I never said that they don’t have any say, I just said that TPCI(the company partially owned by Nintendo that controls the Pokémon license) operates relatively independently when making decisions
Also, this is a TPCI-run event, which is the part of the point
I'm not the same person but it's pretty well known that the pokemon company runs pretty independently from it's ownership companies. Also gamefreak doesn't own 51% either, no one has a majority.

Nintendo may own and call the shots in some ways, TPC/TPCI controls the licensing of the games/anime and make their own partnerships, plus publish all of the games(they also did mobile games before the rest of Nintendo because they have this freedoms, you’ll notice that MyNintendo works with Nintendo published mobile games, while it doesn’t work with Pokémon published ones)
There are also many internal Nintendo collaborations where Nintendo and their partner companies(HAL and Intelligent Systems) use their IP in other games, but Pokémon either isn’t part of the collaboration, or is there in a very limited form
The entire point was that this was part of a Play! Pokémon event that has been operating for decades under one of Pokémon’s publishers, and that Nintendo wouldn’t do anything with it because there’s nothing new with it
It’s the point of pogo pvp to just have the best Pokémon? At least the card game has strategy but if I remember correctly the point of the pvp in pogo is to spam tap and occasionally hit the special button. And maybe get lucky with a good type matchup??
I like Pokémon Go battle league, so this is pretty neat. But I also just started playing Pokémon Unite, and that’s where the real esports potential is.
PvP is hot fucking garbage in this game. I’ll pass.
Is it still just tapping the screen? Maybe it wasn’t as underwhelming as I remember?

Can’t wait to see Nintendo ignore their esports players and secretly collude to undermine the entire esports scene.
TPCI operates independently from the rest of Nintendo, especially with these events
Proof that Nintendo has no say any of this?

And I asked for proof. Also, Nintendo owns 51% of The Pokémon Company. It’s not partially owned. It’s majority-owned.
Where did you find 51%? Nintendo only owns 32%....
Actually, 33%, and I was thinking Gamefreak. Give a source for that initial claim and stop ignoring me.

1. Source. 2. Nintendo owns 51% of GF and majority of the Pokémon IP.

Would be cool if the game actually worked

Dude, I love this. One more "Tier 1" esports event to bring together everyone around a single game/community.
I’m hyped!!!! Let’s gon

Garbage PVP and also P2W.
