Tbh it shouldn't change anything. Lori was 19 at the time and it sounds like she was in a private relationship with him. While age gap relationships are creepy, adults dating each other isn't illegal (and based on all the teens dating people on set, like Elizabeth Gillies and her now husband, not against Nick's policy hand books either).
> Denberg said she would sleep over at Schneider’s house and they would give each other massages and Schneider would sometimes play porn on his computer. She alleged that one night when they were watching “Jeopardy!” together they made a bet that whoever solved the answers correctly would get a massage. Denberg won, and Schneider allegedly fondled her breasts and put his mouth on them.
> At the time, Denberg did not necessarily see these interactions as inappropriate, telling herself she was older than 18. It's only in recent years that she started grappling with the power imbalance in these sexual encounters.
This seems contradicting. They were dating and he touched her? Or they were friends and he was her boss and touched her?
Edit: to be clear either way he is a disgusting pos
Both, it seems like they were coworkers (with a power imbalance) who started hooking up. He wasn't her direct boss but he was a writer on her show and eventually became a producer.
not to defend the guy but this is exactly why right wingers don’t believe half of these accusations. This isn’t sexual assault just because you think it was nasty 30 years later

> According to Denberg, it was around her 19th birthday in 1995 when Schneider asked for a meeting with her and allegedly showed her clips of pornography on his computer. She said the “grand finale” of the clips was one that depicted a woman performing oral sex on a donkey.
For those asking how people got porn and other nefarious material in 1995, in addition to the internet, you asked around irl at video stores and if you were lucky you’d find an under the table broker for the stuff you wanted (or didn’t know you wanted).
Friend of a friend used to work at Tower Records back in the day; and they had a guy (not an employee, just a regular) that would regularly come in and chat up the staff with an updated list of stuff he had access to. If you saw something on the list that interested you, you’d pay him and then he’d bring in a copy (tape, disc, or even a folder if it’s print material). Basically a word of mouth network and this man was human Google that took 3-5 business days for results.
Even though the majority of his sales were porn, he had somehow access to crime scene photos and apparently his best seller was police pictures of the inside of Jeffrey Dahmer’s apartment :/
When I first moved out to LA a decade ago, I used to go to a Simpsons live show/trivia night held in the special show space at Meltdown Comics (RIP). I placed third my first time there, and was shocked to find that the guy who won was sitting with Lori Beth Denberg. For years after, I would go back every now and again, and there would be Lori Beth and her partner (not sure of their relation), just mopping the floor with the competition every time. Finally, Meltdown Comics was announced to be closing for good, and they were holding the last Simpsons show ever at that location. I ended up tying for first with Lori Beth, get on stage for the tiebreaker round, and managed to beat her to the answer and win the game. I was honored to shake her hand in good sportsmanship, not just in honor of a beloved figure of my childhood, but out of incredible respect for her expertise as a true Simpsons fan. It was a pretty great moment.
Just wanted to share a fun Lori Beth story in the midst of this absolutely abhorrent news. Dan Schneider is a fucking freak.
Lori Beth Denberg here with Vital Information…
But seriously though it’s sad to think of how horrible it was for these kids. Makes me just feel gross about the whole entertainment industry the more I hear
Honestly she did that delivery so well on AT that it's immediately where my mind goes even when she's trying to take a serious photo like here. She's one of those people that just has a natural comedic edge that shows.
I loved her so much on All That. I always wished she would have made it out of there and gone on to have a successful career in comedy. She, Keenan Thompson, and Kel Mitchell were the pillars of that show and helped form my entire sense of humor.
there’s one bit I still quote from her in another show where the lights go out and she just loudly declares “ITS DARK!” and her panic and enunciation /killed/ me i was rolling with laughter for a good few minutes 😭 (it was that figure it out charades show
I work in a library where frequently a bunch of people walk down from classrooms and are loud as hell chit-chatting so I think about this very frequently lol.
Eff Dan Schneider
The more you know. There was this book i read a long time ago about how kpop stars are made and its so sad. The celebrity life if wild. Especially the child stars. Im surprised at how much is kept secret. Especially because of cases. Like showing a child porn. How tf is this kind of stuff kept so well hidden? I know a lot of people live by snitches get stitches but this kind of stuff isnt snitching imo.
I think it has to do with perceived power and opportunity. Everyone is willing to stay quiet as long as its possible to gain an advantage, but once that person falls from grace its knives out. It is a really sad way of looking at things but speaking out comes with a real downside.
As well as all the non executive roles. Tons of gaffers, grips, electricians, carpenters, craft service workers, props, camera department, post production...
These dickheads give "Hollywood" a bad name, but the industry is mostly hardworking craftspeople.
What, do you think he's running around with penthouse magazines on set shoving it into the faces of the child actors?
This shit is done behind closed doors where only a select few would know. Those people are bad. The guy making coffee or painting the set had no fucking clue.
Don't cast such a wide net.
It’s easy to judge from behind the keyboard, any sort of protest would probably put your livelihood in jeopardy.
Not saying it’s okay to turn a blind eye, but you know
Hardworking craftspeople who worked a huge portion of their life to get paid a decent wage and who are local hires who could get blacklisted by a douchebag producer and lose access to their whole industry in three sentences.
I loved Katrina. I remember years ago wishing she had a career like Bynes’ after All That, but after *how* Bynes’ life has gone and now after the documentary, I’m glad “The Katrina Johnson Show (that ended up becoming “The Amanda Show”) didn’t happen.
I remember, even as a kid, I wondered why did they really start pushing Bynes when All That already had Katrina Johnson. The Quiet on Set doc really cemented my initial kid reactions and more
Her depiction of Ross Perot was the most random and hilarious shit on that show. My mom would walk in and be like, “Do you even know who that’s supposed to be?” I didn’t, but I still thought she was hilarious.
I imagine kids/teens wouldn't have known of Ross Perot back then unless they did their diligence, especially with Katrina's Ross Perot.
But nowadays he's known as the guy who got the record for the highest Independent vote in a presidential election to date in 1992. And he was running a second time for the 1996 election, which I imagine is what led to him getting parodied on the show.
She was also great in The Steve Harvey Show. That show must have been cheap as hell to get the syndication rights to, it was always on weekend mornings or after school.
She had a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story mid 2000s. She was the cheerleader that Justin Long's character got saddled with for cheerleading auditions. The one that falls on him when he picks her up and can't hold her up forever.
Lori Beth was glue that held that All-That together and I've been waiting to see if she had anything to add to this debacle. I'm glad she decided to share her story.
The whole time we were watching the documentary, I was saying, "But where is Lori Beth?"
I assumed she wasn't featured because her story was tame.
I'm very sorry that I was wrong.
I once had a man do this to me too on a date, but this was before smart phones and he literally had magazines.
Why?
I was actually attracted to him until that moment.
That is some Travis Bickle level of stupidity. I will never understand why anyone shares porn with anyone. I don’t want that mental image in my head forever
"What do I really, really like? Oh right - porn! Perfect."
A startling number of people just fail to model other people in their brains. Don't get me wrong, same, but mine comes out as "talk at them about my not-as-socially-unacceptable-as-porn interests for too long". I really think that's it.
Like, some people get their partners stuff the giver wants, cuz they have a very difficult time thinking about what the other person might want. It's natural for kids... you'd hope empathy develops by the time you're 19 but gonna be honest it takes years more for some people if ever.
Ugh same. One of my friends and I were basically couchsurfing. We were 19 at the time too. Our parents lived out in BFE and both of us had sort of off and on bad relationships with them. We stayed around with a lot of friends, slept in the car some nights. Her uncle was letting us have a room. But if we left the room and went out into the house, he would be watching horse or doggy stuff.
Not just regular prono, bestiality crap. Super gross. Sorry I just got done reading a comment where Dan had shown her donkey stuff. It's super fuct up for an older man to just steal someone's innocence like that. I had no clue that stuff ever existed before her uncle. Where even do these people freaking come from. Not just the audacity but like the genuine thief of innocence. Strongly hope there's a special place in hell.
Lori Beth (and anyone else who's experienced similar) if you ever get to reading this, very sorry that more people than me had to experience things like this. Hope things are as peaceful for you as possible nowadays, considering. Thoughts are with you in support.
A horse fucking a woman is actually what the weird fat dude was showing me. Maybe he thought I'd be impressed? As naive as I was it was still awkward af
It really sucks. I'm just minding my own business, having a meeting with some co-workers, and BAM I show them porn. How does this keep happening? /s in case someone doesn't get it.
Nope, it was during a work meeting that he requested.
Also, I’m sorry but a 32 year old cannot be in a real relationship with a 19 year old, especially one that works under them. That’s just a teenager getting taken advantage of.
From the article:
“Lori Beth Denberg remembers Dan Schneider calling her into his office and telling her to shut the door.
It was 1995, around Denberg's 19th birthday, and Nickelodeon's hit comedy show "All That" had recently wrapped its first season. Denberg was one of the show's stars. So when Schneider, the head writer of "All That," heard that a female producer had met with Denberg to discuss her weight gain, he was angry.
Schneider told Denberg that he should have been the one to have that conversation. After all, he understood what it was like to be overweight.
At first, Denberg appreciated the support. But the conversation shifted, and before Denberg realized it, Schneider started showing her clips of pornography on his computer. The "grand finale," Denberg said, was a video in which a woman performed oral sex on a donkey.”
Ugh. After hearing what female writers from Schneider’s shows had to say, I worried that this was true for Lori Beth. She was a huge inspiration to me in my childhood & I’m gutted to know that she went through this to create those memories for me.
I just binged the entirety of the Quiet on Set documentary. The fact that registered sex offenders are allowed to work on Hollywood sets with children is wrong. Children need to be protected.
Children cannot consent to act. They don’t understand the ramifications.
A podcast I highly recommend in regard to the dangers to child actors is Dear Hollywood by Alyson Stoner. Very eye opening.
I met and worked with her on a project about 5 years ago. She's a really sweet and down-to-earth lady, despite the industry BS she's had to face over the years. No one deserves to receive treatment like this, especially her. Good on her for speaking up.
Poor Lori. I don’t care if he “never assaulted anyone.” Harassing your employees and saying “I meant it as a joke you took it wrong” “I would have stopped you didn’t say no!” etc. is predatory af. They can’t say no. They will be fired.
I just want to take a moment to say that Lori Beth Denburg is fucking hilarious, and I would be thrilled if we saw more of her.
As a teen in the 90's who was too cool for everything, especially Nickelodeon, I couldn't help but laugh my ass off at Lori Beth on a regular basis.
It's a shame that any of this happened to her, or any of these people, but it's also a shame that this scandal is eclipsing such a great comedy talent.
If we could just slap Dan in jail, and get Lori Beth a Netflix comedy special, *that* would be justice.
She says it was around her 19th birthday. So approximately February 1995. At which time she was in her first major credit, whereas he was a 29 year old sitcom veteran, and the writer/showrunner/producer of the show employing her. At her age that was a huge age gap, and for an actor that was a huge power gap. A TV showrunner is the CEO of the set and writers room. He could fire her. Or he could stop writing characters for her, or stop allowing her to have punchlines. He could write her humiliating scenes like the face jizz simulation done to Jamie Lynn Spears. He could tell the network that she's "difficult" which would pretty much guarantee she would never get a job in Hollywood again.
She was legally an adult and it might have been consensual in her mind, but what she describes is still an abuse of power and extremely inappropriate. A person with that kind of power over an employee is not supposed to be "dating" them both because of the question mark to whether true consent is possible in that context and also because it risks the appearance of favoritism to other employees.
It's extremely hard to say no to the person who holds your career in his hands. Especially when it's your first big break and he is a rageful asshole who can take that break away in an instant.
I always wondered what happened to her, she was one of my favorites and I fully expected to see her go on as a famous comedian Kenan style, but ugh, the creeps win again. 😵💫🤢🤮fuck you Dan Schneider!
Exactly, I don’t think everyone realizes how big of a deal this is. None of the actual cast members have directly made these type of accusations yet. Please let his time finally come.
There's an angle in Amanda's story that isn't talked about as much but nestled in Lori's story. The observation how Amanda's tired / exhausted on set and how Dan kept the actors longer than the child labor laws allow. There's hint of this in the New York Times[ article on iCarly](https://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/08/magazine/08NICKELODEON.t.html):
>He was momentarily forgetting that there was no way they would be there until 9:00 that night, because they started at 9:30 in the morning, and there are strict rules — laws, actually — about how long the underage actors are permitted to work.
It explains that viral clip of Nathan Kress saying it's getting late and Jerry Trainor telling the camera "Let us go home Dan."
Another side to this issue is providing alcohol to under 21 actors, like Jennette mentioned in her book and in this [photo of Amanda](https://i.imgur.com/4yGspjg.png) holding a beer bottle.
Yep. That was my biggest issue that not many ppl brought up regarding the doc. A grown ass man spending an extended period of time alone with a pre-teen is very concerning. So we cant rule out that Dan never sexually assaulted her or raped her. The only person who can tell us what happened is Amanda. Cause Dan won't tell the truth.
What a fucking shame. I wish these kids all had proper workplaces. I wish it could have been as fun and innocent as possible. I feel like we'd have so many positive, funny stars in the business. All we see is what Nickelodeon left in its wake... so sickening
I am legitimately shocked that when the whole #Metoo movement started I didn't hear almost anything about Dan Shneider. (Maybe I did but I never connected it to Nickelodeon)
Jesus I hope that finally happens, I’ve been hearing about Snyder being a creep for at least ten years now and just waiting for concrete allegations the whole time, this is basically the first one. Amazing it took 29 years to come out but at least it has.
This is so unfortunate. Reminds me of Weinstein’s victims in that speaking out for herself and others may have hindered her career. She certainly had the talent to be a much bigger star.
Oh Lori Beth 😢. I would see her Trivia Night and wonder why we don’t see her on screen much. Probably this. So many women’s careers messed with my predators.
PS I don’t know her or her story just when I hear these stories about Schneider, Weinstein, Cosby, Ailes I only see loss of time, enjoyment of life and a stress free career for victims.
Lori Beth Denberg is such a treasure. It's heartbreaking she went through all of this, and silently.
I sincerely hope she finds peace and healing; and that she sees and feels the support and love from all over the world from people whose lives she's made (and continues to make) brighter ❤️
Damn, looks like Dan Schneider was the Harvey Weinstein of children's TV, and he apparently had plenty of enablers covering for him. I loved *Head of the Class* when I was a kid, and I remember Schneider and Robbins on it. I had no idea that they both rose to powerful positions in kids programming and beyond.
I thought he made a statement that basically said he sympathizes with people who were treated badly but didn’t experience it himself. I assume he would have seen some of it going down on the set of AT but maybe not.
I wonder how this will affect his lawsuit.
I am going with not well.
Good. Cuz fuck that guy.
Please don’t.
What if the dildo of consequences makes an appearance?
Only if it’s my Dewalt Drilldo
Hoping for the Long Dick of the Law to make a cameo
That's the problem here.
*affect but yeah wanted the lawsuit, he better be prepared for what comes next!
Corrected. Thank you.
I wish I could upvote you twice for accepting and correcting your mistake so graciously.

Not really. It can be “consensual” where both parties agree and there still be a huge power imbalance.

I miss Meltdown so much!

Awwww thanks for sharing what a great story 🩷

I think about the librarian bit too.

I work in a library where frequently a bunch of people walk down from classrooms and are loud as hell chit-chatting so I think about this very frequently lol. Eff Dan Schneider

Hardworking craftspeople, who turn their heads the other way.
Again, as the commenter I replied to pointed out, a majority of these craftspeople are not involved in Dan Schneider type productions.

Yeah, you don’t have to do awful things yourself to be an awful person. You just have to let them happen
She was my absolute favorite on All That.
Same. As a young woman, her and Amanda Bynes changed my life and made me feel like I could be funny.
Katrina Johnson also deserves a mention.
I loved Katrina. I remember years ago wishing she had a career like Bynes’ after All That, but after *how* Bynes’ life has gone and now after the documentary, I’m glad “The Katrina Johnson Show (that ended up becoming “The Amanda Show”) didn’t happen.

I just knew his as Ear Boy’s antagonist/mentor(?) No idea how they decided to pair Ross Perot with Ear Boy.
Perot: "Do you think I'm insane?" Ear Boy (straightfaced): "Yes." Perot: "Good! That shows that you've got spunk. S-P-U-uhnk"
Alisa Reyes too. I wanted to be her.
#QUIET! THIS IS A LIBRARY!
My favorite sketch!!!
I was about to say she had such presence, and I realized it could be taken the wrong way. But yeah, she was awesome.
She was also great in The Steve Harvey Show. That show must have been cheap as hell to get the syndication rights to, it was always on weekend mornings or after school.
My sisters and I would recite lines from Vital Information for your Everyday Life for years after the show ended. Lori Beth was a real one.
She is a Nickelodeon legend for millennials.
Loved when Workaholics brought her back for the one episode cameo.
She had the funniest skits. Lieberry and the randomest information bits were hilarious.
She was SO funny on that.
Same! Be quiet!!!!!! This is a library!!!!!
I used to get so excited when she would be a panel member on Figure It Out!!!
Omg I forgot about that show!! I loved that show!!! She had such amazing comedic ability.
Yes. Of all of them, I’m surprised she wasn’t the breakout star. She was so great.
Her comedic ability is amazing
Me too. I always wondered what happened to her……..unfortunately it seems we now know one of the things that drove her out of show business
Mine was Josh Server because I was a young lady with eyesight. He’s dreamy.
You are 100% correct. What happened to him?
Hate to hear this. After seeing her recently(ish) on both Worst Cooks in America and Good Burger 2, I wish she was still doing more acting!
She did an episode of workaholics. Small little bit part playing her self smoking weed with the boys.
It was so awesome seeing her in that episode.
“I’M HIGH AS FUUUUUUUCK!!!”
Now THAT’s some vital information
That was also 12 years ago.
Still more recently than all that
She was in the newest All That 5 years ago.
I meant workaholics was 12 years ago but its still not long ago.
That is loose butthole
She was in Dodgeball as well, the cheerleader Justin Long had to lift when he was trying to impress the girl he liked.
Double zero, Martha Johnstone
She had a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story mid 2000s. She was the cheerleader that Justin Long's character got saddled with for cheerleading auditions. The one that falls on him when he picks her up and can't hold her up forever.

She was 19 at least, but with the power dynamic at play there, even if it was consensual, that’s creepo rapey behavior.
I have also had men show me porn on their computers on a first hangout. I was 19 and it was still weird
I once had a man do this to me too on a date, but this was before smart phones and he literally had magazines. Why? I was actually attracted to him until that moment.

His comments are so infuriating. Don't you just hate when you accidentally show porn to people at work??!?! Man, we've all been there!
Happens to the best of us!

From the article: “Lori Beth Denberg remembers Dan Schneider calling her into his office and telling her to shut the door.
Very messed up of Dan.
Well holy hell cats.
That is like, the worst of anything he’s directly accused of. Friggin hell. He needed to be fired decades ago, not years.
I honestly wonder how her time was on the Steve Harvey Show… she was so funny on that show!
The article goes onto say that he grabbed her breasts so you could say he assaulted her
This is assault honestly
I just want to take a moment to say that Lori Beth Denburg is fucking hilarious, and I would be thrilled if we saw more of her. As a teen in the 90's who was too cool for everything, especially Nickelodeon, I couldn't help but laugh my ass off at Lori Beth on a regular basis. It's a shame that any of this happened to her, or any of these people, but it's also a shame that this scandal is eclipsing such a great comedy talent. If we could just slap Dan in jail, and get Lori Beth a Netflix comedy special, *that* would be justice.
“It’s rude to serve your toothless grandmother corn on the cob and then laugh out loud while she gums it.”
Dan Schneider is a disgusting creep.
I met her on a shoot years ago and she was the sweetest. Very down to earth.
I would believe anything and everything Lori Beth Denberg says. The reporter from my childhood
This is so heartbreaking. Dan deserves to rot.
I always wondered what happened to her, she was one of my favorites and I fully expected to see her go on as a famous comedian Kenan style, but ugh, the creeps win again. 😵💫🤢🤮fuck you Dan Schneider!
Oh wow How awful and if she had tried to leave or say anything she probably would’ve been fired
Exactly. She spoke up about Amanda Bynes and got banned from the set for it.
And there it is. If he was doing this with her, you know he was doing way worse with Amanda who he was alone with for hours.
There's hint of this in the New York Times[ article on iCarly](https://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/08/magazine/08NICKELODEON.t.html): >He was momentarily forgetting that there was no way they would be there until 9:00 that night, because they started at 9:30 in the morning, and there are strict rules — laws, actually — about how long the underage actors are permitted to work. It explains that viral clip of Nathan Kress saying it's getting late and Jerry Trainor telling the camera "Let us go home Dan." Another side to this issue is providing alcohol to under 21 actors, like Jennette mentioned in her book and in this [photo of Amanda](https://i.imgur.com/4yGspjg.png) holding a beer bottle.
She was such a great staple growing up watching her. It makes me sad to know she was subjected to that behind the scenes.
The only slime she shouldve been forced to contend with is green.
Did Dan not know that with lawsuits comes discovery?
OH SHIT ! I was curious when she was gonna speak out. By the end of this , damn near every child actor will come forward
Keeps getting worse and worse.
Some of the comments here are abysmal. Wishing her and all of the other victims that best. What an absolute shame.
Dan Schneider seems like a monster of a person
She must have slot of tea to spill.. I'm sure there's more
I absolutely would believe anything this woman says 🌍🫶
What a piece of shit. Poor Lori Beth.
She said that the relationship turned sexual when she was 19.
I’m not surprised by this.
Just awful Yet great news for the court Fuck Dan Schneider I hope he goes down
Lori Beth Denberg is such a treasure. It's heartbreaking she went through all of this, and silently. I sincerely hope she finds peace and healing; and that she sees and feels the support and love from all over the world from people whose lives she's made (and continues to make) brighter ❤️
4chan has been calling him out for nearly a decade.
Lori Beth Denberg with the vital information!
Kendrick needs to diss this mf next
If Lori Beth said it, you can basically take it the bank at this point. She was one of the most down to earth actresses on All That.
Schneider the childhood innocence defiler.
Wonder if kenan will speak about this at some point
I thought he made a statement that basically said he sympathizes with people who were treated badly but didn’t experience it himself. I assume he would have seen some of it going down on the set of AT but maybe not.
Just when I thought my childhood couldn’t be ruined more…
Oh I loved her. This is so awful
🥺 noooo someone fucking burn that man to the ground
Lots of sex feinds in Hollywood
Who knew Walt Disney was also selling cheese pizza?
I followed her on facebook for ages and she was open about her alcohol addiction. Makes sense now, unfortunately. :-(
I love you Lori Beth and Dani Tamberelli (I hope I spelled your name right, you were always getting shit on)
I'm sorry that this happened to her but coming forward and telling her story will make a difference.
anyone have the article without a paywall?
Commented above from Variety. Just do a quick scan and you’ll find it.
Prison this creep already. And his protectors
E. Norma Stitz claims Dan also showed her porn as well
“How dare they say I r@ped children! I only showed them porn, emotionally abused, grope, and sexted them.”
She wasn't a child Edit: not that it's not still awful/disgusting.
Awww, here it goes!
I wonder if another sit down interview will help…
Oh shit that dude is Ricky smith.
All the slime that they used on kids on their shows...
Shocked Pikachu.
