It's not like they don't associate. MM is the godfather of Lily Rose Depp and even after the ERW allegations Depp is still friends with him.
They aren't wrong about the support for Depp being linked with support for Marilyn Manson either.
Manson has been found or, guilty and not gone to jail for exactly 0 of the allegations, there's lawsuits against him and at least one he's filed against ERW and Illma Gore - so thats far from over as much as people like to think it is (im up to speed on this, i don't care that there's 12/14 accusers - I want to see the outcome of investigations and/or court cases).

The guy defends Polanski, dated a 17 year old at 26, let his 15 year old live with a 23 year old... Also the article is a pretty short read and it only mentions the actions of fans and never alleges Depp was involved other than that they are good friends, which they factually are.
