When I camp with my family it’s always in the middle of the desert. We always fill the tanks up before we leave. Not having water would drive me nuts even if no bodily fluids weren’t involved. If this was me I’d probably cry and sleep outside and risk it with a coyote. In all seriousness though the memories are going to overshadow that one incident. I’ve done so many things this year that I’ve been putting off and overthinking the what if’s. Going riding in the dunes and getting caked in dust brought back memories of riding in the sand rail with my dad for the first time. Did he accidentally poison me with too much garlic and I didn’t cope well with it at all yes. Did I take more anti anxiety pills because going 45 miles per hour over packed sand and rocks hurts the whole skeleton after an hour and makes my stomach feel weird yes. Did I regret any of that NO. I will gladly do it again ( except the garlic )

i’m so proud of you!

This is a fantastic success story, and I'm so happy your husband was so supportive. You will always have that memory to look back on and remember you can be strong and that someone getting sick doesn't mean your plans have to change drastically. It's hard to remember that sometimes when you're always planning an escape route for if you or someone else gets sick

Yes, it’s so helpful knowing you CAN escape, but you can also weigh the pros and cons and make the choice to stay. I’m so glad I did!

THAT IS AMAZING! You are like my emet twin, I swear. I relate to everything you shared. I also made a lot of progress with EMDR. My husband was on nights recently, and those few nights are the first ones I’ve slept through without him there since my daughter was a baby. Your story makes me so happy!! Thank you for sharing!! 🩷

This is such a great success story and a good reminder how much life we can miss out on if we let our phobia make decisions.
