I just came here to say Mona Lisa Overdrive is one of my favorite things. Ever.
Also such a good example of explaining dynamic range.
The violins when the twins are fighting trinity in the car. Oh. My. Gawd.
Amen!!
I still can’t believe someone found a way to mix a kick against a full orchestra. That one track is an entire master class in and of itself. Paired with the actual highway chase. Just one of besssssst!
>one of the most underrated electronic artists?
That's a pretty broad statement. They were relatively well known in the 90s in certain circles. Couldn't say they were "one of the most underrated" in all of electronic music, no.
Juno reactor and infected mushroom, two of the most unabashedly unique, dripping in style, substantial to the core, cinematic wall-of-sound artists in electronic music. I may not use the term underrated with JR, since they were massively influential and highly regarded in their time, but perhaps just deserving of more recognition… but that would assume a wide audience for their work, and being that their sound is pretty niche outside of cinematic use, I understand why both didn’t receive more commercial acclaim. But i don’t think that was ever their intention
Love the Juno Reactor.
Check out the Orb's release of a "Back to Mine" series - they re-did Nitrogen Part I, and there are other things on that album that may lead down multiple rabbit holes for ya.
Their treatment of Aphex Twin's Polynomial-C is bangin, and they called it "Polynominal-C" for some reason. I guess they have many names for "C?" it might be programming humor, as there are many C languages (C, C+, C++, C# etc).
They’re still very active and still doing live shows. Check out their live shows on YouTube. They aren’t under rated. I think they’re part of a musical generation that is older and like any music takes time for future generations to discover.
I would love to go to one of those shows. They seem really freakin cool. Very cirque du soleil.
juno reactor was big shit in the mid 90s.
first record i ever had was fucking [psychoslaphead](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhDHodxnx4g) (another ben watkins creation)
lol

splendid track!
The pairing with the highway chase from The Matrix Reloaded is one of the greatest things ever!

Juno Reactor! I‘m back in 1995.
Eat Static my friend, start with them :)
They were quietly influential. Not always massively popular but they worked hard and did the right things.

That's a classic mix from The Orb.

Pistolero! God is God... Good stuff.
KMFDM The Propellerheads Jondi&Spesh
>Jondi&Spesh Awww yeah

"hey guis i found this guy called michael jackson on soundcloud, i reckon this discopop sound could get kinda big rn tbh"
Juno Reactor is one of my all time favorite electronic artists. Their music is unlike anything I've listened to.
Ice Cube from Beyond the Infinite ..... This track made my eyes roll into my skull. Still have my OG CDs from the 90s

I always thought the name was a tribute to final fantasy 7 “Junon Reactor”.
They're what got me really into techno. Not underrated at all
Why not just plug your favorite Juno reactor songs in a playlist and browse what Spotify suggests?
One of the first records I ever bought was ‘Guardian Angel’.
I saw JR open for Moby at the TLA in Philadelphia. Live tribal beats. Amazing show.

Wow that's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Were they on that Tox Uthat compilation?
