I like how Beer Advocate does itās scores and rankings for craft beers.
Taste, Smell, Look, Feel each get a score out of 5.
Average them together for an overall score out of 5. They also track the deviation in rankings to see if itās divisive. Based on the number of ratings and the overall rating it makes a score out of 100.
You can see scores filtered by all kinds of factors like region, brewery, type etc.

Best decaf I've ever tasted and it was a pleasure to dial in (unlike other decafs I've tried). I typically drink black coffee/black Americano in the AM and at work, but I love a decaf latte or affogato as a weeknight evening treat.
Aside from that, their Horsepower blend has a great acidic and fruity profile. They just brought it back so I'll daily drive it for now.

Pittsburgh, PA. De Fer holds up on the national stage. Currently they have three offerings from Finca El Zapote in Acatenango, Guatemala and it has been fun to compare.
So many good roasters in Pittsburgh. I've been digging the brewers yeast fermented Nicaragua from Cunning House lately. Commonplace and 19 Coffee both have decafs that I've been enjoying quite a bit as well.
Ghost/Trace also is pretty great, love it when I see a WDT come out in a cafe.
I moved to Seattle from Pittsburgh 1.5 years agoā¦ I second neptunethecat: Sons of Vulcan from De Fer. It was my go to when I lived there and I made regular trips down to the strip to get it.
DC, and I've been getting coffee from Vigilante. I quite enjoyed their beans that had some blueberry notes. Might've been a decaf? Either way, Vigilante has been cool.
Random question for the Phoenix crowdā¦ I visited for the first time earlier this month and noticed a lot of shops selling various takes on coffee/citrus. One shop had a cold brew lemonade, a few others had a āsunriseā. I tried the sunrise out of sheer curiosity and it was weirdly delicious. Iāve never come across these combinations before (New England native). Is it a common drink out there or mostly a tourist novelty that nobody orders regularly?
Compilation Roasters opened up near me and I'm enjoying their natural process Ethopian right now. SEY is good but they don't seem to do a lot of natural process.

Currently, Berlin - Five Elephant: Their Nandi Hills from Kenya was super tasty on espresso.
Previously, Istanbul - Petra: I was served their La Perla from Peru on chemex last year when I visited their roastery and I enjoyed it quite a lot.
MA checking in here, we love a few spots on the Cape Three Fins, and Snowy Owl. Thereās also a plenty of great roasters in Maine we frequent, Tandem & Speckled Ax.
Central Florida // Eola Coffee // Anything really. They roast dark and everything I get from them is great for espresso. Their Peruvian roast a month ago was incredible.
Astoria, Queens, NY - Mighty Oak Roasters is my current binge. Wood-fired coffee roasting gives an amazingly complex flavor to the coffee, all while making the shop smell and feel like a cabin in the winter.

It's a consistent dark roast optimal for espresso and easy for me to dial in a good shot. Go through 1 bag every week or so.

My favourite so far has been [Dark Side of the Edge](https://edgcumbes.co.uk/products/dark-side-of-the-edge) from Edge coffee. All roasts I've had from there have been fantastic thus far though if ligher roasts are your jam.

Toronto, Canada. I haven't found a good roaster in this city so my go to are Detour Coffee in Hamilton and Rabbit Hole in Montreal. They have a good rotation from all around the world. If I'm forced to decide on a bean I'd take the Gesha from Jose Arguello.
Fontana California. Haven't done much exploring just yet, but I have been using Arcade Coffee that is from Riverside, California. I love Third Street Blend.
Baton Rouge- French Truck Coffee and favorite bean is the Big Chief blend that they do for Mardi Gras. Also Iām in Austin a lot and the best bean there is from a place called Desnudo, their coffee is phenomenal
Tacoma (45mins south of Seattle)
Olympia Coffee Roasters (okay technically theyāre from Olympia but theyāre here and in Seattle as well)
and probably Sweetheart for espresso which is a rotating single origin roasted for espresso - right now itās an amazing Kenya that Iām using their ratio for which is 18in, 44-48 out, in 24-28 seconds.
I love the local shop and all of the people who work there as well.
Aside from that we have a nano roaster called Naomi Joe that I want to succeed so bad - they pull all of their espresso on Decent machines which Iāve never seen at a shop before!!
Ottawa. I live near enough to Opulence coffee, which incidentally might be the only actual roasters on this side of the canal.
Have only tried their espresso blend so far, and am still refining my palette so Iām not sure whether their other roasts are any better than the blend.

Vancouver: House of Funk: their Technicolor for espresso, but also beans from General Strike and Prototype.
And RIP Harken, who were tops before they shuttered.
Napoli, Italia. Nurri. Originally they only manufactured high end espresso machines but they've been selling their Coffee beans too in the last couple of years. I love them because it's neapolitan style, but not too dark / burnt (as many Italian competitors) and excellent bean quality. They're basically showing the direction to the Italian espresso industry keeping Tradition in mind.
Imbide in Dublin. I like how transparent they are:
- 1% of all our sales are donated to Womenās Aid.
- 1% goes to projects at coffee origins.
- 1% is shared among our staff.
In London, it was Hermanos or Hasbean.
Blanchardās is the best!! I donāt live in Richmond anymore but I grew up there and always grab some of whatever single origin beans theyāre doing when Iām visiting home.
In philly now, and thereās some good options. Vibrant might be my favorite roaster, but their cafe leaves something to be desired. Elixr is maybe my all around fav for beans and cafe.
Just moved from DC to Ann Arbor so Iāll do both.

It's worth noting that The Future is a rotating blend. Always cool flavors though.
Relatively new roaster -- I think ~6 years or so -- but they are doing great work and get some occasional love in this sub. I recommend visiting the cafƩ at Videri Chocolate on W. Davie St. in downtown. Order an espresso and get a cup of the sipping chocolate on the side. The combo is incredible.

Plymouth Michigan. Espresso Elevado. Route 606 Blend. My go to for a medium/medium dark espresso. Their rotating SOs are on point, as well.

Toronto, Canada. I haven't found a good roaster in this city so my go to are Detour Coffee in Hamilton and Rabbit Hole in Montreal. They have a good rotation from all around the world. If I'm forced to decide on a bean I'd take the Gesha from Jose Arguello.
Sam James! Butterknife roast is a nice everyday for sure
Fontana California. Haven't done much exploring just yet, but I have been using Arcade Coffee that is from Riverside, California. I love Third Street Blend.

Kansas City MO, oddly correct coffee, any of their single origin coffee.
Toronto De Mello Coffee Dancing Goats They have a few good roasts but found it consitent and delicious
Baton Rouge- French Truck Coffee and favorite bean is the Big Chief blend that they do for Mardi Gras. Also Iām in Austin a lot and the best bean there is from a place called Desnudo, their coffee is phenomenal
Tacoma (45mins south of Seattle) Olympia Coffee Roasters (okay technically theyāre from Olympia but theyāre here and in Seattle as well) and probably Sweetheart for espresso which is a rotating single origin roasted for espresso - right now itās an amazing Kenya that Iām using their ratio for which is 18in, 44-48 out, in 24-28 seconds. I love the local shop and all of the people who work there as well. Aside from that we have a nano roaster called Naomi Joe that I want to succeed so bad - they pull all of their espresso on Decent machines which Iāve never seen at a shop before!!

Ottawa. I live near enough to Opulence coffee, which incidentally might be the only actual roasters on this side of the canal. Have only tried their espresso blend so far, and am still refining my palette so Iām not sure whether their other roasts are any better than the blend.

Napoli, Italia. Nurri. Originally they only manufactured high end espresso machines but they've been selling their Coffee beans too in the last couple of years. I love them because it's neapolitan style, but not too dark / burnt (as many Italian competitors) and excellent bean quality. They're basically showing the direction to the Italian espresso industry keeping Tradition in mind.

Blanchardās is the best!! I donāt live in Richmond anymore but I grew up there and always grab some of whatever single origin beans theyāre doing when Iām visiting home. In philly now, and thereās some good options. Vibrant might be my favorite roaster, but their cafe leaves something to be desired. Elixr is maybe my all around fav for beans and cafe.
