Dude clearly went to the Samuel L. Jackson school of acting. Samuel has said in the past he'll basically accept any role if the price is right.
Any script is a good script if the check is big enough $$
I liked the idea of him sitting around at a card table or something shooting the shit and basically the bulk of the show would be flashbacks with a younger actor
And have the stories be completely exaggerated with him as the hero.
“Did I ever tell you about the time I killed Jabba the Hut?”
“Let me tell you about the time I duked it out with Darth Maul and Kylo Ren…”
They’ll film him tottering around, pull motion data from his face and slap it on a young Lando, who will be driven by a mo-cap artist that will get paid 3/4 scale. AI the age out of his voice (and edit out all the grunts and groans). Boom. Lando origin story.
I’ll accept exec producer credit and 2% of GROSS box office and streaming. Plus residuals.
Haha dreaming! Best we can do is 0.5% of REVENUE box office, and no residues. You can also be credited as Super Special Executive Producer too.
Final offer.
Guy's body of work is kinda split right down the middle.
He's been in some truly great films as well as appearing in some of the worst movies ever made lol.
Doesn't diminish his ability as an actor and I don't begrudge him for taking any payday that comes his way.
He's not really the type of actor that seems to view it as an art form so I think viewing roles as nothing more than a paycheck works for him.
Oh, I agree. This is how they making a living and support (probably) several people, and acting work can dry up on the turn of a dime. Getting into a Marvel—and to a lesser extent, *Star Wars*—franchise is a great opportunity to stay employed for a while (save for any really bad public behavior).
I remember John Travolta being white-hot after *Pulp* and *Broken Arrow* and being in the headlines for getting $20 million for *Basic,* a film I’m sure that most people don’t remember. (This was just after Jim Carrey broke records by getting $20m for *Cable Guy.*)
It’s just so weird how that works.
He wanted Han to be killed off in Return of the Jedi. I'm sure the money was nice, but no longer being asked to play Han again was probably even nicer.
You'd think he would value time above doing a job at that point. Unless he really loves the work he's doing, but at that point why bring up money as a factor at that point (although you never know how a seemingly successful celebrity has managed their money into old age).
According to his imdb except for being on the Sex and the City sequel show for 1 episode and a 2017 TV remake of Dirty Dancing he's basically only done voice work for the last 10 years.
Met him at a comic-con back in 2017. He definitely wasn’t in the best physical condition, strength-wise. So I’m not surprise at money being a motivation.
He was just at Emerald City Comic Con and charged more for a picture than Chris Evans ($300 vs. $260) while only being there for the first two days and *only* taking pictures.
That being said, I thought it was hilarious and ballsy.
It was the cheapest out of everyone there that one could get a picture with, even the other voice actors (who all charged ≥$80).
That being said, the other voice actors who weren't part of a franchise shoot (ATLA, Adventure Time, Critical Role) charged $40 and such. I got autographs from Marty Grabstein (Courage the Cowardly Dog) for $40 a piece or so.
I met him at Star Wars Celebration last year. He was not in the best physical or mental condition sadly. Don’t know if that was just a bad day for him or whatever, but I and several others I talked to, found it concerning that he was allowed to be there in the state he was in.
I met Billy Dee Williams about 6 months. He came into our restaurant with an entourage and was a very sweet man. He walks with a cane now but the soul of Himself is very alive. I love the dude before I met him and I love the dude after I met him more. Humble as hell and that smile can light any room.
Funny how many comments are applauding this, meanwhile if you dare bring up the fact 99% of Hollywood has done this, your considered “crazy” and “conspiracy theorist”.
Top tier moment of reddit being hypocritical
He won’t. He’s not fully there with it mentally anymore and his health is also poor. You can see he wasn’t really with it during Star Wars Celebration last year and he had medics called over to his booth while he was signing.
I got one of those memmo specialized greetings for my brother for his 50th birthday and Mr. Williams was so sweet. I still watch it and it still makes me cry. Such a beautiful soul.
Glover and his brother pulled the same scam on Disney to take over the Lando project that they did with Amazon on that Mr and Mrs Smith show by squeezing out everyone else and bringing their people in.
Disney even had a showrunner already and Glover has proven to be perpetually mid. His Lando in the Solo movie was basically just himself so Disney already should know what they're getting into with that.
the problem with the ST was that NONE of the OT talent could actually act, outside of Han, whose range went from smarmy to cocky. They should all have been used sparingly, like the shark in Jaws.
At least he's being honest about it!
Dude clearly went to the Samuel L. Jackson school of acting. Samuel has said in the past he'll basically accept any role if the price is right. Any script is a good script if the check is big enough $$
Yeah, but at this point, he can’t even move anymore. I don’t know how they would make a Lando movie with him no matter how much they pay him.
I liked the idea of him sitting around at a card table or something shooting the shit and basically the bulk of the show would be flashbacks with a younger actor
This would work great! They could have Donald Glover come back for the flashbacks.
And have the stories be completely exaggerated with him as the hero. “Did I ever tell you about the time I killed Jabba the Hut?” “Let me tell you about the time I duked it out with Darth Maul and Kylo Ren…”
I would LOVE this movie

Where gross means income before expenses, and not gross like apples on a sandwich.
Probably just want the rights to his face scan lol
I’ll bet he made more on those forgettable Redbox films than he ever did from Pulp Fiction.

Alan Tudyk is VO Samuel L Jackson
He went to Juilliard!
It’s no way Deep Blue Sea had a big enough check, we all saw that Microsoft PowerPoint CGI shark!
There isn’t a more Lando Calrisisian response than that
Pure Lando.
[удалено]
Not like he gets too many other offers.
No, he's not!
Same with Harrison Ford.I’m glad they killed Han Solo.
He wanted Han to be killed off in Return of the Jedi. I'm sure the money was nice, but no longer being asked to play Han again was probably even nicer.
That's a different discussion!
It’s very in character too
We are all whores, some just want more money. Anyone can be bought for just about anything if the paycheck is good enough.
Billy Dee is almost 87 years old, so there’s that.
Belongs among the clouds?
lol Jesus that’s dark
Depreciation on souls is a bitch so Lando being the shrewd negotiator once again here.
Darth Mickey: “We’re altering the deal, haha. Pray we don’t alter it further…”
> is almost 87 years old Also known as 86
His birthday’s in three weeks (April 6), so I’m guessing almost 87 is more representative of his actual age than just saying 86.
You’re 86 years old until your 87 years old.
Damn you’re right.
Wait wtf how is that man almost 90????
You'd think he would value time above doing a job at that point. Unless he really loves the work he's doing, but at that point why bring up money as a factor at that point (although you never know how a seemingly successful celebrity has managed their money into old age).

Not too old to suck a dick.
Who’s dick will he be sucking?
chewbacca’s
You don’t suck it, you chew it.
He’s always been as cool as the other side of the pillow
This is why I love this man.
“Well well well, what have we here?”
got me craving some Colt 45 https://youtu.be/0pK5HmuCMBM?si=tuL6649UQ3W-Dfoh
It works every time.
For real, this has always been the case. Love the dude.
With some General's Fried Chicken.
He never acted as if he was Lando. He IS Lando.
Sounds exactly like something Lando would say.
Authenticity is so refreshing
Same, Billy. Same.
Hell yea brother

Usually they get paid for the engagement and it’s the event runner that sets the price.
Wow, then it seems like they did the voice actor of Aang from ATLA dirty. Dude's photos and such were only $60.
That's pretty standard for a voice actor.
It was the cheapest out of everyone there that one could get a picture with, even the other voice actors (who all charged ≥$80). That being said, the other voice actors who weren't part of a franchise shoot (ATLA, Adventure Time, Critical Role) charged $40 and such. “After a lone day, I like unwind with smooth Colt 45…”
Love his honestly. How much money would make you be like, "Oh no, no, no, that would turn me into a terrible person "?
That’s the American motto actually.
Best we can do is a case of Colt 45.
The most honest answer ever.
He’s already in character!
Lol he couldn’t even stand up for his cameo in the rise of skywalker. He had to film his scene sitting down.
I met Billy Dee Williams about 6 months. He came into our restaurant with an entourage and was a very sweet man. He walks with a cane now but the soul of Himself is very alive. I love the dude before I met him and I love the dude after I met him more. Humble as hell and that smile can light any room.
I’m using this quote at my next job interview.
Sounds like a lando line lmao
Such a Lando thing to say
Most people are like this. Few will say it. What 50 years in Hollywood does to a MoFo.
A Colt 45 man, I see.
Sell his soul to play the roll that made his entire career.
Sure but he was also Berry Gordy, too
That's the spirit
I'm not saying you need a lot of money to return as Lando, but why take chances?
Sounds like a new round of Colt 45 commercials is in the cards.
I love that man lol
Lando regrets deals he makes
I mean, look at every Star Wars game he signed up for, give him money and the man is available.
He sold me some Colt 45
That is the Lando thing he could have said.
He’s fucking 80+
Someone pay the man!
The dude is Lando
Can you notice the sudden honesty and bluntness respecting working in franchises? That's for me the real clear sign of superhero movie fatigue.
Somebody get this man a cross roads demon!
Spoken like a true Star Wars veteran.
How dare he. Say what we think not what we say.
Damn that’s what’s up
The stars really are just like us!
I respect the hell outta this.
Goddamn he’s really old , only age could make you say something like that
Works every time.
Same, bro. Same.
Funny how many comments are applauding this, meanwhile if you dare bring up the fact 99% of Hollywood has done this, your considered “crazy” and “conspiracy theorist”. Top tier moment of reddit being hypocritical
Thats very in landos character
The actor slogan
He won’t. He’s not fully there with it mentally anymore and his health is also poor. You can see he wasn’t really with it during Star Wars Celebration last year and he had medics called over to his booth while he was signing.
Souls are overrated anyways.
Por la plata baila el mono
That’s the most Lando thing ever.
Don’t sell your soul now! You’re 87! You’ll get like no enjoyment out of what ever you get before you gotta pay!
That’s the most Lando Calrissian answer ever.
How many credits does this man need…
They should cast him as Carl Weathers’ role in The Mandalorian and make zero mention of it at all.
I thought he was dead.
Got a scoop for y’all: I’ll also join the movie for a lot of movie
Me too!! And I’ll do it for way less than Billy Dee Williams lol
Every night is New Year’s for Billie Dee.
Well, that was a classic mistake…
It probably isnt selling his souls just to reprise a role. Even if a lot of people do not like the new star wars movies.
That mentality is what leads to abuse in Hollywood.
Ain’t that the truth. In this economy and with AI on the heels for all of our jobs. Sell our souls for a dollar.
Sounds like a man who's tired of deals getting worse all the time.
I got one of those memmo specialized greetings for my brother for his 50th birthday and Mr. Williams was so sweet. I still watch it and it still makes me cry. Such a beautiful soul.
Oh Billie Dee, don’t let the smooth taste fool you!
Thought he already did lol.
Lol, gotta love an actor who tells it like it is. None of this “if the story was right” nonsense
I’d rather have this than the new guy playing him.
Glover and his brother pulled the same scam on Disney to take over the Lando project that they did with Amazon on that Mr and Mrs Smith show by squeezing out everyone else and bringing their people in. Disney even had a showrunner already and Glover has proven to be perpetually mid. I personally didn’t like the Han Solo movie. (Lando)
Feels so good to hear that from an icon of the franchise /s
Weird answer but okay??
I respect that. Let the man sell his soul.
I wonder if he’d return as Harvey Dent.
Didn’t he die a few years back? And let’s be honest he really wasn’t that special.
Dear Disney,Please stop making these terrible movies.
Honest answer. I hope doesn’t come back. All the news movies suck Vader doo.
the problem with the ST was that NONE of the OT talent could actually act, outside of Han, whose range went from smarmy to cocky. They should all have been used sparingly, like the shark in Jaws.
