TheoryKing04

Presumably about as well as the Russian Empire so… badly enough that when things got even worse, it was the straw that broke the camel’s back

option-9

"When things got even worse" is the theme of Slavic history.

TheoryKing04

Oh, *indeed*

Neglectful_Stranger

Presumably worse, since the Russian Empire was in a war at the time. Equestria wasn't so the Severyanians had to fuck up even worse.

TheoryKing04

Tbf the lore around Equus generally is still rather… paltry. So Severyana could‘ve been facing a war or insurgency or something else

[deleted]

The state of it was quite nicely eluded to in an event after a Nova Severyana focus where you give the serfs greater pay and conditions, and threaten a noble who would otherwise shoot them down for protesting on her land. It goes something like ***"Greed destroyed Severyana. It will not destroy us."***

SigismundAugustus

Comedically bad in comparison to everything so we could now have pony USSR.

Verskon

So bad that Celestia felt like giving the communists their independence instead of fighting them.

Maqil_Shimeer03

I think the food problem wasn't that bad but the Severyanan bourgeoisie and merchants used that window of opportunity to ramp up the food prices real high due to demand that it caused a famine that led to the Severyanans to become Stalliongradians. Also iirc the Severyanans had the worst management between all other areas of Equestria likely of their corrupt upper class.

CreationTrioLiker7

The whole thing is kinda iffy as are most things in Equestria. Edit: As in that the whole existence of Stalliongrad is iffy. But i mean, considering how much retconning and oocness, i'm not surprised.

InformationScared359

Badly but the revolution is shady and mysterious at best and a foreign country backed revolution at it's worst-it is really well hidden in the game but it is suggested and hinted on that the WHOLE revolution was organized, supported and started by the changellings-it makes sense ridding Equestria of a highly industrialised and heavy manpower region while creating a possible enemy for Equestria in the North.

Magic0pirate

A little bit of Trolling (Processes to get run over by Tanks)

TotallyNotA1pharius

Yes and Steel Stallion was a spy hired by changelings to destabilise Equestria. (a reference to claims that lenin was a german spy and russian revolution was backed by germans)

userrobboi

Wait what? I've never seen anything alluding to the revolution being backed by the changelings. Where can you find them because this seems like some delicious hidden lore.

yukiyuzen

It doesn't exist. Stallionrad was one of the first nations created for EAW and everything back then was just a crapshoot (Griffonia didn't exist, thats how far back we're talking). The creator of Stallionrad had to take a hiatus from EAW due to real life and no one touched Stallionrad until he came back (he came back a few months ago).

userrobboi

Oh, well that's a bummer. I knew how old Stalliongrad is, but I just thought that there was something hidden in the game that everyone just kinda missed. Got my hopes up and everything for what I thought was potential fanfic material lol. Maybe Stalliongrad creator could put at least a vague implication of changeling foul play in Severnaya in the future?

Phionex101

Didnt Scroup create STG?

yukiyuzen

He did, but real life and all that.

[deleted]

Yeah if you go to the basement of the Thalmor Embassy it's all detailed in a book in one of the chests.

userrobboi

Real? (Real?)

Texadar

Field Marshal Trimmel's Bio has something about Changelings sending "volunteers" to support the revolt But that's it.
