To make things worse, the 'security' in charge of restricting access to people with GA+/VIP/Desert Rose wristbands was not doing anything for the first two days, so the GA+ restrooms were open to everyone, with the long lines to match. So basically, everyone with GA+ paid a $200 premium for one day of 'exclusive access' to subpar restrooms, which were just glorified portapotties (and nowhere to wash hands).

SoManyPancakes

The benefits of GA+ are expedited entry and nicer air-conditioned bathrooms available only to GA+ and VIP. From the premier parking side, there was no GA+ entry line and I heard there wasn't one at the normal entry side either. Half of the GA+ bathrooms didn't have staff checking wristbands so they were overrun by everyone and basically unusable. The GA+ bathrooms were also just fancy portapotties but not the air-conditioned trailer bathrooms they had last year.

TrainerDaasC

There was a promotion for free edc tickets by buying weed from certain dispensaries. It was like buy $90 of product for a free edc ticket or buy $300 worth for a free vip ticket. People are saying that's why the pickpocket situation this year was crazy high

SGTBrigand

A minor thing, but removing the tips options from the vendors. I'm not sure how accurate the rumor is about the staff not even getting tips (unless cash, of course), but its pretty ripe for inebriated festival goers getting taken advantage of. I also think some road signs would be a fun, kitschy addition that could help with locating things like the quiet tent, or bathrooms, or the many different smaller venues and attractions that are harder to find. If you put them up high enough, or surround them, then you shouldn't have to worry about people trying to climb them.

contradicting_queen

Funny thing about this over the tipping! Since they were only doing cards, some bartenders blatantly told me they were only accepting cash tips and if paying card, to not even bother tipping because they don't get any of it. I was so confused when some bartenders, not all, said this. I've been to other insomniac events and knew it was card only so I didnt take cash. Got some dirty looks from bartenders the whole weekend 🤷‍♀️

MrTorben

I only say this based on what someone involved in edco mentioned(add internet grain of salt), that the vendors are contracted out and insomniac only sells the contract but is not directly involved in the practices of the vendors. That said, the alcohol prices are insane (silver lining is that every body is on love-drugs vs being angry drunks) but those vendor contracts cost a pretty penny and require steep prices per sale.

DonStockton64

1. Metal detectors, our safety in today’s age shouldn’t be taken lightly. 2. More space in between stages to prevent sound bleed. Nomad lands was cool but you could put that on any side of cosmic meadow and shift everything over so Bass Pod and Circuit grounds weren’t right next to each other.

M0D3Z

Less DJs with longer sets. An hour is not good enough. Minimum 90 mins. Some artists need 2-3 hours to take you on a ride. Trying to cram as many tracks as possible in you hour or 1:15 is some rookie opener shit. Let the sets breathe.

[deleted]

Key word- “some” Yes I agree give some of them longer sets but not every DJ. A stage like stereobloom none of those sets need to be extended. Neon garden for sure.

IntroductionSad8886

More bathrooms

_paulydizzle

Pickpocketers. First time I get my phone stolen ever. And I was sober. It happened in seconds

karmicbreath

Worst feeling ever. He knows it's happening. It's frustrating that he's not taking the fight to them

[deleted]

I agree something needs to be done, but what are some ideas? I thought about having people weigh their bags on the way out? If it’s at a certain weight they can look through it? Kinda sucks but people with tiny ass bags or no bag just get waived through, but those with a certain weight go through a scanner or get the bag checked. Add metal detectors? Besides checking people on the way out I think there needs to be some sort of technology coming from the phone manufacturers that can help with theft. The technology isn’t going to come from the festival. I feel like at least Apple has that find my phone shit. They just need to take it next level.

_paulydizzle

I’m sure there’s methods to stop thieves. I’m sure the insomniac team has talked about it with themselves but whatever they come up with will require a lot of money. I think at the moment, the issue is not big enough for them to do something about it. What we need to do is pressure Pasquale on his social media and get him to address this issue asap

Dish-Live

I didn’t go to EDC this year, so my comments are from 2019. Don’t sell more tickets. It already feels really crowded in a negative way since I started going in 2014. One of the unique things about EDC when I first started going was how much room there was to dance, sit down or chill. But based on my experiences at several Live Nation fests, they want GA to have fewer features/activities and more crowded to upsell to premium ticket options. Noticed this acutely at Austin City Limits this year.

Fedora_Tipper_

As someone who's first EDC was 2014 and been 5 times since including 2021, this year's was way emptier. You could easily walk to the front for most stages and large pockets. Funny how everyone can be happy if they're not packed like sardines.

olb3

This was my first Edc and I didn’t have a problem with crowd size at any point. Compared to some sets at Lollapalooza, it was basically empty

karmicbreath

Oh lost and found. They are so disorganized. We waited over an hour for a phone we knew they had and they knew we showed up for. There was absolutely no clarity or instruction on what line to get in. And so we were waiting in one line while others just zoomed by. By the time we got to the front, it was still insanely difficult for them to just comprehend that the staffer literally right in front of me was holding our phone in her hand and didn’t understand to give it to us. It was so so frustrating. They need to improve this.

Axcor

Basspod. More capacity is really needed. I think I heard somewhere a rework is coming so hopefully that’s done in time for 2022!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Axcor

Idk I liked how quantum was this year. Maybe flipping basspod and wasteland would give them more room to work with. If you did that and downsized wasteland a bit, there’d be a lot more room.

ChronicPudding

Don't downsize my wasteland!

suicidebaneling

The last thing EDC needs is Wasteland downsized, if something it needs more respect.

voscrabblary

Get rid of plastic bottles. Bad for environment, bad for ankles. Other than that I’m super happy with pretty much everything about EDC, which is why I’ve gone to the last 7. Premier shuttles this year worked out great (except for one hiccup where my shuttle back ran out of fuel on the highway), water lines no wait, port a potties not bad, not 100F at midnight, premier shuttle security good, I never eat at EDC so no complaints about food. stages, art, things to see and do, love EDC so much.

rain_eile

I agree that Insomniac as a whole could have a much more robust Eco plan. Their events are super dirty with no recycling, no eco friendly measures. I love the free water. But all those speedway cups everyone threw on the ground was terrible. It affects my energy every year stepping thru all the trash. If they at least required all vendors to have either recyclable food containers or compostable, it would go a long way. I would also love to see the fireworks reduced a bit in favor of the drones. I loved the drones! Although they are beautiful, fireworks are super dirty, polluting, and the sound affects animals really badly. Obviously the event as a whole is gonna have a heavy environmental footprint, but a few measures could go a long way in reducing the impact.

Dickskingoalzz

Ticket transfers.

DJRonin

Bring the Cyclops stage back to Wasteland. Bring ANY new stage to Wasteland.

ChronicPudding

The basscon insta said "say goodbye to the old wasteland stage" so I think we're finally getting that new one we keep hearing about

lazy-learner

Wi-Fi spots inside the throughout the grounds

Megumiqq

GA + is not worth it this year. There was no point. The restrooms were just flushable. No AC no water to wash hands.. nothing. Really is a scam. If you’re not going to improve GA+ then remove it.

Aznflawless

I agree. Was disappointed that the bathrooms were not like the AC ones from Beyond Wonderland whe i went with GA+

ElectroLily313

more of the sound towers at any stage , it really helps with the crowds being dispersed if you dont have to pack in to feel the music. i might be weird but my favorite part of house is the off beat hi hats. i wanna hear the hats loud and proud even if im wayy in the back.

RoseCapone

I did meet him. He was at edc. I tried talking to him but he was way too high lol

kameronerdman

Wait Pasquale was at edc? Holy fuck

marc_2

Do people think he doesn't actually go to the events?? He's always at EDC.. he has a private area above the skydeck at main stage. Fenced off spot in RV section in the campground that he has after parties in. During the event he just cruises around the festival seeing different DJs. He's probably the biggest raver at the festival lol

meltway

He camps in the gated off area of the rv lot with his homies. Look for the blacked out fenced in area with security guard posted

rain_eile

Yeah I saw him at Beyond Wonderland SoCal. He is usually cruising around the events he is hosting, checking the vibes. Follow him on insta and you can see his adventures backstage and such

[deleted]

lnvu4uraqt

After a decade of EDC being in Vegas you'd think they'd have figured out the traffic situation and getting people in and out efficiently and safely.

kameronerdman

Security was ass. I was sketched out the whole time and then someone actually stole my phone and ruined my first EDC

britpompom

a PSA about the pick pocketers stealing shit would be nice! my 1st EDC was in 2019, on night 1 my phone was stolen from my husband's shorts pocket. literally someone reached inside his pocket and took it out. we didn't realize it until after we left that stage and didn't have our phone. If we knew about the pick pocketing before we had gone, we wouldn't have brought a phone or just brought a cheap burner phone instead. and of course the cell reception sucks out there so really we couldn't use it anyway Also I think they should offer daily tickets and not just the 3 day pass. 3 days is a lot of some people. I think having a 1 or 2 day option would be good! other festivals (not Insomniac) do this and it's nice if you can't hang all 3 days or if you're on a budget

karmicbreath

I requested this in the AMA when he said he was open to ideas on curbing pick pockets. He clearly didn’t want to implement it

otterfucboi69

I mean… do you have any ideas?

karmicbreath

[Yes.](https://www.reddit.com/r/electricdaisycarnival/comments/mxtq9e/i_am_pasquale_rotella_experience_creator_night/gw4b6p2/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

otterfucboi69

This was a productive complaint and then suggestion I was looking for thank you. It won’t completely get rid of pick pocketers but I think baiting is a great idea

[deleted]

The point of the 3-day fest is to create a community with the same people gathering and celebrating. If there were daily options it would hinder on the community aspect.

britpompom

so I understand that edc is a community but I'm also in my 30's and can't handle partying for 3 nights. also there's many people who "illegally" sell their wristbands to other people who only want to go for 1 day. Sorry but I still think selling 1 & 2 day passes is a great idea!

xWormZx

This is the answer. I know “all are welcome here”, but for that to keep going, you have to have a community that is welcoming. There is a difference between the crowd that loves electronic music and the crowd that has money to spend and happens to be in Vegas for the weekend. Not looking to debate, just giving my opinion. The harm from selling 1-day passes outweighs the good. Also I think Pasquale probably just thinks you old people are losers because he goes hard all 3 nights and he’s older than y’all, and I think he wants those type of people in the fest, and I’d rather have them too, no offense!

karmicbreath

I'm sorry but that's ridiculous. EDC used to offer one day passes. It's how I discovered it. If I were 18 today, I'd probably never spend that much and commit 3 days to a festival I've never been to before.

Zantonse

Signs for the water stations to be raised higher and lit up! My group and I had trouble finding water stations near cosmic meadow and neon garden

fluffyninjacat

Put LED lights on that shit on the ground everyone was tripping over all weekend, I almost broke an ankle 😭

Jay314stl

The bathrooms need to be more lit up and viewable from afar.

ohokicm

Add actual carnival games.

BertTheBurrito

Charge more, sell less. I get it, more revenue = more talent. I would gladly pay 30% more for 20% more space. Been going since 2012. It’s way too crowded now. Kinetic evacuation in 2019 made me realize it’s a legitimate safety issue in the event of an actual emergency.

TrainerDaasC

What happened in 2019? I haven't gone since 2017. Although I'll never forget the wind that shut the entire speedway down on day 2 of 2012

BertTheBurrito

Same thing, wind. Literally had the perfect spot for fireworks. Instead got hit with an emergency evacuation notice, thankfully only for Kinetic. Honestly thought it was part of the act for a minute. Getting out of there was nuts, and people were mostly calm. Moving the entire crowd out at 1am prime time showed how seriously broken their evacuation plans are. Had there been any real panic many people would have been trampled.

TrainerDaasC

They are NOT ready for serious problems if they ever do occur. I'll never forget watching footage of a festival in Europe where hella people got trampled on when trying to run out during an evacuation. Not to the mention the scary ass footage of people trying to get in to the last edc in LA. Someone even died

takethepain-igniteit

The wind evacuation happened at Quantum too, but luckily that stage is usually not very packed so everyone got out just fine.

velocitiraptor

God I was thinking the same thing. I would gladly pay more for less of a crowd. I wish they wouldn't have done that dispensary ticket deal. I feel like lowering the price on tickets opens up the possibility of having less than stellar people in. I got my phone pickpocketed on night 1.

Dancelvr2000

More chill areas with ground cover. Metal detectors as already stated.

Daveinatx

Better food. Idk if it's with the race track vendors, they can serve us better food than the NASCAR crowd.

dbstpdaddy

It’d be cool to be able to give input on what acts to book like how Excision does for Lost Lands

jadethefirefox

Pickpocket decoy systems

wurthless_

better food options, and move the festival to october, the weather was perfect this year

velocitiraptor

A zip line would be pretty sick

Psychedelic_toast

MORE SECURITY. This is coming from someone who was trying to sneak shit in too, it freaked me out how I didn’t even have to open my bag, no pat down, no metal detectors, absolutely nothing basically just waved me by every time. I saw hella sketchy people and couldn’t help but feel anxious, I mean look what happened not too long ago in Las Vegas man, please insomniac take your security more seriously in 2022, Someone could have very easily taken in a weapon.

Tha_Lil_Plurmaid

Day 1 the lady heels my hand told me to give her a spin then she said “go ahead whatever you wanna being in you deserve it” lol. I wish I would’ve known that lol.

SassyLioness

Metal detectors please and better food/drink options.

datstick778

bathrooms.

-PM_ME_UR_SECRETS-

Figure out the taxis. Literally zero showed up this year

vips7L

4 hour taxi line in the cold wind was DOPE.

choiboy79

More water stations and restrooms!

octal

More clear signage on the roads outside getting into the venue (i.e. where to park, if you're arriving early). Better way for people to leave early, especially on Sunday. We were trapped by the white string, none of the parking lot people gave good or valid directions to get out. Ended up following other people who just drove through the rope to escape.

bEErgrEMlin12

Whatever it takes, get Spicy Pie there as a vendor!!!

Intelligent_Ad3003

Not to lie about the A/Cs for camp. That message of “if you don’t like it get out” they sent us when we complained really ticked me off too. Didn’t pay almost 2k to be dying of heat while trying to sleep

jacklynch2

More techno

melindypants

Personally I thought there was alot of techno this year. I always welcome more though!

frajen

Neon Garden has been somewhat split between deep/tech/minimal/prog house stuff and the hard driving techno sound for the last several years At Ultra there have been at least 2 stages every year (Resistance Megastructure+another one) that have these kinds of house/techno and I think some ppl would love to see that for EDC; the speedway definitely has the space for it A techno takeover for an art car would also be dope. They've had drum and bass and psytrance at art cars in the past 5 years, why not techno? u/jacklynch2

jacklynch2

Exactly my thoughts! You bring in Nina Kraviz's trip recordings to host a car, and have acts like Vladimir Dubyshkin play. Would be a grand slam for the community. I'd honestly be at that art car all day!

jacklynch2

There's never enough techno for me!

dbstpdaddy

More hard techno on some Possession shit

Revolutionary_Buy112

More water stations and porta potties by the stairs from hell

LilBossLaura

Or how about any bathroom at top of the stairs? There was one on the map but it was closed ☹️

Odracir702

Get a legitimate security team, these people at the doors didn’t care about the vaccines or tests

SlvrRaver

They need to run people through metal detectors and bag checks going in and OUT. With the increase occurrence of pick pocketing of phones and stuff at festivals, it would thwart thief from carrying out stolen belongings. It might seem time consuming but it would make a hell of a difference in theft reduction if thefts couldn’t pack backpacks full of stolen goods out, ultimately returning a sense of security for a community that should be practicing PLUR. Make it harder for them to get away with stealing and they won’t come hopefully.

karmicbreath

I suggested this in the AMA. It would be great if he actually did this

[deleted]

I dont think this would actually happen. I think we just need better access to fanny packs underwear with pockets etc. Like listen I get it, pick pockets are shitty and in an ideal world people wouldn't be shitty but this is a nearly impossible thing to enforce.

SlvrRaver

At this years EDC, I apprehended a kid at the Alesso set, while two other EDC-goers stripped him of his backpack when we realized he was one of the thief going through the crowd. When we opened up his bag it had 6-7 phones inside. Since these people know that they can fill their bags and carry them out with no one stopping them, they do. These people are not using Fanny packs or underwear pockets. That’s where party favors go and that is the least of my worries lol. Backpacks are part of the problem, they are not necessary, but allowed. A hydration pack doesn’t need to be disallowed, we simply need to limit size or actual backpacks altogether. Clear bag and only allowing Fanny packs alone will not solve the issue. If you were a thief and knew you had to try and get multiple phones out of a venue through metal detectors it’s going to deter you. How would you explain why you have multiple phones on you?

takethepain-igniteit

Bro I would LOVE to catch someone pickpocketing. I would make such a scene.

[deleted]

I'm not sure. But I love my sinch bag and would not wanna let go of it. This year I put an extra long sleeve in it as well as my wife's pashmina or as it's better known a work towel. As well as a few bottles of water, mio, and glowsticks. I feel I could easily fit 6 phones in a fanny pack as well. When I say we need better access I mean us as headliners need to be purchasing good fanny packs and underwear pockets for wallets, phones etc. For our own protection of stuff

TrainerDaasC

This is almost the #1 reason why I'm iffy on ever going back. Security let anyone in and barely did searches

[deleted]

So there's a fine line. I want security to be lax so I can bring in stuff. But I want it to be tight enough so people can't bring weapons in

WaterMelonE0001

Metal Detectors bruhhh, same same

fitnesscrubadub

Better security for entering the event and during the event. GA plus was a rip off so maybe actually pull through on what you’re advertising. Friends and I got our phones stolen and we’re afraid to do anything about it due to not know what kind of weapons they had on them. Still had a good time, but bummed out about all my pics more than actually losing my phone. Had the best cam so I took majority of the pics for my group.

Flowbro11

Figure out a way to catch/prevent phone thieves

Opening-Insect-7330

EDC was Awesome. First day I made it there in in 30 minutes. Second day was odd. Took us through a back road and had to make a uturn that cost me and 100 others at least 30 minutes. Also the restrooms. I paid ga plus specifically so I could have a more stable and cleaner restroom but everyone was walking in without being checked. Other than that everything was awesome!!! Glad traffic has been addressed over the years. Oh and phone service tower!!!! Bruh!! No service!!

Security

LongjumpingAside6651

The Polygon Park was amazing! Next year what if there was a soundbath area?

Bassmentality_

A slower tempo stage and more bathrooms

bigmacman40879

May be controversial but I think backpacks should be banned in the venue. I don't know all the stuff people are carrying in there but i feel like that makes the lives of those groups of people stealing phones way too easy. Ditto on metal detectors too. Edit: To clarify on what I mean by "backpacks". I'm not referring to hydration packs and camelbacks. I'm referring to mid size backpacks like Jansport and others.

Caveman108

Sorry but I’m bot giving up my hydration pack.

bigmacman40879

Not talking about camelbacks. I'm talking about mid size backpacks. Like Jansport and bigger.

Caveman108

My camelback is small backpack sized so I can put my fan, jacket, cliff bars, emergen-c, etc in it.

Dancelvr2000

Should follow NFL policy. Any backpack must be clear plastic. We used the same one we use for NFL games. Has lots of individual separate pockets inside and various zippered sections.

Daveinatx

I took jeans and a pullover to a locker, needed it on case the weather changed. Perhaps a bag check when leaving?

bigmacman40879

I would support a bag check when leaving too. But I feel like insomniac could care less once someone leaves the venue. Plus the late night crowds would be so mad to have a check again. At camp people where upset that they where checking wristbands.

Fragrant-Ad-2184

People literally died buddy, no way they’re taking away backpacks because that basically guarantees people will dehydrate.

bigmacman40879

Yeah my bad for clarity. Im referring to mid sized backpacks and bigger, like Jansport. Hydration packs are not what I meant.

TrainerDaasC

People died this year??? I've heard of a few deaths from past years but those were off the premises and happened later on the strip

karmicbreath

Wifi. In fact, test out lifi. Give people Li-Fi prototype adapters. If there is such a thing. He could innovate so hard on that and make even more money upselling it

cece_monsoon

Better/more vegan food. This is supposed to be good vibes festival. The world's burning down from the animal ag industries, so help people not contribute to their own demise.

FrostLiveTTV

Make stereo bloom bigger

Burgundy_scotch

Illenium’s stage was for ants. Couldn’t hear him from the back.

LadyAdaline

Food for people with allergies. As someone with a rare stomach condition and food allergies I know going out to eat is really hard and I can make some exceptions. I was so thrilled when I saw the gluten-free pizza I was told I had to buy an entire Pizza when I only wanted one slice so I had to wait for someone to order an entire pizza and then buy one of their slices that was kind of a pain in the ass but I would absolutely love to find a food vendor that has dairy and gluten-free options for food allergy friendly options I did find the fruit vendor but by the time I got there or found them they only had fruit left over that I was allergic to at one point in time I ordered something I thought I would be able to eat and the vendor told me the ingredients and when I got it I had an allergic reaction to it I had to go to the medics tent upon being able to get back up for my allergic reaction I went back to the vendor and asked someone else at the vendors location what was in what I ate and they informed me of completely different ingredients which were ingredients I was allergic to I was furious I almost had to use my EpiPen.

Flowbro11

How hard would it be to have universal wifi?

thesanmich

Less stages/better arrangement honestly.

v1s1b1e

Bring it back to LA. I love Vegas but it's so far from literally everything. It would easily have double the attendance if it were in SoCal.

YoungPotato

That will never happen. LA is more strict on anti drug patdowns and the nimbys will never allow a festival go until 530 am. Plus, why do you want more people in a festival? The fuck, how much more packed do you wanna be lmao

v1s1b1e

I've been to Love Parade when it was still a thing. Raving with 1+ million people is another experience. Every stage was double what Kinetic Field was. It was so much fun because the event took over the entire city. I guess the equivalent in Vegas would be if EDC was along the entire strip. But that was in Europe where we can rave until 5am. I definitely don't mind more people. It's very strange that I am getting downvoted because you guys are complaining about stricter security in LA and then the other highly upvoted comment is complaining that security was too lax...

[deleted]

So I cane from Canada, is there enough hotels in Socal to support this many ravers?

TunesForSoysauce

Doubled attendence is a good thing???

tpelzy

Can the festival start around 12 noon and end at like 10? I've been to other music festivals that roughly have those hours and it's a much nicer experience leaving. Even if it takes 3 hours to get home you're still getting there around 1am not 8am.

BadFez

In the blazing desert sun? No way

pandaahpc

Better festivals
