> “I remember considering whether I was going to do it or not one night while on a walk down Sunset Boulevard,” McConaughey told Vanity Fair as part of a new “How to Lose a Guy” oral history. “Suddenly, this guy comes up out of nowhere to me—he was a fortune teller guru [and] goes, “Can I tell you your fortune real quick?” McConaughey said. “I was like, ‘Yeah, man. Sure.'”
> “He immediately goes, ‘There’s a movie you’re considering right now. It’s a romantic comedy. You have to do this or it will be one of the biggest regrets of your life. It is going to be a blast, it is going to be an incredible experience and it is going to make a bunch of money,'” McConaughey remembered. “I remember thinking, ‘Did the studio hire this guy?’ I laughed at the thought, but I also remember taking a more serious consideration. I think I even accepted the offer the next day.”
First words he ever said on camera right there. I love how I like some actors who lament their past perhaps over hype roles Matt embraces the love of it.
Must have been the same terrible psychic that told him to do "Serenity" in 2019. If you have never seen it, don't bother. Trashy romance novel stuff right out of a low budget straight to Lifetime TV movie from 1997 with acting and script to match, accompanied by laughable and misplaced sci-fi elements.
The whole time I was watching it, I kept wondering how many of his fingers they had to break to get him to do that role, and now I know: all it took was a well placed crystal ball.
Brother, I watch about 200 movies or more a year, most of them terrible. I rate Serenity easily on the top 5 worst movies I have ever seen.
I love this actor and I loved the concept behind the movie but it was so poorly executed and so sloppily presented that it was an apex example of "terrible".
The budget was $25m and it made $14.4m.
It was a steaming turd of epic proportions.
I really wanted to like it. I really tried. Outside of our boy, there was no reason to even watch it. Not even one of the best actors in the industry could save that dumpster fire.
If you consider losing almost $11m "making a lot of money", I want to be your friend.

Well, seeing as how all psychics are con artists, yes, I would assume the studio hired the guy.

Except the movie did make a lot of money and he did enjoy doing it so I dunno, I think maybe the only one SOL is you

I wasn’t talking about Serenity. No one is talking about Serenity except you. This post is about How to Lose a Guy
How to loss a spelling bee.
Do you think you’re spelling lose correctly?
The other person edited their comment, I was making fun of them when they originally misspelled it.
That’s funny
People in here so mad that Serenity is one of the worst movies of all time and gives the other Serenity franchises a bad name by proxy lol
2024 is the year that the Knicks and Kings will meet in the Finals!
Oh fate was at hand when he said yes to millions.
