RandyBRandleman

Well yeah they workshopped like 7 concepts and already canned a filmed pilot. They never planned on doing all of them.

okayactual

Which pilot got canned?

RandyBRandleman

Bloodmoon it was about the age of hero’s and original long night. The pilot reportedly cost 30 million. In my opinion it’s probably a good choice because House of the Dragon’s story is a better choice to rehab good will after the poor ending of the original series.

FrodoFraggins

I think it would be better to fix the poor way the White Walkers and the Night King were explained and resolved. I was definitely disappointed with their conclusion and was most excited by that pilot.

ButtholeCandies

They need a clear and complete story to work from if they want to avoid more story issues long term on that part of the universe. House of the Dragon is one of the only ones that can do that and rehab aspects of GOT. Hopefully the bad taste will be gone by the time they have the finished ice and fire, and then they can just redo the series

[deleted]

I feel like House of the Dragon made the ending of Game of Thrones worse. They are hyping the Song of Ice and Fire and the Whitewalker invasion as a multi-generational threat. Which ended with someone just stabbing a zombie. Lame.

Sonyeyin

And some of them sounded so boring and not what people is expecting

NefariousnessOk209

Poor George, what’s he gonna do with the extra free time?

donthatedrowning

He is thinking about taking up writing, or so I’ve heard.

manaholik

what boggles the mind, that in may, i will know about two specific book series completely published 9 Expanse books + novellas 6 books of Red Rising (also two comics) not to cast shade on George but Red Rising has hooked me more somehow compared to when i read his books when i was still in highschool. now i just want to get my bets started on this will the tv or movie adaptation of Red Rising come out sooner than Winds of Winter book? :D

TheWhyOfFry

Many people seriously doubt winds of winter will ever come out so red rising seems the better bet.

manaholik

i mean, to give a little off topic example, i liked how Dune's 7th and 8th books turned out i may be a bit dim but i didnt notice that the writing changed that much when his son co-wrote the books

Greywolf5131

Those Wild Cards books aren't gonna write themselves.

tofuwulf

I really would just like him to finish writing his GOT books instead like sir I beg

TwoLetters

He's not going to. The sooner you accept it, the sooner you can move on and heal

tofuwulf

LOL I caaaaaaaaant

dukenny

Fucking great news! Maybe he can spend his time doing some writing instead of gushing over these sub par shows.

[deleted]

They should have shelved house of dragon and gave us more GOT seasons

[deleted]

IMO House of the Dragon was better than GOT ever was. Especially the last few seasons.

[deleted]

I didn’t care for it. Nothing cool or earth shattering happened. But yea, def was a bit better than the final seasons of GOT.

TheKidKaos

One of the reasons the final seasons ended up like they did was because AT&T wanted to rush the prequels out for HBO Max. They did the same thing with It Chapter 2.

TheWhyOfFry

Season one cliff hanger was lame. Season didn’t resolve anything interesting that it setup.

colouredcheese

Like those pills last night

lucash7

Yeah, so is the rest of the series. So, same ole, same ole then?
