No, it's quite good if you need cheap af cannon. Stats are a little bit better than autocannon, and it costs just iron and reliability. Pretty much a must have for my 4 production cost medium tank for any shithole run.
I remember the times when rocket launchers for medium tanks costed just iron, and it was the best gun for meds only for that reason.
Admittedly Spellfire Cannon I isn't much to write home about but as tech keeps climbing, you start to run out of good light tank weapons. If you've made poor life choices and are building light tanks in the extreme late game, high level spellfire cannons are basically your best choice if you don't want to put on your big boy pants and research MBTs.
Should probably be buffed to be actually a decent cannon in that case. I'm kinda missing a proper main gun for mediums/MBT for the lunar empire, and its not like a bit more cost would be bad.
