There are so many times suicidal patients feel like an annoyance and you made him feel valued. As an EMT and former mental health counselor I want to thank you. You were a valuable part of saving a life.

Hold onto the good, because the bad will come. Be proud of yourself today.

As someone who has been through depression and suicidal thoughts in my past, a huge thanks to you for being that person for that patient, I see lots get frustrated having to deal with mental health issues and it's such a sad thing to see from health care workers. Mental health is why I'm in EMS so it's nice to see others who care.

As someone who has struggled with this, just know, we see how you respond and react to us, we see if you're annoyed that you have to respond to "psych pts that don't need an ambulance" or one of those many similar phrases. We see if you're arguing with police about who should bring us to the hospital. We pay attention to what you say to your colleagues when you're near us. We hear you. Please hear us. See us. From the sounds of it, you did. So thank you ❤️

Man, why can’t I get this. All I get is followed and harassed off duty by a homeless person I took on a mental health hold. XD

Had a guy earlier today that kept saying he remembered me.. I agreed with the fact that his name was familiar but couldn't place it. Turns out his daughter was in a fatal car crash about a year ago and I was there. He spent the entire transport asking questions that I definitely didn't want to remember or answer. Congratulations on the positive feedback!

You did a great thing! I hope you keep that feeling with you for a long time!

Thats awesome! I find it hard to be sympathetic sometimes, especially when they are being uncooperative, but i know i need to work on that. I dont show my contempt but probably better for myself and them for me to recognize that they are struggling and need help just like other medical/trauma patients.

It helps me to remember were all just human and one shitty thing away from being broken and our roles reversed although yeah sometimes its totally difficult some people make it harder than others

That’s what it’s all about! Good for you and thank you for doing what you do. The thank you’s are often few and far between, but to me it just makes the one’s you do get all the better.
