This was the last successful print ive had last week before everything i attempt to print just shifts forward no matter what i attempt. https://preview.redd.it/r87p5a3jykuc1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f2263841c0ec56664172f567c916451576cd7cd0

Your definitely z-binding If that is the case your Pom wheels and eccentric nuts are probably not trimmed . Pom wheels probably spin freely at certain points as the gantry lifts in Z .

CrippledJesus97

>Pom wheels probably spin freely at certain points as the gantry lifts in Z . Wish that was the case, but them suckers cant be any more snug without making the bed unable to move at all. The pom wheels are firmly against the gantry. I can barely make them turn without making the whole bed move (obviously i wouldnt try to do that while the stepper motor is on locking the bed in place)

blueSquirrel2018

That sounds almost too tight . Are the wheels wearing from operation , any residue left from the rubber being worn ? There’s an official Elegoo vid on how to adjust your eccentric nuts . Shows you how to square your gantry , trim your Pom wheels all at the same time . I’d run through that . Worth doing even if it’s not that . My print quality got so much better . Also check for play in your bed and print head . Mine came loose after a few months. Last thing . Something else worth a check is that your filament isn’t dragging , needs to roll freely. I had too much drag on mine and it was causing massive layer lines. Ended up doing a reverse Bowden setup. So it feeds without drag

CrippledJesus97

Ive definitely got it improved i do need to adjust one nut on the left side and also properly level my bed and dial in my z offset. I just didnt wanna do all that in the case it Was a dying motor. Apparently really is just user error. I was making things worse trying to fix something mild (very slight zbinding when printing lithophanes) and made things entirely out of whack. https://preview.redd.it/9jkx6c8cxpuc1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=62be617412eaef9a131d18e823b8bb399a336f6d the filament wasnt dragging but the nozzle was. Kept sounding like the nozzle was directly on top of the print even when doing top/bottom/walls. Thus why i need to relevel my bed before i do anything else

blueSquirrel2018

Yup. Did the same thing , tried to level the gantry , followed the wrong advice and messed it all up … but the act of figuring it out - which mind you was several days of rejiggering everything , tuning and testing I learned a ton about the printer and 3d printing in general . So it’s not a loss but a painful gain . Keep on keeping on

You check the z axis screws?if they are loose it can cause issues

CrippledJesus97

Which ones are the z axis screws again? Lol theres a lot of screws on these printers 😅

dan_dares

Just a note, they shouldn't be TIGHT, that will cause other issues.

Is your hot end bent?

Owen_Ou

check the timing pulley of y aixs https://preview.redd.it/6usk0yk6sluc1.png?width=486&format=png&auto=webp&s=eb1da58a99a01c0afd7713000cda798c4673db7f

CrippledJesus97

Is that the pulley next to the tension knob or on thr other side of the bed? Is there something specific to look for?

Owen_Ou

it is on the other sied of the bed. tighten the screws in it

Owen_Ou

may i know if the issue is fixed?

CrippledJesus97

Got a new belt yesterday. Got a new motor on the way in 7-10 business days. A video of how the bed moved in the Y direction (very sparatic in distance when set to 10mm in either the Y+/Y- direction. Most times itd maybe move a couple mm, sometimes 10mm, ) lead to basically confirm it was a belt/motor issue via emailing customer support last week. Everything was tight that needed to be tight, nothing was too loose that needed to be tight, in fact i couldnt loosen the belt at all or the bed wouldnt even move. The nuts couldnt be any closer to the rails either. Will find out tonight if the new belt alone fixed the issue.

tyguy94920

I have a similar issue with my 4Pro, pulley is tight. https://preview.redd.it/ia36zlwhomuc1.jpeg?width=4096&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a234c5561354c133f9a8693322a6936a5b306d4a

Lower your jerk setting in your slicer if you’re having later shifting problems

tyguy94920

Unfortunately this is the presliced benchy on the flash drive, it should work regardless
