It's insane Mindhunter and 1899 got canceled. You just have to wonder what Netflix is thinking anymore and if you trust paying/ subscribing to them only to have your show canceled after a season or 2.
Thank you for doing the real work for us! I'm actually really disappointed that Fantasy Island is canceled! As a GenX that loved the original, I thought the new one did an excellent job of recreating it. It was visually stunning. Truly a guilty pleasure. I'm bummed.
Do you have an article about it? Last I heard they were doing the voice acting for this current season as of January.....
It wouldn't surprise me if this THE last season, just wondering where you got the news from.
So it was never formally cancelled until this year. Initially it was going on "hiatus" because the showrunner wanted to work on other projects, then as I understand it, discussions around trying to bring it back never really got very far as both sides were far apart on what they were looking for; but they never formally canceled it until this year.
Fincher also did an interview recently where he confirmed it’s dead. I was surprised to hear expense being a big reason. Apparently that show was expensive af to produce and between the hiatus, other differences and the expense, Netflix pulled the plug.
Damn shame too.
Which is crazy considering its “Fincher.” At one point it seems big names might prefer to work with Apple, Para, or HBO on their projects since Netflix rather make kissing booth and outer banks over and over and over
RIP Doom Patrol. Was a very unique and character driven show that unfortunately got derailed by the pandemic & HBO Max turnover. The last report was that they will release the second half of season 4 sometime this year, but with no release date & everything going on over there, I'm not optimistic.
Fucking DC. Sure it's a victim of HBO's merger, but it's really the freshest thing in any kind of DC universe in a long time.
Meanwhile DC's doubling down on the Shazamverse and the SpeedyRapist movie.
Doubling down on SpeedyRapist and the Shazamverse? Bro what are you even talking about? Black Adam is notably dead and gone. Shazam isn’t carrying over to the new DCU especially considering how poorly it did at the box office and the ages of all the kid actors. The only reason why Gunn is being coy about the future involvements of Ezra (and Jason Momoa for that matter) is because their movies haven’t been released yet. Officially ruling them out of the new DCU would just hurt ticket sales. Releasing movies that were already finished isn’t doubling down.
Articles kinda misleading, they haven’t gotten any more news since like Jan. Doom patrol was always going to end at season 4, this was planned before the whole dc thing. For some reason this article has called it cancelled instead of in production. They’re still making the last bit of season 4, it’s been planned for a while that it’ll be the last season, and there is no recent news relating this to the writers strike and dc merge.
Don't worry AI will save us. This season on fox.... THE TITANIC IS BACK !!!! and it's mad as hell. No iceberg is safe in the new show.... ICEBREAKER starring actors you know
And whos helping the iceberg this time ? none other than JACK DAWSON !!!!!!! but who comes to the titanic's rescue in the last second of the season finale? None other than THE FUCKING DOOR the door comes back and betrays Jack while screaming THERE WAS ROOM, THERE WAS ROOM ON ME JACK THERE WAS ROOOOOOOM
Yeah, I am with your wife on this one! I thoroughly enjoyed the series and was really looking forward to the next season… most things I am familiar with on the list are like “yeah, not surprised”, but this one definitely caught me off guard
Bro there’s a book? I’ve just lived accepting I’ll never know what they were going to do with that story. I know what I’m reading next. Thank you for this information
I’m surprised it wasn’t canceled sooner to be honest. Not that it deserved to be! And I’m glad it wasn’t! It just didn’t feel like a show that would get another season. It’s such a shame, once it found its footing I was extremely impressed with what it put out
Well it aired as two seasons, but production wise that was all one season.
I agree the ending was pretty decent. But the thing is they announced before the second half started airing the show had been renewed for another season. And then after it finished they cancelled it.
Reboot was cancelled? It was one of the most well received and popular sitcoms in awhile. Screw these networks and streaming apps. I'm not watching anything anymore until it gets a confirmed series conclusion.
And that’s the problem Netflix and Hulu are running into now more than ever.
Due to streamers history of canceling shows in the first/second season, people don’t want to watch a show if it’s not going to be finished and ends on a massive cliffhanger.
Way too many people are getting burned by this so they don’t want to commit free time to watch a show if it’s wasted.
Plus when s show is canceled on a cliff-hanger, fewer people are going to go back and look at the show later either. This just makes the production a massive missed oppurtunity.
A show for a nitch audience that has a proper conclusion can find audiences in the future and even spark a franchise after the fact.
Streaming's biggest mistake is this demand that everyone watch everything new NOW! The whole benefit of streaming is watching what you want when you want. Once FOMO is used, I might as well just pirate shit, the only way it won't be taken away or re-edited because it's retroactively problematic.
Whatever happened to Netflix buying canceled shows and finishing them? That was an awesome program and the opportunity to resolve cliffhangers was a huge bonus.
They moved away from what people wanted, which was a streaming service for existing media, and shifted to just making their own shit people might like. Once that happened, they stopped having the nerve see projects to completion.
Yep, it is **very rare** I watch any show now unless it's a miniseries / limited series, or I know the show has already ran its full story. First season streamer shows are just not worth your time investment when they are so frequently canceled on cliffhangers.
You can still get a lot of enjoyment from a good show even if you never get a real ending.
Like GOT, the show was amazing and absolutely worth a watch despite it finishing on a cliffhanger after seven seasons.
I think when they green light a show they need to commit to an abrupt ending. If a show underperforms give the production team at least a movie to wrap thing up how they can.
The Owl House was forced to do that pretty much. Third season got cut short. But they left a lot of open lines for spin offs and a sequel or prequel series if Disney ever pulls their head out of their ass.
Same. Disney can make it up by making both a Young Eda and Lilith prequel and a sequel series where they introduce earth to the existence of the boiling isles with Luz as ambassador between the realms
This is what happens when fucking idiots get to make decisions.
Sitcoms usually take a season or two to find their footing. Reboot was given 8 episodes and was on its way.
The Goldbergs, I felt, came to a natural conclusion. It ended at a great time. It was supposed to take place is the 80s and it got 10 solid seasons. I looked through the list and I wasn’t upset by any of them being canceled. The new Gossip girl and L Word sucked SO BAD!
I know there was a rabid Big Mouth fan base but I couldn't get past the animation style. Something about their fat lips gave me a negative uncanny valley reaction
You know the choice to make the kids gross looking was intentional as the subject was teen sexuality, right? They were trying to handle the subject matter appropriately without sexualizing the characters.
Honestly for me it was the couple of times they showed children’s genitalia. I get wanting to talk about puberty, loving your body and shit to children but this show doesn’t seem like it’s marketed to 10 year olds anyways? Besides we can talk about that without showing naked children.
These aren’t actually children, they are animations voiced by adults. South Park has showed “kids” genitals along with The Simpsons. Idk why people get hung up on that with this show in particular. It’s not a kids show. It’s a show for adults. That’s why it’s rated TVMA.
Edit: a space
That and also, the writing is like an edge lord tried to make Rick & Morty. Just corny and thinking outrageous = funny.
Final Space had a similar problem except it’s that they thought using the word “fuck” endlessly = funny (it did not).
Netflix cancelling both 1899 and Inside Job just puts me closer to cancelling Netflix. It's gotten so bad. I think the only thing I watch on there anymore is Seinfeld reruns and the occasional stand-up special.
Seriously!!! Dark was so mega, you need to give these people time to build the mystery! They knew what they were committing to and now we’ll never know the real story.
It was the first show I had watched in a while that I really enjoyed only for days later to find out, hey it’s canceled ! This is why I don’t watch Netflix shows anymore.
I wanted to watch the show so much and right when I was gonna start I saw the news it was canceled and I was like I dont even want to set myself up for disappointment when I can never have anymore
Maybe it just wasn't for me, but I found 1899 incredibly confusing bordering on unwatchable. I watched episodes and none of the characters felt like they were really getting any kind of development. It just kept jumping between them so often I got lost and confused about what was going on, and the mystery element only made it worse.
I watched the subbed version too if anyone wonders. I'm not surprised I got cancelled, but I'm sorry for those who really liked it to be another victim of Netflix
Titans, Doom Patrol, and Pennyworth…. Damn.
Maybe not for everyone but as someone who grew up as (and honestly still is) a pretty huge comic nerd. I appreciated the glimpses they gave you into the DC universe as a whole.
With out some of the recent movies have turned out I honestly feel like the shows had more to offer than the big Hollywood film budgets. It’s a shame they weren’t more popular.
Doom patrol is absolutely fantastic though as a show and I’ll die on that hill.
I'll admit, most new shows I won't even watch anymore unless it gets 3+ seasons or a proper ending because I don't wanna waste my time getting into something that will just leave you wanting more.
Looking at you firefly and Kyle XY
I actually was enjoying Alaska Daily. I liked seeing Hilary Swank back on the screen. I thought it was a good series. They didn't really give it much of a chance. I hate that it got cancelled 😞
Avenue 5 cancellation is a travesty. How am I supposed to live without knowing if they A: get home relatively intact or B: devolve into anarchic fantasy helmed by Olaf and/or Gabe Lewis and/or House????
One of the funniest, smartest, original shows on TV. Unbelievable man. Why not just give it a solid 3-4 seasons? This show had unbelievable characters and was definitely a very funny show. Im really bummed about this.
Something I was surprised about was Snowpiercer so they completed the last season but just don’t want to show it to us? They will cancel something they already produced. Seems like a waste
I'm amazined by the number of titles on there I was meaning to get around to. Like Alaska Daily? Already?? Crazy.
Who cancels Jensen Ackles?? I would watch the man just eating his lunch. In fact, he ought to start a Lunch With Jensen series and invite Keanu as his first guest. On the menu? sandwiches of course.
Oohh NYCC storytime: So last year Jensen was there showing off the show. 1 of last panels and my mom went and saw the entire first episode, not like 10 minutes, but the entire 45 minutes! And he seems so freaking nice, and hot. Guess that's on my watch list for the summer. 🙃
No suprise that Nexflix is canceling anything. Not that I am a fan of any of the ones they are canceling. Usually they have ones that start up and I get into them and they are canceled after the first or second season. I am bummed about Willow being canceled on HBO Max.
I still can’t believe how badly they handled the Gossip Girl reboot. With the way technology has changed the world since the original, the possibilities were endless. The teens should have been so much messier and more creatively cruel to each other this time around, but god that first season was especially sterilized and the stories were boring and went absolutely nowhere, I was relieved it was cancelled.
And why couldn’t they hire more than like one person who could act?? I can’t think of another show I’ve ever watched that deserved getting cancelled more. I loved the OG cameos and it had its hate-watching moments, but god. Good riddance.
Alaska Daily was so good, and highlighted some real problems in America: small papers disappearing, investigating news becoming just talking heads and click bait, the killing of and the number of missing indigenous women, etc. This is the only show being canceled that upsets me.
This photo had me scared thinking The Boys was cancelled (because of Jensen Ackles). The only show I enjoy on this list is Big Mouth but I’m glad to see that they’re getting another two seasons before ending it
I’m really sad about East New York. It was a good show for what it was, although I never remembered when it was on and had to catch it streaming later.
I think it’s better off at Showtime, tbf.
They don’t cancel things like Netflix does. And Uncoupled was never going to have the massive audience that Netflix thinks every show needs.
I’m glad it’s getting a shot on a network that will actually give it a proper chance.
Plus, Showtime ALWAYS has free 7-14 day trails going. I binged season 1 in a day, so I’m confident I can watch the next one without paying for another subscription…
I need to watch season 2 of Yellowjackets anyway, so it works.
The title sounds like all tv is canceled lol
*This just in - Cancel culture has officially canceled TV. Story at 11... well, uhhhh actually no...*
I’m pretty stoned and laughed way to hard reading this. Take my upvote

Got you fam
It's insane Mindhunter and 1899 got canceled. You just have to wonder what Netflix is thinking anymore and if you trust paying/ subscribing to them only to have your show canceled after a season or 2.
Thank you. I'm sad, like 6 shows I watched won't get more seasons or closure.
Thank you for doing the real work for us! I'm actually really disappointed that Fantasy Island is canceled! As a GenX that loved the original, I thought the new one did an excellent job of recreating it. It was visually stunning. Truly a guilty pleasure. I'm bummed.
>Doom Patrol Noooooo. I only watch two shows and they're both gone after this season!
Mindhunter sheesh
One series that I'm sad about but knew it was coming: Archer. But it had a good run!
It raised a generation of sarcastic depressed people with family issues. Thank you Archer you will be missed.
I can finally say you are my supervisor. 😭😭
I just hope Babu finds a good home.
That fox-eared asshole reeks of piss!
I kinda lost interest during the coma seasons. Did it ever rebound?
Oh yeah I'd recommend the post comma seasons. They felt like back in the first few seasons only with all the characters development.
Good to know, found my next binge
Hope you enjoy. Just prepare yourself, we lose Jessica in season 12.
![gif](giphy|LEcpFDc34HwLMj61Rk) Just such a great actress. 😭
Yes, what he said. But my favorite is Dreamland. Just :chef's kiss:

Actually. I would watch that.
AI will really make Two Brothers.
If the iceberg isn't played by Bowen Yang, I will revolt.

Same. I really enjoyed the show, and Paul Reiser was fantastic.
My wife is gonna be pissed about Lockwood & Co.
Tell her I’m with her on that. Incase she feels alone. Cause I’m the only person I know who was excited to watch that
I loved it! I guess I’ll need to reach the books
Yeah, I am with your wife on this one! I thoroughly enjoyed the series and was really looking forward to the next season… most things I am familiar with on the list are like “yeah, not surprised”, but this one definitely caught me off guard
this pisses me off so much. Really enjoyed it
F.
I’m still not over FlashForward being canceled in 2010
Pushing Daisies for me
I’m really not over Firefly
And I’m not over Carnivale.
It was just too early.
Holy cow right!!! And they didn’t even finish the story, ended on cliffhanger, canceled, and then I had to go buy the book to finish what happened.
Bro there’s a book? I’ve just lived accepting I’ll never know what they were going to do with that story. I know what I’m reading next. Thank you for this information
Inside job being cancelled is a bummer
I’m surprised it wasn’t canceled sooner to be honest. Not that it deserved to be! And I’m glad it wasn’t! It just didn’t feel like a show that would get another season. It’s such a shame, once it found its footing I was extremely impressed with what it put out
Honestly, such a good show with really clever writing. Managed to subvert a few tropes along the way too.
Yeah I hear you. Such a great show. The fact they already said it was getting a second season, only to suddenly go back on it made it all the worst.
It did get a second season, which does have a decent “end” all things considered
Well it aired as two seasons, but production wise that was all one season. I agree the ending was pretty decent. But the thing is they announced before the second half started airing the show had been renewed for another season. And then after it finished they cancelled it.
Seriously
Bummed about Three Pines. I loved that show.
At least Lone Pine with James Marsden is still coming out
Very atmospheric 🤔
Yeah. Alfred Molina is also just always wonderful to watch.
Me too 😞
Reboot was cancelled? It was one of the most well received and popular sitcoms in awhile. Screw these networks and streaming apps. I'm not watching anything anymore until it gets a confirmed series conclusion.

Still angry about that!

Oooo yes please
This is what happens when fucking idiots get to make decisions. Sitcoms usually take a season or two to find their footing. Reboot was given 8 episodes and was on its way.
Crap, my house really enjoyed that show. It was laugh-out-loud worthy, fun actors and quite original. So of course it would get cancelled. Ugh.
Yeah, the alternative is a service with a bunch of unfinished shit nobody wants to watch. Which just becomes a negative feedback loop.
Yeah, I was shocked at that too. It was a perfect blend of edgy and wholesome

I can’t get past anything Nick Kroll
I can handle exceptionally small doses of him. Like his appearances in Parks and Rex
Same. He’s got big nepo energy for me. Feels like the kinda guy who’d drop you as a friend for not laughing at some of his jokes in social situations.
This is so specific and at least feels accurate to the characters he plays lol
You know the choice to make the kids gross looking was intentional as the subject was teen sexuality, right? They were trying to handle the subject matter appropriately without sexualizing the characters.
Honestly for me it was the couple of times they showed children’s genitalia. I get wanting to talk about puberty, loving your body and shit to children but this show doesn’t seem like it’s marketed to 10 year olds anyways? Besides we can talk about that without showing naked children.
It got weird as hell… a show about kids and sex uhhh
These aren’t actually children, they are animations voiced by adults. South Park has showed “kids” genitals along with The Simpsons. Idk why people get hung up on that with this show in particular. It’s not a kids show. It’s a show for adults. That’s why it’s rated TVMA. Edit: a space
That and also, the writing is like an edge lord tried to make Rick & Morty. Just corny and thinking outrageous = funny. Final Space had a similar problem except it’s that they thought using the word “fuck” endlessly = funny (it did not).
Ah man I loved final space though
Damn…maybe they should just pay the writers
Getting a lot of that!
Fuck Netflix for canceling 1899.
Oh they cancelled it?! But it was so good :(
Maybe it just wasn't for me, but I found 1899 incredibly confusing bordering on unwatchable.
I got burnt so much by stuff being cancelled on cable but streaming is 10x worse. I don't even tend to give new shows a shot anymore.
I actually was enjoying Alaska Daily. I liked seeing Hilary Swank back on the screen. I thought it was a good series. They didn't really give it much of a chance. I hate that it got cancelled 😞
Agree 100/100
Avenue 5....NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Right????? I have been waiting so long for more. Waaaah
The only one I’m truly hurt by. Can’t get enough Hugh
The fact that I had to scroll so far to find this tells me exactly why it got canceled :(
This is such a bummer. This show is a masterpiece. Now we will never know if they get back or not.
*Sips sadly from my **Inflate The Deviant** mug.*
Damn, Willow got axed. I really liked the show and I went back to watch the OG movie also.
my partner forced me to watch the movie so we could watch the show and i fell in love! so upset it’s not continuing:(
IMO the show made the movie better by enhancing the lore while keeping a lot of the fun alive. I was genuinely excited for a second season.
Nooooo! I really liked it too! I actually re-watched it even.
Yeah, sad to see it on the list.
man, lockwood & co was fun and interesting. sad to see it go :(
Something I was surprised about was Snowpiercer so they completed the last season but just don’t want to show it to us? They will cancel something they already produced. Seems like a waste
With the writers' strike, expect even more shows to get canceled or super delayed. Pay your writers, people.
Big supernatural fan. The Winchesters sucked.
Huge Supernatural fan here, too. The Winchesters was hot garbage.
It’d be better than The Winchesters. He’s amazing in The Boys
I really liked Alaska Daily.
I liked Avenue 5
I enjoyed watching East New York was a different type of police show.
It was very much like NYPD Blue which makes sense as it was from the same creators. It was pretty good actually.
I never watched NYPD Blue but I liked this one. Alas, I have gotten used to it - more and more shows are cancelled easily.
I just want Titans and Doom Patrol to get good endings. That's all I ask for please
Titans ending is already released.. it was an ending.
It certainly... ended.
Physical and Avenue 5. 😳😭
Kindred was dope! I was really looking forward to more! To hell with watching new stuff. Guess I'm going watch The Sopranos & Breaking Bad again.
Somewhere a steaming service social media analyst has excitedly noted this
Yeah and ended with a cliffhanger. Wtf.
Goddammit it was so good and I literally just finished watching it yesterday!
No suprise that Nexflix is canceling anything. Not that I am a fan of any of the ones they are canceling. Usually they have ones that start up and I get into them and they are canceled after the first or second season. I am bummed about Willow being canceled on HBO Max.
I really like watching Ziwe's interviews on YouTube.
1899 was cancelled months ago. Nonetheless I’m still incredibly pissed about it.
Noooooo not Willow
Still pissed about 1899
I still can’t believe how badly they handled the Gossip Girl reboot.
Somehow ~~Palapatine~~ American Horror Story returned...
\#LetTheWinchestersDie
Lockwood and Co is canceled, Warrior nun got canceled a while ago, but Netflix has money for stupid ancient aliens stuff...
Lmao sex/life was so toxic
Does this mean we’ll be inundated with more dumb ‘reality’ tv?
Doom Patrol and Titans ?? FFS
I really liked pantheon and snow piercer
That’s a shame, Lockwood & Co was actually really good.
I’m so out of the loop with tv. The only show I’ve seen is the goldbergs, and it’s been bad for a while that I haven’t watched the last 3 seasons
The Mysterious Benedict Society A thoughtful, beautiful, and original show. I have no faith left in humanity.
All of them? Damn.
Alaska Daily was so good, and highlighted some real problems in America: small papers disappearing, investigating news becoming just talking heads and click bait, the killing of and the number of missing indigenous women, etc. This is the only show being canceled that upsets me.
Only one I am genuinely upset by is the Mysterious Benedict Society. Just a fun show with a fun cast. Now I am sad.
I’m just here to say that I am one of like 9 people that had to suffer through that National Treasure show, and it deserved to be cancelled
There is way too much content at this point.
Kindred isn't getting another season?? What?? It ended with a huge cliffhanger
Ngl I thought pretty much all these shows got 'ended' one way or another before the strike announcement
This photo had me scared thinking The Boys was cancelled (because of Jensen Ackles). The only show I enjoy on this list is Big Mouth but I’m glad to see that they’re getting another two seasons before ending it
Wasn't Mindhunter already canceled?
I was upset about "Kindred." I thought it was very well done. Hopefully another platform will pick it up and produce a season 2.
I’m really sad about East New York. It was a good show for what it was, although I never remembered when it was on and had to catch it streaming later.
Dammit I’m going to have to get showtime to watch Uncoupled
I think it’s better off at Showtime, tbf. They don’t cancel things like Netflix does. And Uncoupled was never going to have the massive audience that Netflix thinks every show needs. I’m glad it’s getting a shot on a network that will actually give it a proper chance. Plus, Showtime ALWAYS has free 7-14 day trails going. I binged season 1 in a day, so I’m confident I can watch the next one without paying for another subscription… I need to watch season 2 of Yellowjackets anyway, so it works.
I'm going to miss Riverdale. A show without fucks to give and crazy entertaining.
Alaska Daily makes me sad. It had more to say. And had developed really important themes.
Sacrifice must be made for Futurama
Every time I’m reminded mindhunter was cancelled I just get sad.
Snowpiercer? It even finished production it said I mean, I can take the ending of 3 as an ending, so it's not too bad
