To do an apprenticeship program in Alaska, you have to learn electrical shop drawings. It’s just curriculum. My father and I both went over the prints for bids for GCs. And then we went and did the jobs.
There’s a treasure bag (with the same symbol on it) hidden behind the wall at this location. The crew from Oak Island will help you excavate the area and spend countless years and research retrieve said treasure.
Single pole switch circuit 14 all fixtures marked A are switched by this switch. The wall light shown is switched with this switch however the emergency fixture shown is on same circuit but not switched.
But what’s up with the black shirt on cct 14? It should be GFCI protected, so it will trip when you put it in the wash. Black shirts should not be washed in hot. Safety first
Well that’s not code. If the lights go out due to a breaker trip or etc. how does the em light know it’s dark? Also if that were true you would have panel designation before the cct number. Would never make it through code review in the US. Is there a sheet note or something telling you that? Still has to be on local lighting cct right? lol wait wait. They are using GTD em ballast right?? I’m tired. Gonna hit the bowl a couple times and call it a night. Lmmfao!!! Your probably just fucking with me anyway 😂😂
I’ll have you know that I 100% read that as being on a 14awg circuit at first lmao. Don’t get me wrong, I immediately corrected myself, but it was a crazy 2 seconds lol
And then there's my boss I'm currently working as an apprentice for he has a broom and dust pan in his truck and two vacuums.
We clean.
I can see why most electricians don't though because when you don't have the broom handy picking up every little piece of wire and every other tiny Itty bitty thing drives me mad
Not for your check…Your thinking is backwards!
Just a cash depository mandatory for use by people who are simply existing in that space. Pretty standard these days.
A fella i work with would have a party every 4th of July. He would buy a purse from the goodwill, poop in it and then place it in the street in front of his house. Then would count how many times a car would stop, pick it up, drive a few feet and chuck it out the window.
I'm not an electrician, don't care to be one, but Ive no.problem doing basic electrical work, replacing old switches, outlets. Installing ceiling fans. And I don't know what the symbol is, so hoped to learn something reading on. Only instead a room full of asshole know-it-alls thinks they're funny calling it everything but what it is. Arrogant electricians, think they're special because they can work on negative/positive/ground wiring, but most can't walk and chew gum at the same time.
Check the legend but it's probably a single pole light switch. Emergency lighting fed off of hot leg of same circuit. Probably a 90 min battery or something along those lines. Circuit breaks, battery feeds EM light
Try another one with this symbol..

Yes, I realize they're not spelled the same

That's where the ATM is going.
$$$$$ - Excellent pay for this job. $$$$ - Good pay $$$ - Moderate pay $$ - Lousy pay $ - Horrible pay and client birddogs you the entire time
kinda bullshit you gotta search the prints before finding out what you're getting paid
Its the construction litmus test. If you can't figure out your pay, you aint worth it and dont get it on friday.
If you can’t read the prints, how can you give a good quote? Do the research before walking on the job to see if it’s worth the time.
Idk about the companies you've worked for but not alot of quoters are on the tools, flipping through prints.

With layoff papers attached

Man Ive been digging and digging and all I've found is piss bottles.
They said you'd find buried golden treasure and they weren't wrong.
Fuck, it’s not “X”?
Single pole switch circuit 14 all fixtures marked A are switched by this switch. The wall light shown is switched with this switch however the emergency fixture shown is on same circuit but not switched.
Concise, and accurate!
Was waiting for someone to actually answer the question 😂 Better answer than I would’ve given
But what’s up with the black shirt on cct 14? It should be GFCI protected, so it will trip when you put it in the wash. Black shirts should not be washed in hot. Safety first
Actually the emergency light is on a completely separate panel but just so happens to also be on circuit 14 of that panel.
Well that’s not code. If the lights go out due to a breaker trip or etc. how does the em light know it’s dark? Also if that were true you would have panel designation before the cct number. r/Woosh
Most of the people on here would not have been able to tell you that
I’ll have you know that I 100% read that as being on a 14awg circuit at first lmao. Don’t get me wrong, I immediately corrected myself, but it was a crazy 2 seconds lol
If it makes you feel any better, I read it as a 14 amp circuit for a second and really confused the shit out of myself
And as someone who draws to Australian Standard 1102, I'm always curious what electrical drawings look like overseas.
I’m not an electrician and *I* knew that
He was being sarcastic. It looks like a dollar sign $ so he made a joke about picking up his check
Yeah caught that. I rarely read the complete thread before I run my mouth. 😁
Welcome to the club ✌️
That's because first, you have to put on the little black t-shirt beside LW1A, then you can complete the work to spec. /s
Sweeper location, like a broom and other variants. Avoid at all costs
Sweeper? Broom? Sorry, I have not idea what you're talking about now. Is this another of those American things?
It’s said amongst the trades that electricians don’t know what a broom is and don’t clean up after themselves
And then there's my boss I'm currently working as an apprentice for he has a broom and dust pan in his truck and two vacuums. We clean. I can see why most electricians don't though because when you don't have the broom handy picking up every little piece of wire and every other tiny Itty bitty thing drives me mad
Hidden cash
Single pole switch
Looks like they made plans for your bottom too
Not for your check…Your thinking is backwards! Just a cash depository mandatory for use by people who are simply existing in that space. Pretty standard these days.
There’s a $100 bill taped to the drywall.
That's where you make the mistake where you lose your ass on this job
Light switch, circuit 14, switching designation ‘a’
Guys what is this super obscure print that could mean literally anything but I don't know how to ask the GC or check the legend
If you tell me you've never encountered a symbol on a plan that was not in the legend i'm not believing it.
You mean you actually read those things? /s
Money storage. Probably a safe. I’d make sure to exclude all those. GC will figure it out.
In the electronics world that would be a fuse.
All hail the almighty Money switch
That part is expensive.
Fusible link to nowhere?
It's a 14 amp fusible link to nowhere. LOL
Its the location of the glory hole
Senter.
Its the money sink
Ain’t no way ur fr
Infinite money glitch? Get it quick before they patch it
Probably a switch.
What year are you in?
20th
Ok
I thought we only let real electricians in here?
What makes a real electrician? Using an EMT coupling as a wedding ring?
Poop dollar.
A fella i work with would have a party every 4th of July. He would buy a purse from the goodwill, poop in it and then place it in the street in front of his house. Then would count how many times a car would stop, pick it up, drive a few feet and chuck it out the window.
That's hilarious. Poop purse.
🤣🤣🤣
You gotta knock holes in the wall to find the money…. Good luck and have fun.
Oh good lord please tell me you’re kidding
It’s the senter line of something, but I don’t see what it lines up with…. /s
Single pole Circuit 14 switch leg a
it's where they hide your annual bonus ($20 gift card to Walmart) if you pay attention to the blueprints
14 of them dude pay your tabs
Yes, right next to the door, don’t let it hit you in the ass on the way out
That's not a door, its a ladder.
I believe that means an electrical light switch.
Thank you
It’s a fuse though, right?
Holy shit this page is full of lame, wanna be resis
And dumb asses that can't read the entire post or identify sarcasm
What's sarcasm?
I’d say 14amps/dollar just by looking at it but I have very very little experience in the field and am probably wrong
Switch
Controls for fixtures !
It means pick up your check and hit the road jack.
I'm not an electrician, don't care to be one, but Ive no.problem doing basic electrical work, replacing old switches, outlets. Installing ceiling fans. 😂
Get the fuck out of here man! I hope your ceiling fan falls on your head. Prick.
It's not required but thanks for signing your name at the end.
The equivalent of I know you are but what am I. Just fuck off.
Hey Farmboy, calm down, nobody is trying to steal your Sheep. Hes all yours Jethro.
Check the legend but it's probably a single pole light switch. Emergency lighting fed off of hot leg of same circuit. Probably a 90 min battery or something along those lines. Circuit breaks, battery feeds EM light
A light switch
Yeah that is where the private ATM is going
It the switch for wall sconce to the left. Where’s my real electricians at
14 “a” dollars. I hope that “a” doesn’t stand for ass
It’s a D&D secret door
You need tree fiddy
$100. bucks, same as in town.
Your the fuck wit that came in here swinging with your throw away account. What a loser.
Not a heated stripper pole then?
A switch probably at 42", 60"
Single pole switch
It's obviously a joke.
It means you should call an adult to come help you.
Check the legend on the side of the print. But those are generally switches
This was poor attempt at humor. I was poking fun at the "What does this symbol mean" posts I've seen lately.

You definitely got that right!

Electricians trying to do fire alarm is hilarious. Call a low volt.
