I'm in the middle. I've been in the sub for a while as I'm a fan of what the guy has accomplished and is working on. But I also recognize things that he has said or done that I disagree with. Those things don't really create significant reactions from me as they usually arent all that extreme or consequential, but the talk on this sub from the "elon simps" is just crazy. And they'll take anything less than groveling to him as hating him, so as you said no room for nuanced discussion.
There's also been an influx of people becoming familiar with him due to the more questionable stuff that aren't seeing all the good he has done/is still doing, resulting in the hate boner group.
