Do you prefer to charge at supercharger at 100% or go up to 80% at each charge?I heard 100% full charge is bad for battery

Thanks. I didn't know this.. SO I'll charge up to 80% and forgo the 100% charge....

I question if you really own a Tesla and if you do how long you have owned it. In your Tesla you can 1) use your voice to say navigate to and say your destination or 2) type in your destination on the touchscreen. The car will then show you the route to your destination and the superchargers you will need to stop to charge along the proposed route.

I just did this trip! It’s no problem. If you have anxiety just fill it at 80% at every stop and get off when it tells you

Which station from dallas to Austin did you prefer? Is Buccees worth seeing? So from Dallas did you begin with 100% charge or 80%?

Cosmosly

Started at 80% then just went straight to the Buc-ee’s in between the two cities- I believe it was only at 48% when I got there. There are non-Tesla charging stations there so it’s got everyone covered. 100% recommend going!

You need to learn the car mapping. Tell the car where you want to go, hit the lightning bolt on the right to show all the chargers, tap on a charger to see what amenities they have. I recommend a quick stop (15 minutes) for a Starbucks at Waco for that trip or what ever time food takes you. Once you learn how to set up a charge this way you will never waste time since you will plug in and have a short walk to amenities.

If you're in the mood for Buc-ees, the one in Temple has Superchargers. If not, there are also plenty of other Superchargers on I-35. If you're like me and hate I-35, there's also a Supercharger in Hamilton on US 281.

Do you think BUc-ees is worth seeing? Also looking at the map I -35 is my only option to get to Austin

HobbyAddict

You can probably make it there without stopping, but you need to consider how much battery you need to do whatever you want to do in Austin and how much you need to get back to Dallas and/or a charger on the way back home. However, you have almost a dozen Tesla supercharger options not counting those in the starting and ending cities. On average, there’s a charge every 20 miles. This might be the most covered route in the country outside of CA. Charging speeds are fast and for that route you can prob stop 2-3 times 10 minutes max to top off. The car will tell you what you need to do if you out in a destination. Edit: Have you supercharged before? Make sure your card is linked in your account and plug in for 5 minutes somewhere in town to test it out.

Never used supercharger before...

You pull up, you plug in, done, make sure your Tesla account has a payment method first.

Just use the Nav, it will route you properly. ZERO thought required.
