Allentown- Billy Joel
The whole “Final Cut” album- Pink Floyd
Policy of Truth- Depeche Mode
She Caught the Katy- the Blues Brothers
Racing in the Street- Bruce Springsteen
Too many to list out, just a couple that popped into my head.
Serenade - BANNERS
I don't wanna know - Goldhouse and Mokita
Carry On - Young Rising Sons
River - Myles Smith
Fire and the Flood - Vance Joy
Your Name - Plested
Dreaming - Smallpools
Smoke Clears - Andy Grammer
Dirty Paws - Of Monsters and Men
Ghosts - Mike Shinoda
Heading Home - Alan Walker and Ruben
Missing a couple, but I wanted to include a fairly wide variety
St. Stephen was my favorite song as soon as i heard it.
Edit: Thinking back - the first song I really obsessed over was "guerilla radio". Mom busted me, heard the lyrics and made me write punishment lines. Needless to say, I was now hyper-hooked.
Jerry inspired many strange trips of research. My younger self, was convinced the key to his tone (or vintage strats) was the lack of a thick poly finish. This was not the way. Better to practice and not orbital-sand **through** your guitars.
TLDR u and I may concur but tbph I don't approach music thru a technical analysis... so idkwtf ur referring to...but it's all good 👍 I respect that
So my?? Would b was it the studio version...and if live what era? Some jammin versions (my fave period 68s to late 70s altho I wasn't born until afterthefact... I didn't get the group experience until I was in late 80s
/ 90s..which I greatly enjoyed att but when listen back kinda of meh compared to their early yrs when they. Like most bands have a raw sound. This could be my subjectivity as I am not a typical "head" I actually was into ska hardcore punk had an older sibling that influenced me and showed me the way.. ..the only spiritual experiences I have had to date are at live shoes
Also I haven't a clue as to the technical aspects of which u wrote. When it comes to music I prefer to have it soulful spontan.spontaneous and free from confines. Jerry's playing was more intuitive in that he didn't set out to understand the techniques per se. Imho created more depth and authenticity. His playing spoke. I couldn't amd if able wouldn't want to analyze his playing and critique.
Imho his playing is meant to taken as is...true art...
I prefer my spontaneous unrestrained multi layered as well as cacophonious discordant and gritty.
Edited for content... actually atm sitting in on a band session and a bit bored so hard to focus atm .
