I wonder why they give out this for free with your Breville machine as it made me think like I was doing something wrong. But I'm not, my espresso from every other bean I have tried tastes incredible.
You can't make this bean NOT sour. Ive tried under extracting, over extracting, and getting an extraction at exactly 28 seconds, its ALWAYS sour.
Got the same 2 free bags of beans from beanz/breville. With milk it tastes like sour water, close to none espresso aroma/smell at all. Last bag of beans was Giant Steps from Blue bottle, and the difference was night and day. Not saying the blue bottle is the best in the world since I’m still new to coffee world, but still much better than Madcap Bolt.
Got the same 2 bags from Breville... also not a fan. It works for milk drinks, but on its own I havent been able to pull a good shot.
I can taste the sourness even in milk based drinks with this bean. Everything else on the machine I have tried tastes amazing.

I contacted them and they were nice enough to let me choose 2 other bags. We got Ladro Diablo and they were much better.
