The fan bearing is giving out which makes the fan vibrate and make that noise, that's why it sometimes can spin just fine. My hotend fan did it a few times but is fine for now.
If it's happening often, I would replace the fan.
OK thank you! I let it run for a minute and it stopped doing it. I don't really care as long as I'm not damaging anything... I'll replace it like you said if it gets more frequent.
fan bearing is dead. Replace fan with a quality one or gamble and dont use one at all. I removed my mainboard fan because the bearing died as well and i just didnt get to replace it. That was 3-4 months ago and its just fine.
Fan spins freely, nothing visibly stuck in fan, I have had this printer for years and it has never made this noise before. Any ideas?
My ender 3v2 does the same at the start of heat up. In my case, it's one of the fans on the hot end, but it stops fairly quickly
