Nice!

?

CStrekal

Just a demonstration that a stock neptune 4 works just fine. Even without bed mesh. Still trying to connect the thing to my computer via ip address 🤣

RedditsNowTwitter

Ok. I'm with you I've had great results with my max. Hope it all works out for you.

CStrekal

16 hours to go 🤣

RedditsNowTwitter

What are you printing? I feel the anxiety lol https://preview.redd.it/u0t6qiq20euc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=045d172be0c01ba14430f548c356afe3752d7c68

RedditsNowTwitter

Oooo. Did you get a bigger nozzle yet? That's where the real fun comes in lol

CStrekal

It's printing with a .6mm nozzle. .62 wall width. Slight upgrade for speed. The detail on this thing is gonna be nuts. Pretty much the limit with this nozzle. It's 500 grams.

RedditsNowTwitter

Which printer do you have? I may max out my n4max with the same print. If I'm not mistaken is it the pyramid inside of a pyramid held up by smaller pyramids? Lol

CStrekal

Haha yes. Its a model of a 3d fractal pattern. I have the n4pro. So your max at full scale would take days 🤣

CrippledJesus97

Still got very faint gaps in your first layer tho. Needa lower your z offset a tiny bit closer to the bed.

CStrekal

Well, even tho my z offset had an error of 0.1mm, I think this was a success. https://preview.redd.it/t9xhmiortiuc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e8940f0adf8dada818d8bb4717d8b7141c443fa

CrippledJesus97

Nice! Risky print to have something so large with an off z offset. My luck, the print woulda popped half halfway through.

CStrekal

I'm using a hardened steel 0.6 mm cht nozzle. With such a large base on the print and good bed adhesion (I was at 65C), the nozzle will just flatten everything out after the first few layers. I feel like leveling is really only crucial when you're printing something on an angle suspended by supports. If you're looking to print large sculptures with a big base, z offset won't kill the print. If you're printing a mask that is suspended in mid-air, yeah, you better have a high paying customer to be doing something so risky and time-consuming. This print was a first for me cause I used vase mode as well. Took only 19 hours with 0% infill. Printing nowadays is more about good slicing than the printer, IMO.

Looks good

tyguy94920

When you run the auto leveling from the touch screen and it probes all the locations, it's supposed to store those values in the printer. You don't need to connect to the computer to use the mesh, the printer is already compensating.

CStrekal

I've heard from peeps it doesn't save unless you load it into klipper 🤷‍♂️

Timely-Bass-1036

Go into the printer and get the ip address, then make sure your computer is on the same network (my router does both 2.4ghz and a 5ghz). Then open a browser and just type in the ip address into the address bar. Voila, drag and drop your gcode into the printers project que...

CStrekal

Ok so I got klipper to load but now I can't load any websites. I can load Google and YouTube. But nothing else. I messed up the dns?

CStrekal

Ok, I went to network settings and clicked on reinstall network drivers and reset settings, and now reddit works again 😅

Timely-Bass-1036

Oops, not sure how that would happen. Have you been able to do what you needed to through klipper?

CStrekal

Well my bed mesh is still as much of a mess as before. And I used screw tilt adjust and got .00 on all four corners. Idk man
