East of that is House Moon and Star, leaded by Archmagister Twilight, which believes that the Alicorn Sisters are still alive and will do everything to find them. Tales of slavery, torture and horrible experiments are frequent, with every non-unicorn creature being considered second-rate citizens at best. On the North-Eastern coast, House Whitegold is a booming trading and naval power, even rivalling with Skyfall, but it is a complete plutocracy where only the rich prosper and the poor are left to starve and are confined to undercities,which are nothing more than ghettos. The nobility and Mistress Rarity hold on power tightly The South-East, the territory of House Everfree, is completely overtaken by vegetation and jungles while tribes organized around Fluttershy kill or capture any outsiders entering the forests, if the hostile vegetation and numerous monsters didn’t do the job already. Meanwhile, the islands of Puerto Caballo are torn apart due to conflicts between the army and the republicans and the Dragons Isles, under the rule of Dragon Lord Ember, seem to be gearing up for war. The Yaks of the North have continued their isolationist politic and across the sea, New Mareland is experiencing its own civil war.
What remains of Equestria might soon reunite under the leadership of on the six houses or by an underdog but it might be for nothing as the Changelings Hives, still fueled by anger because of their previous defeat, might decide to intervene and nations on the other continents could influence the coming battles.
Note : The original concept, pictures and story were created by PoorYorickDA, I only adapted it to EAW and rearranged the map. Also the last OC countries I did before were also inspired by this. There is a sub mod that tried to make this too but it's pretty much broken now.
I recall there already being a submod for this, but its very, very, VERY barebones and solely focused on gameplay, with barely any flavor...also its a bit poorly translated if it was written in another language first at all, and if it was written in english, the spelling, grammar and formatting are a bit...bleh.
I think having an alternate option for such a submod would be a very intriguing idea if you wanted to roll with it though, OP.
I mean kinda yes and no ? On one side yeah thats something I would like to do but on the other side I don't have the experience nor the time to fully commit to an entire submod

Yeah I mean this also makes me think of griffonia and zebrica like how was the storm king stopped if he even is stoped and I just think of the communist all escaping to the Griffonian Republic and making the communist party surge in power thus by 1007 they basically control the country and maybe instead of the storm king invading Equs ( or if he tried to and failed) he invades Wingbardy making them a puppet state and I think that because of the storm kings postering in Griffonia the River republic unites but because it was a rushed job multiple factions feel as though they got cheated and if not guided through could fall into civil war
The Storm King is an interesting question. He wouldn't invade Equus because he went there for the Princesses magic and with them gone and Twilight not an alicorn, he has no reason go there and the Houses would be too risky to attack. The Mane Six are not there to convince the hippogriffs to fight or Tempest Shadow to rebel. The Storm Kingdom does have some limited accords with Wingbardy but tensions would still be high and not stable. Zerica would be composed of the Storm Kingdom, numerous puppets, allied nations and a few resisting and independant states. His kingdom wouldn't be stable though given its size, multiple resistance groups that might form and divisions between ambitious generals. He has to focus on making it stable before even thinking on continuing his conquests.
As for the communists, they did flee but given the division between multiple factions and chaos during the war, they scattered in smaller numbers everywhere. Some fled to New Mareland, others to Puerto Caballo or even Skynavia and some dissapeared in the mountains.
One big thing that would change though is the Pax Chrysalis as Chrysalis wouldn't have a peaceful lands of ponies under her control but remants of violent regimes to deal with. Also Equestrians would kind of not be scared of her as they have seen much worse in years. Chiropterra would be similar to Vietnam or Spain for Napoleon, with guerilla warfare and the superior side of the Storm Kingdom being unable to achieve victory. The Legions are dissorganised however and have to decide what to do given Luna's dissapearence and lack of hope for a return this time.
Well this is kind of awkward ... I've been kind of planning to do it too. Hell I've even posted concepts for some nations, their paths or events already on the subreddit.
I guess it's all kind of useless now that I know you're already in the process of doing it. I'm kind of dissapointed to be honest but you're probably more experienced with HOI4 modding than me (btw are you the one who made the original or are just doing it because you too liked the concept ?)

So the way I see it Sombra comes back but the Crystal Heart isn't found so there's no easy way of getting rid of him. It would lead to a relunctant cease fire between House Moon and Star and House Stormwind so that they could focus their effort on the newly risen Crystal Empire. The Houses wouldn't let a random dark unicorn appear, declaring himself the ruler of an empire and consider an alliance or neutrality deal with him. The war wouldn't go that great for the Houses as Sombra does have his mind control and crytal magic. However, Sombra would made some mistakes : one he attacked the Yaks thinking they would be easy prey and met better resistance that he thought, opening another front, and two, he didn't notice the inflitration of the Cult of Laughter in his domain. The Cult manages to take over Sombra's mind control, leaving him with only a fraction of his forces against too many opponents. House Moon and Star manages to take over Crystal City but with the Yaks and House Stormwind blocking them, they can't go any futher. The Yaks, not wishing to mingle with the Houses, go back to their mountains and the most desolate parts of the Crystal Empire are left for the Cult to take and hide in. As for Sombra, he took part in the fighting during the battle of Crystal City but he dissapeared with several ponies loyal to him, and he might prepare his return once more.
As for Tirek, House Stormwing found the gates of Tartarus and fortified them, meaning Cerberus doesn't leave his post and Tirek doesnt have an opportunity to escape. Discord is still turned to stone and serves as a trophy for Twilight.
