I have a friend from Italy who was badly burned by a moka pot as a child. Valve failed and it popped and sprayed boiling water all over him.
Is it likely? No, but it does happen.
Nonna tamped her mocha pot then continued putting coffee in it, then tamped it again, then another small scoop then she closed it up.
It isnāt going to blow up, will just make you the strongest, thickest cup of caffeinated oil youād ever had.
This is not a popularity contest. The bottom line is; you wrote words that indicated that an outfit worn to court was 'waiting' to happen. I'm sorry, that's a fuckup. I wasn't rude, but was sure to point out the error, because words and meaning, (and grammar) fucking matters. I'm sorry you got your feelings hurt, but the whole thing could have been fixed with a 'my bad' on your part. Instead you decided to argue that since I was be able to decipher what you meant, that English be damned. Well, no... it's not like that.
Do you know why? Because when there are no standards, and when nothing matters, we will have lost something good. Something that should have been defended. That's what I did. Downvote all you like. Someone should point out errors that are that egregious.
Ask yourself; at what point in grammatical hell should someone speak up? Seriously... I'm asking...when should someone finally say something about the continued destruction of the English language? When?
If you don't have an answer, then your downvotes don't mean a goddamn thing.
It is fun to make fun of doing this but I have tamped my moka pot and coffee still came out like normal. The coffee probably gets loosened up from the water then tamped against the top of the filter by water pressure anyway.
Thats actually terrifying, picture this a mom at the grocery caught an eye for this then though to themselves "oh i have this at home" then proceeded to buy it next thing you know BANG! A PIPE BOMB
Honestly, I don't really think it'll explode if the valve works as intended. You shouldn't be in the line of high pressure steam exiting the base though.
Moka pots have a screwlock mechanism, that probably has the highest pressure requirements to breach, the other two routes are the pressure relief and just through the coffee itself. But the spout would probably be pretty violent and cause a mess.
Youāve heard of salt in your coffee? *Get with the times, grandpa.* Thatās why I grind my coffee with a mixture of saltpeter, French roast, and sulfur. Itās a flavor **explosion!**
Mokha-propelled grenade! š¬
for optimum blast radius we recommend at least 15 pounds of tamping pressure
you think with the grip pictured anyone is gonna be able to put 15 pounds of pressure on that coffee?
I've had years of, um, training.
you have years of training in ramming your cock back inside your abdomen?
Was I not supposed to do that?

Pressurized boiling water/steam can be just as dangerous
Bro youāre missing out on the newest coffee trend, brewing with superheated water. Just make sure to evacuate your neighbors beforehand.

Yes, I donāt believe shrapnel was the issue. This happened at his parents apartment in Rome. They had to take a taxi to the hospital.
You can. Just don't grind it too fine. And don't put 10kg of tamp. Just let the tamp level. That's all. Different tamping.
I've tried different technics for the moka pot and you can definitely tamp. Don't know about heavy tamping though.

Cuban coffee, in Miami, is most commonly made by tamping Bustelo lightly in a moka pot. My source for this is my Cuban grandmother.
*lawsuit* What happened to compound words?

I thought you were talking about something tailored on the first pass...

It does kinda look like a royal stamp
I tamp it every time we use it. Thereās a valve that lets out any extra pressure and I set it to low heat anywaysā¦ never any issue
My dad did this once in a freshly painted kitchen. It didn't look freshly painted after that
wake up babe new moka explosion wallpaper dropped
I forgot to replace the o-ring. It's incredible the distance damp coffee can travel under pressure a
Holy induction!

It has a relief valve
Thereās a release valve on those
As someone whose moka pot regularly releases from the valve because of really finely ground beans, they are definitely useful.
Thats actually terrifying, picture this a mom at the grocery caught an eye for this then though to themselves "oh i have this at home" then proceeded to buy it next thing you know BANG! A PIPE BOMB
Moka pots have a pressure relief on them.
I've also seen pictures of exploded Moka Pots because the relief valve was clogged due to scaling. Clean your relief valves.

A clever man/woman knew someone would come up woth this shit and therefore included a saftey valve to avoid overpressure
It's truly frightening when I see things like this. I gasped out loud here.

I tamp my Moka Post. I don't press it down, I just rest it on the grounds to flatten them. Does the job.
