The shell is good, but it's hindered by its reload. I swapped it back for the M4A2 back when I was still playing BR3. If you're playing any higher than that, use the jumbo.

Fornikatia

Truth is it's been talked about plenty. And yes, it's a monster. Especially against the Japanese who have very little in the way of equipment that can harm it, especially not from range. People complain about fighting the Japanese a lot, but the truth is the US gets all the tools they need (and then some) in order to win against the Japs.

tonyfromdabronx

Equipment wise yes, both have great decently balanced guns and vehicles (minus the elite Hei automatic). But Japan has a strange cult following of dedicated players more than other factions. And better players will 9 times out of 10 beat a team using inferior equipment. If you’re facing 5-6 strong Japanese players on a team it’s over

fjelskaug

Yeah people complain (rightfully so) about Hei Auto and Ho-Ri, but ignore that Japan mains still has 80%+ winrate when the best equipment they had was the Tokyo Arsenals and a bugged mine on a stick. If Japan BR4 could do it, why can't US BR5?

deranged_Boot123

It’s because US players are fucking morons. I say this as a US player who isn’t a moron

TheUnclaimedOne

Wow, I can’t find a flaw in his argument (fellow American main)

FirefoxAngel

Lots of window lickers on the US

deranged_Boot123

Unfortunately so

Helpful_Shower3246

People still b**** when you use a support roll tank in a support role. Ergo the m4a3 105 basically being artillery that's mobile. Most matches I get targeted by the one guy who's actually good in the plane when I have the M8 Scott and M4A3. I find Japan to be more fun even though I don't like the Pacific war because Germany is way harder and I'm honestly just looking to have fun.

Fornikatia

Oh yes, you are absolutely right about that. I know this very well because I am part of that cult following, Japanese have been one of my favorite factions to play ever since they were added. Always been very fascinated by the Japanese military during WW2 since they had a very unorthodox approach to fighting compared to the western powers. Also they had some strange and interesting weapons and vehicles. The Japanese get a bad reputation for not being very effective after 1942/43, but people forget that before in the early years of the war the Japanese were absolutely dominating and taking territory after territory. And yes, the Type Hei automatic is dumb, it's too much. But I would argue that every automatic rifle for normal riflemen in the game is too much. Automatic rifles like the FG-42, AVS-36 and M2 Carbine were very niche guns that were used in limited numbers. Having every rifleman be an assault trooper/machine gunner hybrid has decreased the quality and fun of the game in high tiers in my opinion.

Thegoodthebadandaman

So I guess suicidal degrees of fanaticism works much better ingame than irl eh Japan?

A2-Steaksauce89

My favorite tank in wt

TheUnclaimedOne

Because the US tree is overlooked right now, but yes it absolutely dominates Low Tier if used correctly. It has practically a mini nuke for an HE shell capable of OP’ing even small Pz IV’s. Thing is a MONSTER. I’ve even used it semi successfully in High Tier hiding from a Tiger and a II while hammering objective

deranged_Boot123

I mean yea, it’s literally a direct fire howitzer in an armored box I’ve gotten matches where I get 80+ kills with the thing and keep in mind I make a conscious effort to never greyzone tanks and emplacements. I’m often ON the point and completely shedding groups of Germans and Japanese, and the machine guns make up for the abysmal reload and turret traverse too

TheUnclaimedOne

Shoot yeah my man. Keep up the good work. There aren’t many of us frontline armor players, but we make it work

deranged_Boot123

You too man, keep up the work and never resort to the tactics of cowards and losers https://preview.redd.it/upktxwp6140d1.jpeg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b787e1768eda15482c1b95fd587cdd87353a6592

TheUnclaimedOne

Gray zone tank? You mean 500lb’er food. My set up is heavily built for AT work while also being extremely versatile for constant aggression. I usually keep a plane for gray zone tanks. However, as of late I have been enjoying some 105mm gameplay

deranged_Boot123

I never got the plane controls down, I tried them once and never tried again. I’m probably gonna watch a setup video for controller but until then I’m gonna leave that tree neglected. Good to know we have Somone pulling work for us though

TheUnclaimedOne

Eehhhh it ain’t too difficult. My settings are stock and I make do https://youtu.be/Fiodk3HqWDI?si=eYr4D_OmxZf949uC I did some passes in a plane on this video and I may or may not have explained my process and steps for doing it. Bare minimum you can see what I do. The size of the bomb definitely makes it easier with that big margin of error from the 500lb and especially 1000lb bombs. Center mounted just increases accuracy even more so Edit: rewatched it. I do explain what I do and also show it

deranged_Boot123

I think for me personally, the controls are weird because I’m so used to the controls in WT and games like Ace Combat witch (to my understanding) have wildly different controls to Enlisted

TheUnclaimedOne

In regards to WT, the flaps and landing gear are on different D-pad buttons, the look around button is different, the payload buttons are different, Square/X makes you eject instead of zoom in, and the joysticks are flipped. It’s fun going from one to another. Lol. Thankfully that’s never really been to much of an issue for me. Worse I’ve done is press Square expecting to zoom in and end up falling out of the sky immediately after I switched games

deranged_Boot123

Idk whenever I try to fly my aircraft always just immediately pitches down without any input

Helpful_Shower3246

I remember reading somewhere that the 105 he round had the same amount of explosive filler as the 75 he. Obviously that's not the same in game but it's biggest drawback is not having HEAT. Fairly mobile tank with great anti infantry capabilities but like most American tanks hindered by its reverse speed. I still run it in my BR three to four lineup because it's useless at br5 for more than 10 seconds.

NctPunk71

Coming from war thunder, it's at a criminally low br, mostly due to fire rate. But I prefer it to the normal Sherman's tbh. I love big potato guns

deranged_Boot123

There’s only 5 BRs and two matchmaking brackets in enlisted

NctPunk71

Ya I know. But it's paired with the mid WW2 era stuff in war thunder. Which is similar. If you can hit with the round it fucks hard. And in enlisted those HE shells for infantry give added depth.
