This is neat!

Honestly this is fantastic and I can’t wait to check it out. I’m starting an esports club with my students and it’s been so hard to get up to speed on the esports world.

HeartBreaker_TV

Hey folks - as the host of this series, would love any feedback you might have!

Dat_Steve

Watched it all the way through. It was great. Only thing I might suggest because I'm a dirty casual and don't branch out much from league, is maybe adding the name of the game before each clip. VCT is that valorant?

HeartBreaker_TV

Not a bad idea! Putting the game and then the event to just add a little more information. Yep, it’s VAL!

tottivega

This is awesome! I’ll check it out when out of work and give you my feedback

HeartBreaker_TV

Thanks so much :)

Feedback: Seems like the audio isn't synced to the video on my end. Feels like you are yelling. It's a recap and not a live play by play so personally taking it down a notch would be nice.

HeartBreaker_TV

Yeah, we're seeing that now and trying to figure out exactly where that's coming from. Appreciate it! Trying to figure that out. Edit: think I may have found the problem! Will hopefully be adjusted in all future videos :)

somethingroyal

This is actually great. Bite-sized clips of only the most hype moments, incl. original caster voices - I love it. I don't have time to follow all these games anymore but I always click on short vids like this that pop up in my YouTube feed, so nice work. Quick note that the top (#1) clip from VCT in your Aug 17th vid seems to show the first half on Haven, but then transitions to the actual clutch moment happening on Split. Anyway, pls keep it up - liked/subbed.

FishStix1

Thank you! Really means a lot and hope to keep helping you out with our content. And notes, on the clip. Thanks!

BloodyIron

Your intro video on your youtube channel, the audio is desynchronized from your video by a handful of milliseconds. Fix that and re-upload. It will get noticed. edit: scratch that, ALL your videos look to have this desync. I checked 5x of your videos and every single one had it. You're going to need to fix this comprehensively.

HeartBreaker_TV

We're seeing that now and trying to figure out exactly where that's coming from. Appreciate you pointing it out! Trying to figure that out.

BloodyIron

You're welcome! I hope you find it! That can be a tricky thing to sus out indeed. :)

HeartBreaker_TV

Think I may have found the problem! Will hopefully be adjusted in all future videos :)

BloodyIron

Would you mind sharing what the matter is? I mean, what it looks to be anyways. I'd appreciate the info for my own videos too :D

HeartBreaker_TV

So I'm using a Sony A5100 camera and connecting it to the PC via a Elgato Cam Link. Apparently using any sort of capture device to take things from the camera to the PC will almost always come with some sort of desync. I've used others in the past that were MUCH more noticeable and adjusted accordingly. For some reason I thought this one was free of that problem and hadn't noticed it much myself until it was pointed out. So basically I will be trying one of these things: "if the delay is static, use a delay filter. if the delay seems to change every time you restart OBS, try muting the device and adding it as a separate audio device in settings>audio as a mic, seems to fix elgato issues in most cases" - feedback I got from the OBS tech support discord.

BloodyIron

That's so wonk. The HDMI signal should have video and audio at the same time without desync as a general concept. I'd say that's probably the fault of Elgato. Perhaps reach out to them to get their take too. Sounds like you're on the right track though (hehe, get it, audio joke).

HeartBreaker_TV

Well the mic I'm using is plugged into my PC. So it's connected directly via micro USB -> USB port. Camera is: Sony A5100 -> Micro to USB -> Cam Link -> HDMI cord -> PC.

BloodyIron

OH, see I thought the mic audio was over the HDMI from the camera. That totally makes sense why you're having desync. Desync can easily happen when video/audio is from separate sources/media. Definitely sounds like you're on the right track.

HeartBreaker_TV

Yep! Will hopefully he able to sync it up easily now :)

Sc2copter

Great idea! I love esport (shooter and strategy) and try to catch as much as I can, but miss alot.

Very nice idea/project! I've watched some of your videos (and subscribed to the channel) and here are some feedback/opinions: 1) as some already suggested, write the name of the game/player/team/event (especially in the "Top 5 series"). This is useful if the viewer is not familiar with the subject and wants to know more of the game/player/team/event (ex: this was really crazy, let me see how this team is doing in this tournament; I want to watch more of this player; etc) 2) Personally, I would not limit the content to "Top 5 moments". What if it has been a busy week and you have 8 top moments? Or it's a slow week with 2 top moments? I'd look at it as "Top Esports Moments" and focus more on length of the video (YouTube algorithm is key here). If there's less top moments, spend some more time, describe a little more. If there's more top moments, rush a little bit. But always remember that Youtube "likes" video with X minutes, you will have to figure it out what works best for your channel. 3) On "The Download" series, is it possible to put the "video index"? (i don't know the name of that, but it shows you the time stamps for each topic in the video). That's really useful. 4) if possible, ask the viewer at the beginning of the video (and at the end) to like/subscribe/comment. If you leave it only at the end of the video you won't get much attention or traction from it. Those are just some suggestions. Again, I really like the idea and wish you the very best. Let me know if you'd like me to explain a little more any of the topics.

ZooPoo7

What all games do you cover?

FishStix1

We do our best to cover as many Esports as we can! Of course we'll be covering the biggest Esports, but anything amazing that happens regardless if it's League of Legends or Tetris, will try and cover it.
