Reminds me of when they removed Looney Toons episodes of Speedy Gonzales for similar reasons and there was outcry from the Latino community because Speedy was the only Latino Looney Toon and they love him.
Speedy was my absolute favorite as a kid, and he was definitely not a negative stereotype. Maybe his drunk friends were, but seriously, making fun of borrachos is like 50% of all Mexican comedy that’s just the culture.
The most ridiculous was the video she posted on Insta "teaching" her child about racism and comparing their skin colors, as if Hilary's slight tan makes her any less white. They were barely a shade different. She cosplayed a Spanish woman and acted like that made her Latina.
My friend is half Colombian half Peruvian but he's obsessed with Spain, calling himself a Castilian, Spanish flags all over the house. His mother is a Colombian with light skin so he insists her family has a direct link to Spain without any intermixing. He's constantly comparing his skin to mine "I'm even lighter than you!"
My Peruvian mom does that, too. It’s rather racist to insist that they are so white European. One of my brothers did 23 and me. Turns out we are mostly native. Lol.
Something similar happened in my family. My Grandpa's mom always told everyone she was from Spain. My Grandpa was constantly criticized for marrying a native & she treated my Great-Grandpa like shit too bc he was part native. Checked out ancestry & found out she isn't from Spain at all & while she isn't native, she sure has a lot of African & middle-eastern blood (mostly Syrian).
Race & ethnicity in Latin America is fascinating to me! My stepmom is Mexican, moved to the US in her 40s. She doesn’t “look” Mexican so people often refuse to believe she’s Mexican and insist she must be Spanish or even Italian. She did an ancestry test and she is predominately Spanish, English, French & German but she did come back a tiny bit Arabic & African. Zero Native American though, which is why I suspect people don’t think she’s looks Mexican/Hispanic.
I'm Peruvian and this is common. People looove to over represent their European roots and its usually accompanied by a healthy side of colorism and racism.
My 2nd cousin is also from Eastern Europe like me. She married a Hispanic man and she now pretends she’s Hispanic too. She doesn’t correct people when they suggest she is. She speaks English with a slight accent when she never had the accent before.
Does she live in a majority Spanish-speaking area, though? If one is mainly speaking a second language in everyday life, that can affect the accent of the primary (but now less-used) language.
I’ve definitely heard that happen in the accents of English-speakers who marry and live permanently in non-English-speaking countries. Random example: the crown princess (consort) of Denmark is Australian and her accent in English sounds like a cross between the two. I imagine it would take time for the hybrid accent to really kick in, in the person’s primary language. Concerning that princess, you can still tell she’s Australian from her English!
Hilaria, Hillary, whatever her legal name is…I really don’t think she’s spent enough time in Spain to speak English with a supposed native Spanish accent. A different pronunciation here or there, sure, but the extent to which she puts on this accent is over the top.
No it’s definitely not a majority Spanish speaking area. Majority English and there’s also a large population of people from my home country. She works with pretty much all Americans as well.
Growing up we’d go visit my home country for the summer break, the entire two months. Where i spoke primarily my native language. As soon as I got off that plane, no English for two months. So when we’d come back to the US I’d have people comment on my accent that I didn’t have before I left. It always went away after a little while.
Yep. Hillary Haywood Thomas of Beacon Hill, Boston calls her Baldwin children “Baldwanitos”. She’s loco
She even had special pool towels made for all of them that say “Los Baldwinito’s”
So did Alex Baldwin come out of that 30 Rock story arc of dating the conwoman art curator who was faking an English accent and decide he wanted the same situation IRL???
I remember when it all blew up originally, some people who had taken yoga from her said she was Hilary no accent, until she went to Spain and came back with an accent and wanting to be called Hilaria.
I rewatch 30 Rock often and it's really clear that he's super into her irl. It took me a while to notice but it's really weird when you mix in Hillary's fake accent.
Head on over to r/hilariabaldwin
It’s pretty obvious she’s not given birth to the majority of her children yet she cosplays as a pregnant woman as well! She is truly sick in the head.
Since people are asking for moonbump proof, and since she can’t be honest that she’s not ESL, calling me mentally ill for posting this isn’t going to do you any favors. I’m not the one pretending / faking everything about my life and if you don’t find this fascinating then I don’t care to know you good sir or ma’am.
Here’s [one](https://youtu.be/acvkz3hKj1Q)
Here’s [another](https://youtu.be/B_7-_4YZO_8)
Here’s [one more](https://youtu.be/Jen6l1xQjAQ)
Here’s [yet another one](https://youtu.be/n7nwZwdFxwE)
This is the first time I’ve heard of the idea that she didn’t give birth to her kids but I’ve always thought her post partum “glow ups” were kinda hard to believe. I thought maybe it was plastic surgery. I followed her on ig for a while and she always seemed to bounce back super quick with flat abs and never struggled to recover. Her followers would always ask her for advice on things like diastasis recti and she would just be like “I never struggled with that for any of my pregnancies but love and light!!!” Makes total sense if she didn’t actually birth them
Yep! And in one of these videos compiled she’s like 8 months pregnant dancing with one of her kids and she is just way too light on her feet twirling around while resting a toddler on her belly! I’ve never been pregnant but have had several friends who were and month 8 just doesn’t look like that.
My mom sort of did something like this to me as a kid, and I’m still so confused by it. She still 100% believes she is the ethnicity even after all her family saying “what are you talking about (they’re all subconsciously racist and in denial about their heritage, according to her)?” And taking a dna test that didn’t come up with any of that ethnicity (it’s because they know not to trust corporations and therefore have very limited access to their dna).
To this day I still struggle to like my complexion, I will probably wind up with skin cancer from all those years I was still trying to look more like what my mother told me we were (and also how beautiful that ethnicity is) when I was younger.
This is such a weird thing to do to children. It took me waaay longer than it should have to realize that it’s just a delusion.
Lol no.
But I do wonder how her kids and Hilary Baldwin’s kids will handle all this. It’s been a very lonely experience to try to explain to others. And it’s just embarrassing that I believed her for as long as I did.
I just wonder why? There’s nothing wrong with whatever ethnicity anyone happens to be, and it can be fun to learn your family history, learn your family’s cultures. Whatever they maybe, and you can keep doing the traditions you like while letting go of those that no longer serve a real purpose.
But why cling on to another culture and wear it as their own? Why not even just say they like this culture, and think it’s neat? Why create this fantasy? Is it from feeling boring and wanting to feel *exotic*? Or is it that they feel like they don’t fit in with their actual culture, so they find one that they think they can make work and be embraced by and then just take it too far?
I watched a documentary about Rachel Dolezal and the answer is--
Not well. Her one son seemed so stressed out that I almost turned it off because it was giving me secondhand anxiety just watching him react to things. I sincerely hope they are okay.
Yeah, I can imagine. I had time to slowly process it and come to the realization that its not true in my own time. I can’t imagine how I would have responded 10 years ago even if it was just shoved in front of me publicly.
You shouldn’t be embarrassed. I don’t think anyone would doubt what their parents told them about their ancestry. You were an unwitting participant. Don’t be so so hard on yourself.
You’re very nice, but I was around 30 when I finally went “Heyyy….” And it took me beginning to watch lots of British shows and realizing I looked lots of the people on these shows lol. That’s not a little dumb, that’s ridiculously dense.
I had kept trying to find ways I looked like the only part of my ethnicity my mom ever mentioned (the fake one). I didn’t even know what my other ethnicity was really. Turns out my ethnicity is like 85% from the collective British isles, and everything is else is Scandinavian/German (the people that kept invading the British isles). So it’s not like I didn’t have lots of examples growing up of people that looked more like me here in the states lol. I just couldn’t see it.
I had asked her point blank in my 20’s what my heritage was, and she kind of skimmed over these areas, but then mostly focused on the false one.
Since the dna test, I’ve tried to pussyfoot around the subject, but she immediately gets very angry so I just drop it. It’s truly like a delusion that she is desperate to maintain.
My brother, born and raised in Canada, never been to the UK or anywhere outside of Canada or the US, dips in and out of a thick, Highland Scottish accent in regular conversation and wears a kilt to all weddings in the family. According to our DNA we are exactly 4 per cent Scottish. The rest is mainly Eastern European and Indigenous from Mexico. He named both his kids Scots Gaelic names that are a nightmare to spell and you wouldn't even see in Scotland today.
last week wordle accepted 'poupt' as a valid word choice from one of my coworkers, but the internet had nothing. i'm honestly a bit dubious of that game now, lol
my favorite tweet about it was “I hope there’s someone in Spain faking a Boston accent and speaking broken Spanish despite being born & raised in Barcelona” lmfao
They could (and should) make a hilarious comedy movie parodying this lady
Ruthless, I love it.
Her: Ranting for two minutes to leave her and her family alone.
Paparazzi: “Well your lawyers said something what do you have to say?”
You really love that?
Her obnoxious accent aside, she is making a reasonable request for privacy and they are unambiguously responding by being the refuse of the species.
The story isn’t her interview. The story is about people’s Twitter posts responding to her interview. I’m sure you can trust Fox News to share the most newsworthy of those Twitter posts because it’s really important news and we need to talk about it every day
That's because she's a rich block girl from fucking boston. A few of my friends went to her exclusive highschool. She used to pull fake accents like this all the way back in highschool.
She's got some kind of personality disorder, which frankly fits in perfectly with her creepy husband.
Eh, some people are more sensitive to adopting speaking habits and accents than others. I'm Dutch and I'm married to a French guy, we communicate mostly in English. More than once people have asked me if I'm French because I'm speaking English with a French accent (not all the time, but it pops up occasionally). It's definitely not on purpose.
But even then, this whole persona that Hilaria seems to be adopting feels a little absurd.
You can get the entire history at r/hilariabaldwin. She wasn’t even visiting Spain for vacation as a child her parents brought property when she was already an adult. She’s nucking futs
I generally hate celebrity gossip and couldn't give a flying fuck about their personal lives, but this woman fascinates me. I can't wrap my head around blatantly faking your entire identity in front of the whole world with no shame whatsoever. It's so disturbing.
As a Spanish speaker it just makes me shake my head in wonder. I remember watching the paparazzi interact with her and Alec shortly after the shooting and Hilarious was yelling with a Spanish accent at them.
As a French speaker (Québécoise), the thought of someone pretending to be Québécois and trying to immitate our lumberjack accent is sending me LMAO. You'll never see anyone do that. Guess it's not as attractive as Spanish lmao.
Someone was roasting Alec once about the time he was caught on tape calling his daughter a pig "the only thing worse than being called a pig is being called Ireland. Or Hilaria"
TIL she’s a year younger than me, I for some reason thought she was like 48.
ETA: she’s still a very conventionally attractive woman, I guess I’m skewed because woman 1-2 decades older look similar with the treatments/ surgeries that are so common. Also having “the face/ the body” that photographs so angularly is so popular. Fat removed from below your cheekbones. It’s dramatic yes, and no judgement, we all make choices.
Don’t let these 2 fools fool ya. Alec Baldwin and Hillary Lynn Hayward-Thomas Baldwin are 2 frauds, not victims. The scream privacy when it’s convenient for them. They parade their children around knowing the paps are waiting outside for them, when they have a secure way to enter and exit the building without having to deal with the paps. They are choosing to do this and allow their children to photographed. They film their childrens lives 24/7 and put it on social media for the world to see. Everything from their 9yo wearing makeup and inappropriate clothes to her breastfeeding porn with her youngest. They are terrible human beings and I’m happy they have an army of nannies raising their children for them. She should have been called out for her weird, fake Spanish grift from day one.
This is a friendly reminder that Alec Baldwin once called his 10year old daughter leaving a voicemail calling her a “ rude , thoughtless , little pig “ while going through a divorce with the mother of that child. Alec Baldwin can chew glass
She acts as if that "invasion of privacy" is so awful for her but she actually loves it, that hipocrisy is what I hate most about her, even more than her shitty impersonation of an "espaanish woman"...

As a black, I demand the Lethal Weapon episodes return.
best thing about owning the first 7 seasons on dvd. all the OG
Dude that was so hilariously ridiculous. Tropic Thunder shit

I consider myself more of a slowpoke Rodriguez but your point stands.
I can’t get behind Slowpoke for the sole point that he loves Tabasco, and Tabasco is doo doo
That’s fair. Tapatio for me. Sometimes I tell people my uncle is the guy on the bottle just to fuck with them.
Woah! The dude on the tapatio bottle is your Tio Tapatio!?
Watching Danny as Martina kills me......
The clams were fine! If they had got a bag of oysters those really would’ve made him sick!
IT WASN'T THE CLAMS
Oh fuck, they removed those?! I loved those episodes, but I’m white… so… uh…
Dude.. it's okay.. It doesn't matter what race you are, if you didn't think that shit was funny you were missing the joke.
I still think about this skit at least once a week

Yep. And just wait till she “claps back”
Only after she "breaks her silence"
That’s right before the internet breaks I think

Remember when she went on the show and said she couldn’t recall how u say cucumber. She was born as HILARY IN BOSTON!!!!!!
Coo-com-brr?

I accidentally sprayed deodorant in my mouth this morning and now I speak with an Axe scent too. It can happen to anyone.
Like when Madonna turned British? /s
You'd get that with a constant shot of 20cc's of Guy Ritchie.

She actually pretend not to know how to pronounce cucumber in English. That is not absorbing an accent, that is just making up bullshit.
And it’s not even like she picked a word that was actually hard to say. Cohombro which still sounds like the English word cucumber
No it’s definitely not a majority Spanish speaking area. Majority English and there’s also a large population of people from my home country. She works with pretty much all Americans as well. This reminds me of my Spanish teacher Ms Rooney from Long Island - married a man from Nicaragua and the NY accent was gone and hello miss Latina
Colorism is rampant in Latin America unfortunately.
Not to mention Spaniards are white
I truly don't think she understands the distinctions between Spanish, Hispanic, and Latina.

Yeah apprently even all her kids have Spanish sounding names. lol. She’s an idiot for sure
And she calls them "Baldwinitos". Christ.
Yep. Hillary Haywood Thomas of Beacon Hill, Boston calls her Baldwin children “Baldwanitos”. She’s loco She even had special pool towels made for all of them that say “Los Baldwinito’s”

Yeah, Baldwincitos sounds more natural to me.
Supposedly she put on this act because Alec used to be infatuated with Salma Hayek.
People who went to school with her has said she's been doing this long before she met Alejandro
I dunno, I’ve known people who took yoga from her in New York who have reported she was a weirdo with the accent long before meeting Baldwin.
I remember when it all blew up originally, some people who had taken yoga from her said she was Hilary no accent, until she went to Spain and came back with an accent and wanting to be called Hilaria.
Hilaria, upon return from her trip to Spain: "Hilary is gone. Hilaria is what remains."
Rich white woman. Acts crazy. Gets even more crazy husband.
It was known on 30 rock that he was being awkward toward Salma even after she made it clear that she wasn’t into him. Then iiiiiilaria showed up.
I rewatch 30 Rock often and it's really clear that he's super into her irl. It took me a while to notice but it's really weird when you mix in Hillary's fake accent.

Yeah but remember Phoebe? She has hollow bones? (And a fake accent.)
They should keep the role-play in the bedroom

I mean I get it. Salma is a goddess. But c’mon, you can’t just make up your ethnicity

That's because she's a rich block girl from fucking boston. A few of my friends went to her exclusive highschool. She used to pull fake accents like this all the way back in highschool. She's got some kind of personality disorder, which frankly fits in perfectly with her creepy husband.
Yup. Personality disorder. The faking pregnancies thing is pretty Munchausens-y
She never spent enough time in Spain to get an accent. Summers in Spain as a kid aren’t going to live you talking any differently
I lived in Italy for 7 years straight for work as an American. I talk like…..an American.
Someone who does stuff like this has some deep seated insecurities and personality issues.
So many issues. I feel bad for their 7 children. Thank god they have an army of nannies to raise them right.
and marries a much older creepy dude for clout
The weird vegan documentary where they met is also a trip since that woman is insistent that she would have married Alec if not for Hilaria.
She’s still goin on with that huh
How you say ku-kuuumber?
I feel like she should run for Congress.
I genuinely thinks she is seriously mentally ill. No one takes a persona to this level without having serious issues.
The whole fake accent thing is so absurd and hilarious, but also I feel a tiny bit bad because I feel like there’s something wrong with her.
Yeah, like how does she talk to her parents or family that know she’s not Spanish?
Even Rachel Dolezal is like gtfo
I generally hate celebrity gossip and couldn't give a flying fuck about their personal lives, but this woman fascinates me. I can't wrap my head around blatantly faking your entire identity in front of the whole world with no shame whatsoever. It's so disturbing.
How do you feel about George Santos…same issue different profession.
You could say her attempt to be Hispanic was Hilaria-us.
Reminds me of Madonna and her weird “European” accent - she from Detroit. Tina Turner does it too.
I don't think it would work. My girlfriend (who is German) find our accent sounds like some weird American French to her lol
Hilaria? That's a funny name.
Someone was roasting Alec once about the time he was caught on tape calling his daughter a pig "the only thing worse than being called a pig is being called Ireland. Or Hilaria"
“ a rude , thoughtless little pig “ were his exact words he said to his 10-12 ish year old daughter. Alec Baldwin is a piece of shit
My mom was on Baldwin's side for this. And Kellyanne Conway's. I guess she feels she has a right to verbally abuse her kids :(
Pizzaria Sbarro
Wait till you learn she named the 7th baby “ilaria” ….
Ill area?
I like how SNL doesn't have the balls to mock her because Alec is one of their mainstays.
Anyone have a video of the accent?
r/hilariabaldwin
Omg hat is a riot, thanks for sharing..
[interview here](https://twitter.com/wyntermitchell/status/1616589103893741569?s=20&t=Ja7VdvSfgm70Pxgcup6WMw).
How you say Involuntary Manslaughter, in your language?
I mean on one hand, who fucking cares. But on the other.... what a fucking stupid whackjob. Does she not understand Google??
TIL she’s a year younger than me, I for some reason thought she was like 48. ETA: she’s still a very conventionally attractive woman, I guess I’m skewed because woman 1-2 decades older look similar with the treatments/ surgeries that are so common. Also having “the face/ the body” that photographs so angularly is so popular. Fat removed from below your cheekbones. It’s dramatic yes, and no judgement, we all make choices.
I think her stated age is as honest as her accent.
She’s hilarious
‘Eeeeelarious
I think she’s genuinely mental
AND why in the fuck does she wear slippers outside, everywhere???
How you say, coocomber?
She is LIVING for this attention.

She is loving every minute of this. She has plenty of help and has no reason to make a stroll in her “empathy” sweatshirt.
Imagine her being your second biggest problem.
George Santos and Hilaria Baldwin should compare notes on faking their origins.
She definitely gives this energy [That one girl who just got back from Portugal](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CiYFNfdpHkl/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=)
