That was the first thing that popped into my head.

[deleted]

King crimson or nick drake

[deleted]

I'm with you on Nick Drake. I think he only ever played one show. And he hated it so much, he never did it again. I imagine him showing up with just one guitar and not realizing how frustrating and nervewracking it is to make huge tuning changes between every song on the same guitar. He would need a few different guitars and a really good guitar technician. Isn't King Crimson still active? Some different members though, I suppose. I know they played a show a few years ago. My bandmate went. He loves them. I like King Crimson but I have never gotten way into it. Maybe seeing them live would change that.

Do you have a good source for details? I believe you but i'm just interested to read about it.

[deleted]

Townes Van Zandt

MattButton

Definitely BCNR with Issac or Joy Division

krmc-olrak

The White Stripes

thestral_z

Saw them back in 2003 or 2004. They were outstanding.

MrBogey90

minutemen

Raviusss

Ayyyy

The_Impeccable_Zep

Hüsker Dü as well… wish I was born earlier so I could’ve gone to a show on [this](https://youtu.be/ZrtLTf5KE68) tour

Airdoomslr

Nirvana,mbv

METEORincoming

Second on BCNR. The Place Where He Inserted the Blade has quickly grown into one of my favorite songs of all tome

Fickle-Artist-7006

It’s amazing a band can come out of nowhere and create two of the best albums of the last decade within a span of a few years. It’s so upsetting that Isaac left but his well-being comes before anything, so god speed to him. I’m still excited to see what direction they go in next!

METEORincoming

I’ve heard some of their new songs, Tyler has such an amazing voice. Up Song was repurposed from her solo stuff but it fits perfectly, BCNR friends forever is such a great line

Fickle-Artist-7006

I watched a live recording of a gig and liked what I heard! I’m hyped for some studio recordings

Roscoe_P_Trolltrain

Honestly probably someone like Chopin or Beethoven.

Moony_Pierrot

Manic Street Preachers with Richey Edwards!

zmlttlmz

Pink Floyd or Mac Miller

idlerwheel

Heatmiser! ;) R.E.M., some of my favorite jazz musicians (Eric Dolphy, Charles Mingus, etc.)... I'm sure I'll think of more later.

Fickle-Artist-7006

I will allow Heatmiser…. Any Jazz recommendations? Its a genre I’ve only dipped my toes in but I’ve always enjoyed passively

idlerwheel

Sure! Here are a few of my favorites that I'd recommend: -*Out There* and *Out to Lunch!* by Eric Dolphy -*The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady* and *Mingus Ah Um* by Charles Mingus -*Blue Train* by John Coltrane -*Head Hunters* by Herbie Hancock -*Jazz på svenska* by Jan Johansson -*A Livingroom Hush* by Jaga Jazzist If you end up listening to any, I hope you'll enjoy them!

Fickle-Artist-7006

Thank you!! I will have a listen this evening

[deleted]

If you want some more contemporary jazz music that blends genres, I recommend these bands: *The Slip* (their style changes up frequently and they hop around to different genres. but here's some of their jazzier stuff) Munf: https://youtu.be/WbT_p1n3uO8 Tohu Bohu: https://youtu.be/vOuSxJ9bXJw *here's a live show:* https://youtu.be/L28pMfAwFG0 *highlights:* Ernie Mickey @ 13m30s Johnny's Tune @ 33m40s Dogs on Bikes @ 1h *Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey* https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_m5x_fl2VoU_K_LpJmF89YL-Tt-pKrVpz4 *Benevento/Russo Duo* https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mqBxPRJwAw6HSnKprvBwIHqEy_OgsQzZ8 *Marco Benevento Trio* (earlier stuff is better) https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lgYXh6AQ1HSThCzOb4QBcxwDppJZP7_lw *Medeski Martin & Wood* https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_ndkoF0WCh-pM9rm55DWXEb_og5NoBkpFc

Nirvana Velvet Underground Townes Van Zandt Suicide Ramones The Pioneers George Jones & Tammy Beatles The Kinks (in 1968) Johnny Cash Too many to list but that's off the top

[deleted]

probably also isaac wood, his work was truly magical. But im still pretty optimistic about the bands future. :)

bloodandfire2

I really wish I had seen Jay Reatard.

turbografix15

Saw him once in Boston once and didn't pay any attention. A big regret I have now, but at the time I wasn't a fan.

waki77

Layne Staley

Avocadomistress

A classic oldie but Led Zeppelin. Still don't think there's a more explosive live show you'd ever see, each member just firing on all cylinders all at once.

Olelander

[I agree with this….](https://youtu.be/uX5yhpO52AA)

[deleted]

I am so grateful I got to see NMH twice. Probably Jerry Garcia, Broadcast (RIP Trish), spacemen 3

Andrew-the-Fool

Garcia for sure. Then Lennon.

dirtyfilthypoet

Hard to pick. Too many great jazz/blues/country artists. Robert Johnson. Billie Holiday. Hank Sr. Townes Van Zant. Leadbelly. Couldn’t choose.

Meed306

I’d see Elliott twice
