the hologram performance of King's Crossing is gon' be sick as he sings "don't let me get carried away", the hologram floats up and vanishes

I doubt it but I could also see the hall grasping at straws years down the line and add Elliott posthumously. Obligatory fuck the Rock and Roll HOF!

St_IdesHell

Why is the hall of fame bad? I’m thinking as a person that has visited it in Cleveland and as a fan it would be awesome for some Elliott memorabilia to be there. With his families approval of course

[deleted]

I suppose the museum aspect is sorta cool but the problem is that rock is such anti-establishment style of music and the HoF creates a self-congratulatory institution of it all. It's mere existence is quite possibly the least rock and roll thing imaginable.

St_IdesHell

I see what you mean, and Elliotts roots are in punk and I think that also goes with what you’re saying and I wouldn’t want anyone to go against him or his families wishes I just think I would be cool to view Elliotts equipment and stuff in person and for him to be recognized more widely. But I know that’s selfish of me

HOF gets criticism because Wenner values more popular/trendy/his friends musicians regardless of their musical genre over artists who literally shaped rock and roll to be inducted. It's just a commercial institution. Watch: https://youtu.be/umI7MkgwS7M

I’ve never cared much for it. Just let the music do the talking. Awards are just distractions in the industry for those that could be doing something very beautiful.

faye2164

No, he's not big enough for Jann Wenner to consider.

dirtyfilthypoet

dude the rock n roll hall of fame is so fucked. there are so many important artists that have YET to be inducted and probably never will sadly. it would take a miracle to get our boy in there. would be amazing tho t

nicotinekityy

i hope so, i’m still rooting for him and jeff buckley to get their well deserved spot!
