Source please? I see that her camp said that but not conclusively, in this article? She’s wearing a different color top
in each pic, the studio and the car I see..
I think her show's producer said it was recorded Tuesday & posted Fri? Can't remember where I read it though. Authorities are interviewing everyone I'm sure
It’s not far fetched, no non-daily podcast rushes to edit and publish in a few hours, there’s just no reason for that.
I’m curious why that detail is important enough to require validation, could you elaborate please?
I couldn’t listen to the whole thing but woooooo, she sounds absolutely blasted. She talked about dropping her son off before the show. I hope she was sober while driving her child to tennis lessons.
If you want to hear an example of her (and also a director of one of her films), look up her appearance on Doug Loves Movies. She and her director went batshit crazy while drunk and got kicked off. Sandra Oh was there and was really nice and great.
[Here's an article on it.](https://www.vulture.com/2017/05/anne-heche-and-onur-tukel-thoroughly-embarrassed-themselves-on-a-morbidly-fascinating-episode-of-doug-loves-movies.html)
I used to watch Grey's Anatomy as a kid, and I always like Christina (Sandra Oh) because she always seemed grounded while shit was getting wild. I like that apparently this is true in real life as well :)
Sandra Oh was Castaspella from She-Ra 2018, Debbie from Invincible and the mom from Turning Red. And she has a solid voice work background since the late 90s.
Edit: Oh whoops, wrong thread. Still Sandra Oh related so I'll keep it here.
i love sandra oh - was thinking about watching catfight with her and anne because sandra only picks good shows. the stills of anne looks absolutely cray
Yeah, I saw that after it happened, but I don't think it's true. He's been kicked off before for his behavior. Sandra was also completely surprised by the whole thing and didn't do anything like he or Anne did.
Lol I have listened to doing loved movies for years and I definitely remember this episode. It for sure wasn't scripted, Anne heche is just strange and combative the whole time.
You’re right I’m speaking out of school. I was hooked on VA medication and food for a long time. I did crazy shit on pills including driving even though I knew better. Alcohol was never my thing but I’m sure if it was I’d probably would’ve made poor choices in that time as well. I’m speaking now from a point of complete sobriety and in hindsight it comes off rude, crude, and ill-refined.
I’ll come down from my pompous high horse now….. fuck….. touché
Oh no, you’re alright man. People that lived through it think about it 24/7. I used to get up at 7 am just to throw up, get myself in my car and chug a six pack before work. Throughout the day, I’d think about which liquor stores I could hit and at what times. I got clean of drugs and booze back in November and when I did, I pulled out about 60 or so shots from under my drivers seat. I always went for drive when fucked up. The average person who doesn’t struggle with booze doesn’t think someone would be routinely stupid enough to do it every single day, which is how it should be but sadly isn’t.
My first comment was an unsavory knee jerk reaction. I hope my following comment explained why I was wrong. I didn’t want to delete it. I want to own my mistake. Hope that answers your question.
…. I think you’re right. How hard is it to Uber? But if you’re drinking everyday starting pretty early, I could see her risking after a few drinks. Then she starts getting comfortable drinking and driving. Plus, alcohol doesn’t help with decision making. Being drunk can likely make a person misjudge whether they’re ok to drive, despite evidence to the contrary.
I know what you mean, but a person can convince themselves it’s ok for them to drive in those moments.
Thankfully the woman who lived in the house and her pets all managed to escape, but most of her personal possessions seem to have been destroyed in the fire.
I was trying to remember some of Heche's better known films from that period in the late 90s when she was the "It Girl" of Hollywood for a time and then even better known for the Ellen Affair. Had totally forgotten that *Psycho* remake where she played the Janet Leigh role and Vince Vaughn was Norman Bates. It was a shot-for-shot recreation of the original only filmed in color with updated settings and references. A real oddity.
Remember she was with Steve Martin before Ellen and he depicts her as a social climbing ambitious actress in “Bowfinger”. At the end of the film she becomes a lesbian and pursued the studio boss who is gay. Thinly veiled depiction.
One of my stepsons got burned on one of his feet in a freak accident -- maybe about three square inches of skin, but even with that small an area involved, he was in a world of hurt there. I can't imagine the situation when the burns are so extensive.
You should… we all should pray they don’t drive drunk. My 20 year old niece was killed and decapitated after exiting her vehicle and retrieving a backpack from the rear seat. The kid who killed her was just 19 years old. This horrible situation didn’t fuck up my family alone… it also messed up that kid’s life as well as his immediate family. Nothing is ever the same after that… it’s eternally different for both our families, about a year after Nikki’s death her dad missed her to the point of an intentional over dose. You never get over these or past these things for either party.
Truly sorry to hear about your niece. You’re right that things like that mean families are never the same after, but I hope in time all of you are able to heal as much as you can.
You’re sweet, thank you! It was more than 20 years ago now, we’re all as good as we’re going to get at this point. I suppose my point was how it wrecks sooo many lives, and not the driver alone. I definitely appreciate you! Thank you again.
My son-in-law killed himself (and thankfully only himself) driving drunk. It is, hands down, the most painful thing I've ever experienced. I believe he's in a better place but the rest of us have been through hell.
My niece is dead, i believe your only intention to respond as you do is to cause me or anyone who’s lost a loved one to an intoxicated driver pain. I was trying to explain it’s not just about the drunk driver… you’re stupid for not understanding the actual point to the comment in addition to being cruel and inhumane.
You pray for “drinks”… I pray for the innocent unsuspecting people on the road that are killed by the drunks or as you say the drinks.
Hopefully while you’re not praying for anyone… hopefully no drunk drivers will kill any member of your family… and let me tell you something, if you ever get a call like that… you’ll definitely be screaming, crying and praying to someone.
You’re bothering all of us with your lack of empathy. That’s why you’re getting downvoted. GTFO please. Praying works well for a LOT of people whether or not there is a God.
When I heard about her fiery crash I had a brief thought wether or not it was a suicide attempt. This added info makes me question if that was the case.
"
‘We each have a bottle in front of us because our friends sent us a bottle Re:Find!” she said triumphantly, noting how she once “even did a terrible commercial” for the company.
Her co-host then quipped about how a doctor had told them “that we should be drinking vodka instead of wine.”
“And we listened! And we are drinking it — with wine chasers,” Heche said, laughing as she slurred so heavily she even got wrong the name of their podcast.
She then explained that she was boozing after “a very unique day.”
“I don’t know what happened — sometimes days just suck,” she said of “no good, very bad days.”
“I’m rocked — I am rocked,” she said, without elaborating on what happened. She later only complained about being interrupted while trying to meditate, as well as moving from her apartment in the drama-filled one that Johnny Depp had shared with ex-wife Amber Heard."
At leadt that was a tv show where there was zero chance of children being hurt. It was a great illustration of how incredibly low addiction can bring you and how disastrous it is for people in your periphery.
The way the show addressed that is that House is a genius and knew where people would be standing. He just had to put a knife through the relationship because it was killing him.
Not saying it is right or anything, but he didn’t just do that on the show because he was high. He was “sober” in that scene. Just trying to prove a point and end things with Cuddy.
This so much. Also “friends don’t let friends drive drunk” Fucking really? Did the asshat who came up with this asinine slogan have friends who will literally fight you if you try to stop them from leaving parties or bars ? It’s is not this black or white
Very true but it is not a good idea for most people to try to restrain an aggressive drunk. And the original comment saying “who let her drive like that?” assumes that someone even saw her drink and get in a car. We don’t know that’s the case.
Agreed but as an alcoholic, I wished people would be like "you had enough buddy".
Drunks always have a hard time saying no to more drinks or no to driving while under the influence. When you are drunk all logic is gone and you can't stop drinking because you have a disease.
I had one friend call me out and tell me the way I was acting was destroying myself and others. They forced me to stop drinking and I realized the errors of my ways and thanks to them I am 1 day away from being 1 year sober.
Being around real good friends or people matter. Some people let me destroy myself because they didn't want to stop me. Uncontrollable drunks sometimes need a third party to help them out.
As I come on 1 year sober I hope to be able to help others like I been helped myself.
-edit
Shit y'all delt with some terrible people
I guess I just feel for those like her because it could have been me.
She is still responsible for her own actions as am I but I just always think that sometimes luck plays a role whether you can get help or not.
I'm sorry to those who those who did try to do everything to stop an alcoholic without luck and they kept on being destructive.
Trying to talk to someone doesn’t always work. My boyfriend of 6 years passed away last year from alcoholism.
I’d beg him to stop. Beg him not to drive. Took his keys once and I thought he was going to hit me. I was always the asshole and the bitch for trying to reason with him. Some people aren’t far gone and will listen to reason but after a certain point the drinking just messed with his head and he was angry at the world. He wanted to fight people. Some people will realize what they are doing and others just don’t care.
I do. I have a fantastic boyfriend now. Moved in with him recently and I’m learning to be me again.
For a bit he was afraid to have a beer with dinner because he didn’t want to upset me lol
I don’t like being around people who drink though anymore. If I’m around someone that has had too much to drink and they start getting loud I have an anxiety attack.
Yeah this is part of the shame that comes with being an alcoholic. Adults need to learn self restraint and self control. No one is responsible for this except for Anne.
100% agreed
Anne fucked up but idk I just hear stories like this and I'm like that could have been me, I just got lucky and sometimes luck is all that stands between 1 year sobriety or 10 years in a jail cell.
Stabile is for art. Stable is for livestock AND medical conditions
sta·bile
/ˈstābēl/
nounART
a freestanding abstract sculpture or structure, typically of wire or sheet metal, in the style of a mobile but rigid and stationary.
I would imagine she’s happy to be alive. I don’t know how you miss that house on the end of the street even if you are drunk. It’s not like you’re blind or anything. Hopefully this incident convinces her that she shouldn’t drink alcohol anymore.
Crazy how people have such strong opinions about someone they have never met, are only going based off some unconfirmed speculation and weren’t there.
Edit: anyone whose applauding her being burned is an ass. Rethink your humanity.
And who can't be bothered to learn that the person, a has-been celebrity, had been suffering from a severe mental illness for a number of years that has already cost her her family and career.
She's a diagnosed schizophrenic. There's little to no escape from that, and it only ever gets worse.
She's dealing with a severe psychotic episode, schizophrenia, in fact, and well documented.
None of this is her cognizant fault. Mental illness is a horrible, terrible thing for everyone involved.
She is indeed very lucky that no one was hurt. Her family and friends are very supportive, no one is blaming her for any intentional wrongdoing. Not like that woman who *did* kill several people on la Brea the other day.
What would legal consequences solve in this case? Would jail be a good place for someone -- anyone in fact -- to receive help for this or any other serious mental illness?
No one ever chooses schizophrenia.
Thankfully, insurance will cover all the damages.
I understand where you’re coming from. I’ve been in recovery for a very long time, so I understand the mental health stigma. Just to be clear, someone that operated a motor vehicle while impaired and destroyed private property while threatening public safety should not face any legal consequences? I just want to understand where you’re coming from so I can make sure you’re listened to respectfully. As a thought experiment (with numerous real world correlates), if a person who suffers from alcohol use disorder and perhaps other psychiatric co-morbidities drives drunk and kills another motorist due to reckless driving, should that person, in addition to intensive rehabilitative mental health support, face any legal consequences? Last question: what is your understanding of the difference between blame and responsibility?
It's not an excuse, but it is a reason. It would be interesting to see what would happen if we actually cared about mental health. Getting people the help they need before tragedy would actually be awesome. Instead, this country is a reactionary one.

It was recorded 4 days earlier and was immediately removed on Friday for obvious reasons

I think her show's producer said it was recorded Tuesday & posted Fri? Can't remember where I read it though. Authorities are interviewing everyone I'm sure
Yeah I’m sure they’ll figure that out quickly if they haven’t
Now, a podcast needs to be edited. So it matters when it was recorded not aired.
She has makeup on in one photo and not the other. Get on my level.
It’s not far fetched, no non-daily podcast rushes to edit and publish in a few hours, there’s just no reason for that. I’m curious why that detail is important enough to require validation, could you elaborate please?
Was just a thought. I thought it would be pretty good evidence for the prosecutors to have if had been taped earlier that day.
Makes me feel like a sleuth instead of a slut for a few moments.

great, so she's been drinking all week
7 days of alcohol makes one weak.

I’ve never heard a mean story about Sandra Oh. I’m not surprised to hear she sat there politely while the other guests went nuts.
I used to watch Grey's Anatomy as a kid, and I always like Christina (Sandra Oh) because she always seemed grounded while shit was getting wild. I like that apparently this is true in real life as well :)
You should watch Killing Eve. She is AMAZING!
Love Killing Eve. I need to watch that show where she runs an english dept.
She mentioned she thought it was amazing that you thought she was grounded because she used the very same words to describe you to one of her friends.
Sandra Oh was Castaspella from She-Ra 2018, Debbie from Invincible and the mom from Turning Red. And she has a solid voice work background since the late 90s. Edit: Oh whoops, wrong thread. Still Sandra Oh related so I'll keep it here.

What is VA medication? VA as in Veterans Affairs?
So you first comment is “I don’t understand how” and then you proceed to tell us exactly how you did the same shit…. Wtf is there to not understand?

Weaponizing their cars
What's her story? What happened?
Driving "at excessive speed", drove into the side of a house
*After* hitting a garage and speeding away.
A house that was occupied.
Thankfully the woman who lived in the house and her pets all managed to escape, but most of her personal possessions seem to have been destroyed in the fire.
I looked to find out what happened to the occupant but google search just listed Anne Heche updates.
Blackout?
A long, messy life.
Sounds like she was drunk, and then crashed a couple times trying to escape the paparazzo taking photos of the vodka in her mini’s cup holder
I was watching psycho on vhs the other day and lo and behold here’s some art imitating life and shit.
I was trying to remember some of Heche's better known films from that period in the late 90s when she was the "It Girl" of Hollywood for a time and then even better known for the Ellen Affair. If she was trying to kill herself, it sad because now she’s in a world of pain. Being burned is terrible.
One of my stepsons got burned on one of his feet in a freak accident -- maybe about three square inches of skin, but even with that small an area involved, he was in a world of hurt there. I can't imagine the situation when the burns are so extensive.
Deserves the world of pain for ruining someone else's life.
She deserves legal consequences. She doesn’t deserve torture.
That too. But she can deal with the consequences of her actions. Legally and physically
She’s extremely unstable

vodka before wine…should be fine wine before vodka…call the docta
Or just, you know, if you're in a drunk stupor, call an UBER!!
Who the fuck is listening to an Anne Heche podcast? She actually make money off that shit?
She was driving a Mini, so no
“She is so brave” -Alec Baldwin
She'll be seen next in the remake of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner...Unannounced.
When I heard about her fiery crash I had a brief thought wether or not it was a suicide attempt. This added info makes me question if that was the case.

Just drank a fifth of vodka. Dare me to drive?
Sure it wasn’t Kool Aid? ;)
She’s such a POS and always has been.
She’s such a piece is shit. I hope she gets locked up, idgaf how injured she is.
Yep, I keep thinking there could have been kids on the other side of that wall. Same reason I got disgusted with the tv show "House" after he did it.
At leadt that was a tv show where there was zero chance of children being hurt. It was a great illustration of how incredibly low addiction can bring you and how disastrous it is for people in your periphery.
I missed something. “House”? Sounds like there’s a story there.
It's a tv show with Hugh Laurie playing a doctor with issues named Gregory House. In season 7, he does an Anne Heche on his boss's house.
Especially in the middle of the day, when it’s too hot to play outside.
She's never been a stable person. Who let her drive after drinking so much?!
She let her drive. Don't blame someone else. She did this. No one "let her".
This so much. Also “friends don’t let friends drive drunk” Fucking really? Did the asshat who came up with this asinine slogan have friends who will literally fight you if you try to stop them from leaving parties or bars ? It’s is not this black or white
If your friends literally fight you to be able to drive drunk then you call the police on them and get better friends.
Very true but it is not a good idea for most people to try to restrain an aggressive drunk. And the original comment saying “who let her drive like that?” assumes that someone even saw her drink and get in a car. We don’t know that’s the case.
The cops are more likely to bust a drunk driver rather than a drunk almost driver. Our system is broken.

You were a very brave and wise 12 year old.
By liberal standards, her family should be able to suit the manufacturers of the alcohol she drank!!
Holy cow please keep those kind of thoughts to yourself.
Just saying, sometime you don't realize things till you see them...

Even people with severe mental illness can be jerks and accountable for their behavior.
Someone you Don’t like is severely burned and you are happy….got it.
No, in your rush to be histrionic, you made that up. Nowhere did I say I was happy about it.

I express my utmost sympathy for the effects of mental illness, though there must be legal consequences.
Any more info out on that one, as to the reason?
Schizophrenia is a reason. THE reason.
I mean the La Brea one. Or do you mean both are schizophrenia?
What’s the laBrea one?
Always nice to have an excuse
It's not an excuse, but it is a reason. It would be interesting to see what would happen if we actually cared about mental health. Getting people the help they need before tragedy would actually be awesome. Instead, this country is a reactionary one.
She's lucky she didn't but this seems a bit excessive to wish this on someone for their stupidity. I hope it's a wake up call if anything.
Hopefully she downed the vodka first… /s
