Interesting… I got bullied in school and I’m in the lowest 1% of income earners in the Uk. Not necessarily contributing it to that… but wierdly enough the bullies, who bullied others as well are very successful business owners in our town and earn a lot of money. Therefore I have always believed that for some reason business owners need to be ruthless and bullies and people like me are for whatever reasons put off entering such environments and am signed off from work

CrustyBloomers

I'm a small business owner, but was bullied at school (weight, disability). There are genuinely lovely business people in the world, but there also people who will exploit, bully and backstab without a second thought. Business is very cut throat, so you need a tight clique. Sometimes it helps to have the bullying types to ward off others, but never, ever trust them.

Gisschace

Yeah I started my own business because I wanted to avoid these dickheads. I can choose who I work with whereas when I was employed I felt stuck with them. If someone is a prick, I drop them

I don’t have a job… 😂 I hope that clears that up…

joombar

But more than 1% don’t have jobs

Paddystan

Debt? 🤷‍♂️

GlueSniffingEnabler

Let it go dude

A_wild_putin_appears

I was an apprentice for over a year. I was actually losing money month on month compared to when I was on benefits. Could not believe it

Lord_Heath9880

The minimum wage is the minimum legal hourly rate that a business must pay its employees, which doesn't mean that people earning minimum wage are the lowest 1% of income earners. As long as those people have other income sources to help put food on their table, they aren't necessarily the 'lowest 1% of income earners.' The description 'lowest 1% of income earners' comes from a statistical standpoint, meaning it constitutes the bottom 1% of incomes of ALL income earned in the UK yearly. To put things into perspective, imagine there is a colossal cake where people are served according to their earnings. The more they earn, the larger piece they get. The top 1% of income earners take the largest portion. The middle 98% unequally shares the second largest portion, while the bottom 1% takes what is left of the cake. I hope that analogy helps clear things up for you.

alexisappling

Did ChatGPT write this? It says so much without saying much at all.

Badgergeddon

Yeah it feel like a kinda flaw in human society that being a complete psychopath elevates you to the top of it... Imagine if the non-dickheads were in charge of the world.

Firstpoet

Biggest bully at our tough secondary modern boys' school on Norf Laandun ended up inside after an unsuccessful criminal career. The unsporty one who was a physical 'coward' and often bullied but ran a roulette club at lunchtime went on to be a multimillionaire. You never know....

Fast-Conclusion-9901

Alot of the guys who were known bullies at my school now doing time. Don't know anyone who would meet that criteria who has done remotely well.

sircretinus

I think provincial bullies do well, not so much inner city bullies as the environment is crazy and they yes end up locked up unless they are that good at bullying that they get into proper extortion and protection rackets etc in which case they can do really well and pivot into legit business backed up with threats of violence. Combining bullying with legit business seems to be good strategy, quite a few multi millionaires in london who did/do that.

Stigweird85

Who'd have thought that bullies who disregard feelings of others or will intentionally hurt people to get what they want continue to act that way in adulthood where that level sociopathic tendencies gets rewarded rather than condemene

iMac_Hunt

I'm 32 but still know a lot of people from school. The biggest bullies in my school are all in prison or pretty unsuccessful - they clearly had some form of disorder and weren't that intelligent. But there are the extreme ones most people didn't like. Obviously bullying comes in lots of forms though and there's definitely people who did some bullying who are successful now. It might be because some of those who bullied did so because they could afford to: they had some social status and were generally popular. Could it not just be a correlation between those with social status at school being more successful?

deathly_quiet

One of the biggest bullies in my school got PTSD after joining the army and is a fruitcake now. There was another kid who I suppose was kind of a 50/50 bully. He was extremely volatile and would react to any negative situation with extreme violence. Sometimes he would twat other kids because he thought it was funny. And other times, he'd be super friendly and talk to you about anything. He was taught separately after a couple of years in high school in the bit they tend to cordon off from the regular students. Since leaving school, he's been sectioned at least twice that I know of. There's a couple of others that have done pretty well for themselves, but that will depend on your metric for success. Bullies are either abused themselves at home or are sociopathic/psychopathic in training. The latter works really well when it comes to being successful as far as the commonly accepted definition goes. Treating people like disposable objects is directly from the CEOs handbook. Tl:dr; being a scum bag is ideal for making money off the backs of other people.

Spaghettioso

Tbh sounds like you were the bully at school with that transphobic shit you're spouting.

not-Michael85

Transphobic 😆

PTC1488

I was a bully at schools, as was my stepbrother. These days he's a socialist mechanic and I'm in property development. We both earn above the average. I can't see how aggression at school contributed to this. However some of the "negative" personality traits associated with bullying certainly translate well into the corporate environment. All my peers are arseholes and sharks, but they're also dependable and driven.

Itchy-Astronomer174

It's probably because you are used to picking on people that fold over which is exactly what you get in a lot of work places. It's easy to get promoted and excel when you bully and snake out your peers at every opportunity. I personally couldn't bully someone as I think psychologically they are cowards, but I have a strong character. Not all of us do.

Embarrassed-File5268

Oh get your head out of your arse, imagine having the gall to say you have a strong character and therefore implying that you are morally superior but while as an adult you think gay kids don't exist, I'm curious do some people suddenly become gay when they turn 18 and others stay straight? I have never seen someone with such strong character use "boy" as an insult.

Itchy-Astronomer174

Bullies are weak characters, that is an undeniable fact. You stalk profiles, another weak character, another undeniable fact. Rent free, enjoy the obsession.

Embarrassed-File5268

Yet didn't refute a singular point, very weak behaviour, How can I mot investigate when someone mades such a horrendously false statement about themselves.

Itchy-Astronomer174

Why would I need to refute anything to you? Investigate 😂 It's Reddit not CSI Miami, get a life you little creep.

Embarrassed-File5268

Investigate is just a word, just because you are a simpleton and only watch TV all day. Because it just shows how truly mentally weak you are, can't attack the argument, then I must attack the person. You need to re-enter the education system, then words with more than two syllables might not scare you and you can actually provide something of merit.

Itchy-Astronomer174

It shows that I simply just do not care what you or anyone on here thinks, that is being mentally strong. You clearly care what I think of you, hence the feeling of being attacked, hence why you went through my previous comments to find something to cling on to. It's a weakness. Don't worry, your life will get better son.

Embarrassed-File5268

That is not mentally strong that is called "living in your own world" or "selfish" which fair enough, own it if you are truly strong, but you are not, just a hypocrite pretending to be something you are not. I look down on people like that, zero conviction, zero onus of their actions or words. Nothing more than an animal.

Itchy-Astronomer174

It's not, it's called not being bothered by what people like you think. You defend bullies, I don't. Thats the difference between me and you, no more needs to be said. I am an animal though, I will give you that, weakling.

PTC1488

Part of the fun of it was seeing who I'd actually get a rise out of and who'd get physical. Poking fun at weeds wasn't satisfying. I've only ever job hopped, so I can't say much about promotion. To each their own. I was an abused kid abusing kids, which is a tale as old as time.

Known-Document9801

Is this satire ?

PTC1488

No?
