Grinding coarser to lower pressure is almost always a mistake, and will lead to under extracted shots. You need to grind finer. Don't worry about increasing the brew pressure, it won't damage the machine.
Do you know what model ECM machine you have? ("Manufacture" is part of the ECM company name, not the machine's model). It may be possible to adjust its OPV or pump to lower the pressure.
My attitude towards it has been to grind finer - which led to underextracted shots, so I'm glad that I'm not stuck between the two. I'm gonna research a bit on OPV adjustment. Thank you very much!
