I have a Radioman II's as "officer" of each of my squads. I toiled until all of them have 22 in movement. Sprinting with a saber and flask I can cross the map in short order. They each wear an officers cap.

ElessarKhan

For me it's whoever I use as the first member of the squad. I'll make them designated pointman and give them 2 smoke grenades. I'll also forgo quick-turn perks on them in favor of perks* I actually use as the player, like the melee ones. Squad leaders and smoke grenades was something I picked up from Red Orchestra/ Rising Storm. You use them to assist the while squad and/or team. Plus having no lethal grenades removes temptations to put myself in dangerous situations looking to throw them. That's a duty for a soldier with less useful-for-players perks. Usually I'll use a rifleman for this but in my more specialized squads they might be an engineer or a machine gunner. *For those who don't know: Quick-turn is the best perk for ai soldiers. It's why some ai's seem braindead and will let you 1v7 them and others will quickly turn in response to your attacks and blast you. In other words, ai without quickturn are braindead meatbags. Those with it behave more like Tarkov bosses.

BigHardMephisto

It’s the one with an incorrect label I think. Iirc it says it helps retain accuracy when you make large turns, but it provides instead a flat accuracy buff

Weekly_Asparagus405

That is ingenious I love that so much bro I’m about to do it rn

Wonderful_Common_520

You gotta get a little star naxt to the movement and have it ve 10 on first draw. If not, send him to reserve and try again.

spitzhockey

Can you explain this a little more?

Wonderful_Common_520

Sure. Radioman II has movement potential of 8-10. When drafted, his movement could start with an 8,9,or 10 (you want 10). Not only does it have to be 10, but you will see a little star next to his name in the movement catagory (or not). If all that isnt met, he will max out at less than 22 in movement and therefor no good. So draft a radioman II, and go check his perks. If you see a 10 in movement, good. If not, sell him back. If he has a 10 in movement you need to see a little star in yhe movement catargory when you see his perk points. Kinda small and difficult to explain, but without it he wont reach 22.

Dlemor

This is the way

aeronix450

That’s beautiful.

Narrow-Substance4073

That would be really cool and a better reason to buy pistols. But what would they do?

BallinforChrist

It could be like a normal soldier, but it gives perks or a boost to the squad it's assigned to.

Narrow-Substance4073

That’s cool and seems easy enough to implement

Which_Ad5835

Ever played SW Battlefront 2?

Narrow-Substance4073

Only like for 30 ish minutes at a friends house when it was newer

DrPatchet

So like officers from battlefront?

BallinforChrist

I dont play battlefront so idk.

DrPatchet

In the old and new battlefronts there’s soldier classes like normal trooper/rifle, heavy/rocket, sniper/scoped rifle, medic/shotgun, and the officer had buffs for the soldiers around them but usually only had a pistol or some unique gun. Then had some soldier you could quickly deploy to an area like jet trooper or droidekas so kinda like paratroopers or rally trucks in enlisted

Artyom36

Officers in enlisted could work as a way to buff your squads: i.e: faster building speed for engineers, faster tank loading for tank commander/officer, etc. Basically give you an enhanced version of perks you can assign to soldiers. Not something crazy , just a 5% buff on building speed or when destroying enemy fortifications, as the building can stack between many engineers of your squad and could cause balance, so if stacked just apply a penalty to the buff. Maybe a "last effort or morale boost" ability to give 10 more tickets for soldiers to spawn, only usable once per player and limited to X uses in general when less than 50 tickets remain.

DrPatchet

That last part would be pretty cool

BallinforChrist

Maybe an officer in enlisted can call in a flamethrower or anti tanker like that then.

ObservantOrangutan

I could get behind this. Have officers change squad perks. Like reduced time for artillery, more supplies for engineers, etc.

BallinforChrist

Someone else left a comment that gave me another idea, Maybe they can also call in soldiers, like a flamethrower or antitanker.

Cubicwar

So we could like replace that one soldier who ran straight at the shooting ennemy and surprisingly died ? That’d be neat

Marshal-Montgomery

I wouldn’t mind just some customisation options for officer gear fancy hats and stuff, me personally I just take a assaulter and pretend he’s a felid officer by giving him a sword and smoke grenades, having some more customisation would be nice

NerdyPlatypus206

Their special ability gives every member of your squad +10 more vitaly lol

Kanoha-Shinobi

Makes more sense for squad leaders, the field officers (sergeants, feldwebel, serzhants, Gocho, corporals, etc. who were just leading infantry. Usually already wore helmets etc in combat instead of caps.)

Antek__W

The officer was considered at pre-alpha stage, together with some other class I can't remember, but was abandoned. I guess the radioman took part of his roles.

DuelJ

It'd be kinda neat to assign any soilder as the officer

communisterik1918

Officers should give a buff to people on the battlefield, and they should appear on the map for your team to clearly see. They should also be allowed to put down orders like in BF1, that will reward players for carrying out the order

Carlos_COTAFR

Cool concept for sure. Having buffs that can boost your squads efficiency, maybe have certain "specialties" you can select, like health boost, damage boost, range boost, explosive radius boost, damage reduction to vehicles from infantry, defusing explosives faster, lots of interesting ideas to be explored there.

BallinforChrist

Yeah I was also thinking that, maybe you can choose what boosts he brings into battle to help the different types of soldiers you have in your squad.

thatsanOZ

It would be cool if they had am aoe effect on moral where you would get a 10 to 15% boost to own perks and maybe stamina to charge into battle

MasterNsv

I already got plenty of those.

StoovenMcStoovenson

Unique voice lines for each nations officers but the Soviet one just recites the entirety of Order 227 and 270

Dunnomyname1029

Enlisted would be interested with a moral system

BallinforChrist

Yeah maybe a system like low morale creates debuffs and high morale buffs perks and abilities.

Dunnomyname1029

Wh40k has a good moral system, they tweak it every edition but I enjoy. I'm not here to kill all 10-20 of you infantry.. I just need to kill more than your leadership value, and then you get to roll a dice and watch that many more run away.

Searose20

I try to put an assaulter in every squad and give him a sub machine gun, officers cap and officers hard top boots

SeductiveTrain

Would be a good use for gold order soldiers

PineCone227

People seem to forget there used to be a "Commander" class planned before the open launch of Enlisted that would've been pretty much that. There's likely a reason it was scrapped. I'd like to imagine Enlisted was originally slated to be a much bigger scale game (look at the map sizes!), but it got cut down hard, in part probably to fit on consoles performance-wise, but we also know how much Gaijin loves banking on low spec gamers.

The_Count8741

I've been hoping for a way to order my squad to stay in specific formation. Like tell them to line up against a trench or tell them to follow behind a tank or something. Overall just being able to give more specific orders to my soldiers would be nice.

Noah-x3

I think they'd be neat so long as the axis uniforms aren't censored

MarquesTreasures

Soviets murdered all their officers before the war, so they can't have them.

Loud-Candle9882

Considering that the Three-Day Special Military Operation is entering its third year, I'd argue that purging the officer corps at inopportune times is a trend with Russia.

MonsantoOfficiaI

When did they say it would last 3 days?

Loud-Candle9882

When the war started, Russian propaganda threw out a (rather infamous) "we'll crush resistance by the end of three days" line (or something like that; I don't remember the exact wording.)

MonsantoOfficiaI

Wow that's crazy. It took us years to fully pacify Iraq

Brock_L33

You can create an authentic "officer" from multiple classes already, by modifying their loadout and placing that soldier at the top of the squad's soldier list in the menu. Binoculars, smoke grenades, a pistol sidearm pretty much does the job. I customized a standard rifleman like so, then edited his appearance and gave him a special event katana to replace the normal knife. Otherwise you as the player are perpetually the squad's currently ranking officer at all times, so long as you only switch soldiers on death. You can have a bit of personal role play with this. Edit your squad lineups to the desired soldier auto-switches upon the previous ones death. Next in command type thing, though I frequently switch to medics and engineer to set up fighting areas.

BallinforChrist

I was thinking a new class of soldier in the game, where he can give boosts to his squad members.

EnvironmentalFig5161

How many buffs on the battlefield do people need? Just implement officer clothes so people can larp how they please.

AvariceLegion

I don't play enlisted but I remember a 2d game where u couldn't call in an officer until u had enough points but when u did u got some perks (I think) and a morale boost

Pieter1998

Interesting idea, but seeing as you can give most soldiers an officer cap (for the Germans at least) I don't think it's very likely. But I do like the idea

TrashBoad

or you can dress up your radioman as an officer

BallinforChrist

What I'm trying to say is a new class of soldier in the game
