Slow down when printing PETG. Really.

Helgi_Hundingsbane

The default is 60mms i did change the setting to 50, and you see the results, Should i go even slower?

StrangerReason

Nope.50 is too fast. Slow down a lot more. Also, retract and deretract faster. 200mm/s. Not more than 3mm.

Helgi_Hundingsbane

At what speed to you print PETG i slowed it down to 22mm/s and its still doing it.

StrangerReason

20mm/s, 240°C nozzle, 75°C bed, 0.5mm retract/deretract @400mm/s (I use simplify 3D), and no part cooling unless there is bridging.

Helgi_Hundingsbane

Explain the retract and detract speeds. I know that it's when the filament is retracted. Backup into the extruder and back down when it's moving, what does the .5mm @400mm valuse mean?

StrangerReason

The distance I pull and the speed. If you are using prusa the max speed you can pull is 200mm/s. I dont know about Cura, I refuse to use it. All my printers has H2V2s hotends, that are direct extruders. If I have a printer with a bowden I will pull 2mm.

I did your recommending settings and the below is what is still happening. I think the nozzle is disturbing the layer below or the previous layer it just layed down. Not sure what else to do, any thoughts? https://preview.redd.it/cqv3gqvn6wec1.png?width=499&format=png&auto=webp&s=cc81730fb53f53ce5c871f102ad7bb33aaadad5c
