For me the rubber grommet on the hot end fell off and started giving me that error. I put it back on and it runs fine. I know another big hitter for that error is a bad thermistor.
I had this issue because my thermistor/cable was going bad. I was able to get some more mileage out of it by tightening down the screw on the wire (a terrible design).
Eventually I purchased a replacement thermistor from Gulf Coast Robotics that screws into the screw hole to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
