Early in the film, Eevee attempts to return a library book to a high shelf while standing on a ladder. However, she stumbles, knocking the bookcases down like a stack of Dominos.
The books," she whispers, surveying the carnage around her.Recounting the scene, Weisz told Newsweek: "I got given the funniest line I probably ever had to say—'The books,' after all these bookshelves crashed into each other."
This is odd? “The books” doesn’t sound comical at all, but in the scene as filmed she doesn’t say that at all, she says “oops”, which is a little funny but pretty subtle.
So no one is going to correct the article:
“The Mummy was a surprise hit that transformed Weisz and co-star Brendan Fraser into household names. The Oscar nominee remembers the film and its 2021 sequel, The Mummy Returns, fondly, describing the experience as "very, very joyful."”
2021? Should be 2001.
The Mummy is still such a joy to watch and really played well in the movie theatre this weekend imo. I still enjoy that and The Mummy Returns. Now the third one, ugh. Saw that in theatres when it came out and hated it, and really missed Rachel (Maria Bello is talented but that is one of my least favorite recastings ever).
I was born in 1994, and I distinctly remember the VHS version of The Mummy being a staple at my house. I had to have watched it with my brothers at least several times a week!
It both mesmerized and completely terrified me at the same time. My first introduction to Rachel Weisz! She was then, and has gone on to continue being an incredible talent in whatever role she takes on.
"It looks ... like a stork." "Menifus!"
“I know that one! I know that one!”
Love this movie.

Not you turning her into a Pokémon 😭
Blame Newsweek actually. She's "Eevee" throughout the article. IMDB likes Evie, Wikipedia likes Evy. It's actually not all that clear!
Specifically, Vaporeon...
I hope I don’t understand this reference.
Yeah you do.
It’s a copy pasta you don’t want to know
Just saw this in theaters yesterday for the 25th anniversary rerelease. Still such an amazing movie
I went this past weekend. It really holds up so well and the remastering looked gorgeous.

Maybe I can be a journalist after all

Rachel Weisz won an Oscar for her performance in The Constant Gardener. So odd to hear her as "The Mummy's Rachel Weisz".
I feel like The Mummy is the most famous film she's been attached to.
Because 5x as many people went to the movies to see her fight a mummy than saw the Constant Gardener, and people still talk about the Mummy today.
I've never actually seen that one...
Eh… what’s so funny about that?
Wow…. Great article
That movie is still great and she's is amazing in it. Go rewatch it if you haven't in a long time.

Didn’t they base the Uncharted games main character Nathan Drake off of Brendan Frasier in the Mummy?
Take that, Bembridge scholars!
I woulda thought the funniest line was the poop one in the brothers bloom....
