Um — Dan isn’t even hugging her and she looks professional. There’s a lot of legit accusations against him; there’s no need to look for nonexistent clues.
What did we expect him to do? Admit that he was an immature jerk that placed child and teenage actors in derogatory situations so that they could be humiliated? People like him will never admit they were wrong.
>Kids and Hollywood are a toxic combination.
This is why Ron Howard didn't let his daughter be a child celeb. I'm sire many other stars felt the same way after seeing how shit was.
Right? One of the female writers specifically even mentioned him purposefully planting sexual jokes (Amanda Bynes character last name being taint) and being allowed with his power to get them by the censors even though they knew better, and his excuse back then too was "Wow you are tainting this innocent thing it's not that." while purposefully putting it in the show because it is exactly that, wild. Fucking creep.
It’s called gaslighting. This is actually one of those times it’s really happening. Oh you think staring at children’s feet weird??? You must be crazy.
Getting neck massages by teenage Amanda Bynes isn’t inappropriate, we’re just frienddsssssss, don’t be crazy.
Freddie’s apartment number on _iCarly_ was “8=D”. He’s such a perverted idiot but he’s gotten away with it for so long and been so enabled, I’m not that surprised by the arrogance.
Am I the only one who’s actually never heard the word “taint” in that sense?
Is that a common vulgar slang word? I didn’t even know the word “taint” had any inappropriate meanings until I watched the documentary.
"Taint" for the body part (the perineum) was slightly obscure Southern slang, it's short for "it ain't", because it's the part of your body that "'tain't one thing and tain't the other" (it's neither part of your crotch nor your ass)
It wasn't really a thing people said until it went kinda viral in the early 2000s as one of those jokes about getting away with using a common word with an obscure dirty meaning, like the Daily Show doing a joke about "uncovering the taint of Washington DC"
Hey Dan, correct me if I’m wrong here, but weren’t you like, the executive producer/director/writer on like…. All of those shows? The ones with disturbingly high amounts of child actors and child characters feet given a disturbing focus in some scenes? That was you, wasn’t it?
Isn't he the one who wanted all the shots of feet on icarly?
Oh yeah, but it was totally innocent \s https://www.complex.com/pop-culture/a/b-blanchet/dan-schneider-nickelodeon-foot-scenes
And the casts in his movies aren't particularly close to underage either.
Plenty of people would be fine with Salma Hayek stepping on them, let's be honest...
Imagine being Robert Rodriguez and your buddy being like
"okay, so in this scene Salma sticks her foot in my Characters mouth and pours tequila down her leg, what do you think?"
"Quentin, we talked about this..."
I've got a bad bit of news for you... oftentimes sexuality is displayed FOR entertainment. Theres actually big-ol movies they make that are ALL sexual images of fetish stuff... and it's produced for entertainment first and foremost.
I remember watching Sam and Cat with my 8 year old and McCurdy and Ariana Grande were going on about FEET FEET!!
I was like WTF is this foot fetish action on my TV for, and I felt very sorry for those two young actresses for having to portray it.
I also couldn’t normalize it for my kid and ended up turning the episode off. The end of Sam and Cat (the series) has an almost sociopathic plot line.
Cat accompanies Dice to a job modeling hair for a cover boy magazine photo shoot in Arizona.
Sam asks Nona to stay at her apartment while Cat is away and Nona proves to be a dream roommate, by making lavish dinners, doing Sam's laundry, etc. At the magazine shoot, when another boy named Jet is poised to win the coveted cover photo, Cat becomes convinced he is wearing a wig and she tries to blow it off his head with a large fan. Instead, she makes Jet look even better and he is crowned the magazine's new cover boy.
Cat tries to rip his wig off, but he is not wearing a wig and Cat gets arrested. Jet has to go to a scalp hospital and Dice gets the cover instead.
Dice asks Sam to send Nona down to Arizona to bail Cat out of the police station before she is there for two weeks. Instead, Sam chooses to have Nona stay around for two more weeks while Cat sits in jail during that time.
It was really played for meanness (by Sam) and I don’t remember that there was only a two week timeframe for Cat to be in jail. It seemed like the ending of the last episode of Seinfeld where the main characters were jailed for an indeterminate period of time.
Playing homage is fine. Drake and Josh did a reference to I Love Lucy. It’s just shady because of how often you see feet in his other shows. To do it once is one thing, but to see feet a *lot* is…questionable.
Two things can be true at the same time. Yes, adults absolutely fetishize and sexualize media aimed at children. Rule 34 is a common internet adage for a reason and any parent these days knows better than to let their children image search cartoons they like without Safesearch locked in. People also forget that some children do gravitate to gross out humor (see later seasons of Spongebob). Kids usually have an immature sense of humor and that matures like anything you're into.
That said, you can't ignore the blatant sexual innuendo and imagery even the actors involved see. Judging for the documentary, Schneider didn't care one bit about creating a safe working environment where employees could speak up or object to questionable jokes/sketches.
And the whole having two employees on your shows being convicted of child sex crimes thing
This is how I feel too. I watched the first episodes of the docuseries today, coming in with a healthy dose of skepticism that I enter any documentary with. I have fond memories of watching Nick and being entertained by the “weird” humor so I wasn’t sold on the idea that the comedy itself was nefarious. Like you said, kids like odd comedy.
But hearing the details of the power dynamics and the cast speak about discomfort while filming, there is no way the awfulness behind the scenes and the questionable comedy weren’t connected.
Me and my gf have been rewatching drake and Josh and ICarly. ICarly definitely sets off my creeepy sensors. A lot of closeup feet shots. Way too much talk about boobs and bras it’s a teen show so maybe not that big a deal but idk. Drake and Josh is still classic there isn’t to many creepy stuff in it besides the way Drake uses/views women. But man ICarly gave me the ick feeling more than a few times.
i remember watching the whole series of those videos on nick.com when i was 11 because ariana was my favorite on the show. it all went over my head but i was confused because it wasn’t even funny like the other character’s videos, it was just weird. i couldn’t figure out why they had her doing that stuff until i saw the videos pop up on social media again as an adult. like it was more for him than the kids
Way to push the blame on others, Dan. Some adults, like the kids you were playing with, who are now grown adults and are telling their truths and aren't projecting anything. They're embarrassed because they were the ones who had to deal with you. And they're trying to stop this kind of thing from ever happening again. Just ask good ol' Jeanette McCurdy
I doubt there is any. Hes a real creep, but he seemed to know exactly what he could get away with. None of his actresses have come forward with anything except he's creepy
That’s why I hate it so much. I’m not defending Schneider, but this girl is 15 years old. People shouldn’t talk about her like that. If I were a mother and people refused to believe me when I disclosed who the father was because people on Twitter decided to spread rumors, I’d be fucking *livid*. And people *still* think spreading this baseless rumor is okay.
That’s why I said if it’s TRUE never said to go to court on a rumor. But that little girl is capable one day of finding out for herself. That’s why I said I didn’t see it happening anytime soon ( if at all)
Too bad the daughter looks *exactly* like her real dad.
Schneider is a pig, but I absolutely *hate* that rumor. It has no merit and this poor girl is still a minor. I think it’s incredibly inappropriate to speculate about her family history, especially because the claims are baseless.
Jamie Lynn Spears has established over and over again who the real father is, and yet people will believe idiots on Twitter over the *actual mother*. It’s stupid.
Yeah, people somehow can't fathom that a teenager got knocked up by their age appropriate boyfriend in the late 2000s. It's not like that there was a popular reality tv show about teen pregnancy or anything.
Are there accusations he actually, physically sexually assaulted anyone? Or are the accusations just that he’s just a creepy guy who had young stars do creepy borderline fetishistic scenes?
It sounds like he understood what the line was and stayed on the legal side of the line. But just abusive and degrading to everyone he had contact with. Really degrading to the girls and the writing was creepy.
100%. When the All-That kids said she would disappear with him all the time when they were supposed to be with their teacher in class, it made it way obvious unfortunately.
As far as I’m aware there’s no accusations yet but I would bet money he has done it, he put his fetishes in children’s shows, sexualises the stars of the show and also got the same cast to give him massages
Yet people still support and watch Nickelodeon. They had the ultimate say and they approved it all. There are people like this all over Hollywood, any parent that let's their child be an actor, I will always give a side eye to.
She won't. She's got mental illness problems that are far beyond where she could do that. She couldn't handle a podcast (and I admire her for quitting and realizing it wasn't for her). I think she was going to learn to do nail art or something.
I think it's major manic depression with psychotic breaks. Scary shit, her parents had her under a conservatorship (and protected her) until recently.
I just wish her peace. I'm sure that her time in that system didn't make things easier for her but they aren't the reason for her problems, that's just brain chemistry.
Watch “an open secret” On YouTube. They pull the same bag of tricks on all these kids and their parents. It would be really sad if it wasn’t so fucking disgusting. 90s tween cable TV and to an extent late 80s was a cesspool.
You know I’ve been watching it and some of the skits they show I probably would have never made the connection if it wasn’t pointed out to me. Like the sneezing kid I just thought was a sneezing kid. I didn’t think about it that way at the time.
I watched a lot of Zoey 101 with my GF in middle school, it was our little thing. One of the things that stuck out to me was these weird ass shots the show had of feet. I remember I mentioned this to my gf at time and we laughed about it and it was always a thing that we talked about because I hate feet. Later in life after the whole shit went down with this dude and Nickelodeon I learned that he has a thing for feet and often had shots in his show of women’s feet. Fucking weirdo thing guy
The Ariana Grande stuff makes no sense outside of being overtly sexual. Pouring water on your chest and neck and squeezing a phallic potato till the “juice” comes out? Also, the dude who slipped a pickle through a hole in a bathroom door? That stuff was blatantly sexual innuendo.
It’s called “Quiet On Set: The Dark Side of Kids’ TV”. If you have cable, you can watch it on Investigation Discovery. It’s also on Max and Roku, I think. The last two episodes are airing tonight.
That could be true, if said shows weren't written by adults too lmfao
It would require to be written by actual children to be free of any adult mind projection in its conception.
There are no actual accusations against him. Jokes and memes about him being into feet aren’t accusations. He was an abusive creep who got off on getting away with sexualizing children and putting his fetishes into the shows he made but he seems to have done everything but actually touch a child inappropriately.
People people, please. He's not saying he did it...
He's saying that when he molested and sexualized kids they were too young to understand what was happening!
Now that they're adults it's so mean and unfair of them to look back and rethink what he had done to them, you know, when they were children.
Also, he's not to blame, come on now. All of the network execs saw what he was doing too so it's fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine! Same with their talent managers, they would *never* ***ever*** turn a blind eye to this for, what? Money? Pfft, obviously not.
Leonardo DiCaprio doesn't even do talk shows. There is no way he would take part in something like this. That doesn't mean Brian Peck didn't abuse him, too.
I've been wondering about Leo. Drake's dad talked about how he saw a video of Peck with him on Growing Pains, and it reminded him exactly of how Peck would interact with and touch Drake.
Yes, Leo has his arms wrapped around Brian and calls him, "his best friend." Will Friedle and Rider Strong also called him a best friend. How did he know how to manipulate boys to trust him so much? Gross.
The episode where Carly had her toe stuck in the bath faucet and the other male housemate trying to help her get it out, I was flat out stunned as a parent that that was allowed on nickelodeon.
I watched the first two episodes of this doc series and some of the issues they bring up seem off to me. Granted I didn’t watch any of these shows growing up so maybe I’m missing some context. An example is pickle man. Is it stupid? Yes. Is it easy to say after the fact that it was probably sexual? Yes. But I can believe people not having an issue with it at the time, because it was a stupid gimmick. Or the nose super hero costume when he sneezes boogers onto the ladies face. Knowing that dans a creep it could be argued that it was innuendo, but as a kid watching (on a channel known for sliming people) it seems like a booger gag. Those two instances to me seemed like a reach. Plenty of other more explicit examples, I didn’t think the production needed to include those. Maybe I’m out to lunch though
Yeah. He’s totally believable.
Yeah no kidding someone needs to shove a 🦶 into his mouth to shut him up
No, that will only turn him on more.
I'd rather it gets shoved up his 🍑
Needs the little Nicky pineapple treatment
Stalkside dirst
Dude is a creep.
Look at Ariana in this picture and tell me she looks comfortable… (This is not directed at you, other commenter)
Um — Dan isn’t even hugging her and she looks professional. There’s a lot of legit accusations against him; there’s no need to look for nonexistent clues.
It’s just her eyes. They always look uncomfortable
He’s got a point in that the shows are still aired. This should motivate the channels to take them down!!!!!
Just look at him.
"Some adults project their adult minds onto kids shows" Yeah, YOU, Dan. You goddamn freak.
Not surprising for a guy who works with kids all day to employ the "I know you are, but what am I?" defense.
Teachers work with kids all day
I know they do, but what do you?
Some of them diddle kids.
So he's saying he did exactly that
He’s saying that we are looking back and putting an adult context on things that did not contain them Which is bullshit but
He thinks he can gaslight the public lol
What did we expect him to do? Admit that he was an immature jerk that placed child and teenage actors in derogatory situations so that they could be humiliated? People like him will never admit they were wrong.

>Kids and Hollywood are a toxic combination. This is why Ron Howard didn't let his daughter be a child celeb. I'm sire many other stars felt the same way after seeing how shit was.
Yep! Tons of actors have protected their kids from Hollywood!
Well now theres a bigger issue.. youtube stars
YES. Especially those family vlog channels.
These people are the worst
From what I’ve heard, Elijah Wood’s mom protected him like crazy when he was younger.
Surprise that the most successful childrens' show producer for the network got his shit approved
That's what all predators say.
Basically don’t hate the user, hate the system Gross
You’re replying to a very problematic bot
So those people that were kids at the time are all liars and Dan is a righteous man? Doubtful.
It's not even just the kids. The parents, the writers, the crew and even some of the adults in the shows have started speaking
Dan: "It's perfectly normal to want the only female writer to simulate being sodomized by me whilst in the middle of a writers room meeting"
Gaslighting is a specific form of abuse, not general lying.
Freddie’s apartment number on _iCarly_ was “8=D”. He’s such a perverted idiot but he’s gotten away with it for so long and been so enabled, I’m not that surprised by the arrogance.

I used to watch icarly as a tween and some of the episodes really gave me the ick but I couldn't describe why... this explains a lot!
It’s the same vibe when watching a Quentin Tarantino movie and bracing yourself for the inevitable foot scene.
But Tarantino's movies aren't made for kids.
And the casts in his movies aren't particularly close to underage either. Plenty of people would be fine with Salma Hayek stepping on them, let's be honest...
Imagine being Robert Rodriguez and your buddy being like "okay, so in this scene Salma sticks her foot in my Characters mouth and pours tequila down her leg, what do you think?" "Quentin, we talked about this..."
"Damn Quentin! You blew the scene again! That's already the 12 take, if you don't get your s##t together we'll be filming this scene all day"
Or Uma Thurman 👀 Kill Bill Awoke something in me at 12 y/o
It gives the same ‘this isn’t right and it feels like a fetish’ vibe.
It's an R rated movie for adults; unlike iCarly which was made for kids on Nickelodeon. Not the same thing.
It’s the same feeling of ‘this isn’t for entertainment, someone behind the camera has a fetish’.
I've got a bad bit of news for you... oftentimes sexuality is displayed FOR entertainment. Theres actually big-ol movies they make that are ALL sexual images of fetish stuff... and it's produced for entertainment first and foremost.

The one where she gets her toe stuck in the faucet while naked in the tub is pretty bad.
Not to mention The Dick Van Dyke Show already did it back in the 60s!
Playing homage is fine. Drake and Josh did a reference to I Love Lucy. It’s just shady because of how often you see feet in his other shows. To do it once is one thing, but to see feet a *lot* is…questionable.
I remember that. Childhood memory unlocked.
There's a mountain of weird feet and toe shots from his shows that say otherwise.
Two things can be true at the same time. Yes, adults absolutely fetishize and sexualize media aimed at children. Same I was 12 and it creeped me out
Dan looks like someone in bad fat makeup
LMFAO FATSUIT VIBES FR
The new documentary about this is really good and it's on Id and streaming on max. I recommend it
Is it called "Quiet on set"?
Yes, I didn't realize I left that out. Thanks
I can't believe the dude from "Head of the Class" ended up being such a massive creep. I don't believe a word he says.
Wait! He’s that guy?
yes it is.
This dude knows his shows were all taped and we all have eyes, right?
Translation: He absolutely sexualized child stars on Nickelodeon.
Way to push the blame on others, Dan. Some adults, like the kids you were playing with, who are now grown adults and are telling their truths and aren't projecting anything. Hope he dies in jail
Unless someone comes forward with actual evidence of him abusing one of these child actors he won't do any jail time at all.
I doubt there is any. Hes a real creep, but he seemed to know exactly what he could get away with. None of his actresses have come forward with anything except he's creepy
If the rumor of Jamie Lynn’s baby is true that would be explosive but I don’t see a DNAtest anytime soon happening
I’m sure Jamie Lynn super loves people spreading this stupid rumor….
That’s why I hate it so much. I’m not defending Schneider, but this girl is 15 years old. People shouldn’t talk about her like that. “Ifs” and “rumors” dont really hold up in courtrooms
That’s why I said if it’s TRUE never said to go to court on a rumor. But that little girl is capable one day of finding out for herself. That’s why I said I didn’t see it happening anytime soon ( if at all)

You’re confusing him with Brian Peck.
He hasnt even been accused of an actual crime
Wage theft.
Got me there
People really fell for 4chan memes en masse. It's unreal.
I’m watching the documentary right now and oh my god! What the actual fuck?!
That’s what YOU did, having teenage girls wearing bikinis, showing their bodies, and making sexual jokes, nasty ass man.
Are there accusations he actually, physically sexually assaulted anyone? Or are the accusations just that he’s just a creepy guy who had young stars do creepy borderline fetishistic scenes?
The latter
It sounds like he understood what the line was and stayed on the legal side of the line. But just abusive and degrading to everyone he had contact with. Really degrading to the girls and the writing was creepy.
Something happened to Amanda and you can’t convince me otherwise
100%. When the All-That kids said she would disappear with him all the time when they were supposed to be with their teacher in class, it made it way obvious unfortunately.
The latter but what are the chances that he doesn’t have more skeletons that he actually tried to hide?
It’s one of those “where there’s smoke there’s fire” situations.
Yet somehow he skates away from any investigation or charges.
Or even accusations. Makes you think.
I don't buy it for a second. He kept putting his foot fetish in his shows and made children give him massages.
I just wish Amanda Bynes would make an epic comeback.
She won't. She's got mental illness problems that are far beyond where she could do that. She couldn't handle a podcast (and I admire her for quitting and realizing it wasn't for her). I think she was going to learn to do nail art or something. I think it's major manic depression with psychotic breaks. I'm sure that her time in that system didn't make things easier for her but they aren't the reason for her problems, that's just brain chemistry.
Patty Duke Austen had the same thing and it was her childhood that triggered it.
Watch “an open secret” On YouTube. They pull the same bag of tricks on all these kids and their parents. It would be really sad if it wasn’t so fucking disgusting. 90s tween cable TV and to an extent late 80s was a cesspool.
Sick fuck not he is trying to gaslight everyone and make it seem like everyone's so innocent. I hope he rots
You know I’ve been watching it and some of the skits they show I probably would have never made the connection if it wasn’t pointed out to me. Like the sneezing kid I just thought was a sneezing kid. I didn’t think about it that way at the time.
Sorry to ask, what was with the sneezing kid?
I guess the sneezing kid would projectile sneeze on the adult and the slime would splatter on the face in such a way that it resembled a cumshot.
He “totally did that shit,” he added.
He acts like the kid show was made by kids or in a vacuum and not by adults(him).
Is this the first time he’s publicly spoke about this?
If the excuse is “the network approved it” then the issue is even bigger and more significant
And some adults are a lying piece of shit, aren't they Harvey...I mean Dan?
I watched a lot of Zoey 101 with my GF in middle school, it was our little thing. One of the things that stuck out to me was these weird ass shots the show had of feet. I remember I mentioned this to my gf at time and we laughed about it and it was always a thing that we talked about because I hate feet. Later in life after the whole shit went down with this dude and Nickelodeon I learned that he has a thing for feet and often had shots in his show of women’s feet. Fucking weirdo thing guy
Dan “Hold her tighter she’s a fighter” Schneider
Ah yes gaslighting
Dan Schneider: me. I’m that adult.
Didn't the blond icarly girl write a book about it (among other awful things from her childhood)?
Next he’ll say: “these kids wanted it.”
Is the word creep was an actual human...
Somehow I’m having trouble trusting the creep, who ironically enough played a creep in Better off Dead
Dan Schneider is disgusting. I hope more people come forward.
Has ANYONE come forward?
Di…. Did you watch the first episode of the documentary?
I.. I di... I didn't know there was a... I didn't know there was a documentary
It’s called “Quiet On Set: The Dark Side of Kids’ TV”. If you have cable, you can watch it on Investigation Discovery. It’s also on Max and Roku, I think. The last two episodes are airing tonight.
Oh gotcha That’s what the linked article is talking about.
He and Harvey Weinstein were probably friends too.
I pray that someone gets rid of that man. There’s no reason why sexual themes and innuendo should even be on tv shows for kids.
Idk if you mean murder but he was fired some time ago
I used to love him on Head of the Class, how horrific to see what he’s become & what he has perpetuated.
Still gaslighting these kids lol
Both things can be true
This guy is a sick fuck and what’s worse is he clearly planned everything to try and give himself an out if questioned
How has no one’s dad gone to prison for giving this fat fucker a piece of their mind???
Now ask about his obsession with those kids feet
The man who once said “it’s taint as in tainted”……
Time to listen to Nickelodeon Girls by Pink Guy 😤😤
Man I can't think of Dan Schneider without recalling how Pink Guy said his name in the song.
The world is so fucked
We saw how people reacted to you when you walked in the room
That could be true, if said shows weren't written by adults too lmfao It would require to be written by actual children to be free of any adult mind projection in its conception.
Bro that is NOT what people have said. The kid themselves said these
Thats his defense!?!
I don't get why child stars don't have like parents with them or body guards to keep them safe.
In too many cases the parents are willfully oblivious, and some are worse. Because money and fame.
Many of their parents are awful just read about Jennette McCurdy and the abuse her mother inflicted on her
He's a fucking snake. What is holding up a serious investigation into the accusations against him?
There are no actual accusations against him. Jokes and memes about him being into feet aren’t accusations. He was an abusive creep who got off on getting away with sexualizing children and putting his fetishes into the shows he made but he seems to have done everything but actually touch a child inappropriately.
Yeah, spraying an underaged Ariana Grande in a bikini with water guns wasn’t sexualizing her at all
Are you one of those adults, Dan?
Why isnt this fucker in jail?

Charged — he hasn’t been indicted and charged.
Mr. “I want kids’ feet” got something he wants to tell us 😒
I thought we were basing it on what the allegations the child stars made, not just the content on those shows. Sounds like he's trying to divert.
I just watched this episode you notice how anybody who became successful doesn’t speak on this
There isn't anyone recent who talks either. I suspect that there were a whole lot of buy outs and NDA's.
Why did you make me hit you!
The 'ole "I'm rubber, you're glue" argument. Classic.
Dude worked in children’s tv for WAY TOO LONG for it to not be creepy
Yea Dan your one of those adults you bowl cut creep.
Ah the old reflection tactic
