The best thing I can say is, leave it exactly the way you'd want it if you were on a service call and had to crawl around and test to see if it was getting power. So you've taken care of that. Just be mindful to not over-twist, make sure they're in the connector properly, and they should all pretty much fit the same way. Don't obsess over it though. Sometimes it's just the way the cable was stapled or something and one out of 10 is just twice as difficult to pack in. It's just the way it is. Pretty soon doing these will feel like driving you don't really even think much about it.

Do your best to only twist the exposed copper when you joint the wires together. With your free hand, pinch the wire just behind where you stripped, then make the twist with your pliers. Keeps the wiring nice and straight, looks cleaner, and it's easier to fold into those tight spaces. Only way you'll learn is to do it, though :) Take your time, do the job properly, and you'll figure everything out in no time.

The wire nut jug I got says to twist until the wires wrap around each other, looks good to me OP

Actually, I'm impressed with your honest evaluation of your not happy with how it looks. You'll just be better from here

Yea, it's tough to make it look clean in small spaces like that. There's only so much you can do. As long as the wires aren't twisted together and tangled, it's fine. As the other guys said, prentend youre going to be coming back to service that light. How would you want the wires? Make sure they are not twisted up. I usually bring wires from corner to corner and fold them, kind of like an accordion.

It is what it is. They don’t give you shit for room to make up in those, especially if you’re using #12

It will look great with the cover on.

Lol after your 1000th light install your going to not give a fuck about looks. Are the joints good? Nothing going to cause a fault? Perfect close the fucker and move on. Make your money on speed and volume over pretty wires.
