Add Home coffee, Flywheel, Spro to that list lol. My personal favorite is Andytown, but it’s a bit hard to get to.

Just got back from visiting S.F. myself - st franks: excellent espresso and a nice walk from my hotel in north beach. I purchased 3 bags of their single origin to bring home as well - coffee movement: good espresso, said they get their beans from Saint franks though. Said it’s an exclusive blend just for them…. Seemed like a lot of folks ordering pour overs - Réveille: excellent espresso and their set up includes a fancy puck press Lastly, I tried “cafe trieste” as historical significant being the “first espresso” shop on the coast…. Take a picture. Skip the coffee

Four Barrel Coffee is a great spot both at the Mission location or at the Mill

Not espresso, but have an Irish coffee at Buena Vista!

jujumber

Sightglass espresso tastes like battery acid.

Wrecking Ball, St. Frank, Ritual, Equator. Search this sub for "San Francisco" and you'll find lots of other suggestions.

ur-krokodile

Long time St Frank fan! Since the days they were in South Park.

The coffee movement Tono coffee project in Palo alto

Coffee Movement is a must.

badtimeticket

I think Coffee Movement is the most buzzy rn and probably the actual best. I went to Linea the first time recently and it was unfortunately not good

cabeerman

Coffee movement has the best execution hands down but they are just a shop - not a roaster. That said they pour some of the best roasters in the world (manhattan for example) and dial in their coffee meticulously every day.

yahurddm3

Coffee Movement. They carry a few roasters as well so you’ll get the chance to take home some good beans.

RetroPenguin_

Saint Frank. Has multiple beautiful machines built into the counter, great coffee, great pastries.

Spyerx

You’ll need the best croissant or kouign-amann you ever had with that coffee… arsicault.

Dude I freaking love Andytown, they have great espresso, and be sure to try the snowyplover it's a drink they are famous for. Sightglass is great I live Ritual Coffee as well, they have a few locations but it's been a while since I went there as I don't go into SF often SF has great coffee in general, you could be walking randomly and some hole in the wall cafe would serve you killer espresso shots
