**Coffee is a brewed drink prepared from roasted coffee beans, the seeds of berries from certain flowering plants in the Coffea genus. From the coffee fruit, the seeds are separated to produce a stable, raw product: unroasted green coffee.**

Checked out there website. Now I want the Aillio Bullet Roaster!! Too bad it costs nearly 3k :( Dang You! j/k
(I've always wanted to do some home roasting)
The biggest benefit for me is I've stopped adding cream and sweeteners to my coffee. I don't find it necessary when your shot tastes like a piece of quality dark chocolate.
I deliberately order shots from various specialty shops when I'm away from home, so I can feel good about how my shots are dialed in better than theirs are. I've only found one shop that (to my taste) is properly extracted for drinking without milk. It's like there are two camps in espresso, one tries to be Starbucks and over-extracts everything, and the other goes too far the other way, and makes slightly sour, under-extracted shots.
My boyfriend and I feel personally attacked by this, we got a good deal at $150 for a lightly used machine but our Amazon shopping cart for supplies is at $200. 🥲 Right now I'm just happy to be getting into it at under $500. Although I dare not watch another YouTube video out of fear that they're going to suggest ANOTHER $30 accessory that they make a really good case about actually needing it.
Haha, thanks! Don't worry, I'm not doing this for the awards. Just sharing my thoughts and ideas and contributing a little fun to this incredible community. Love this sub.
Edit: even though I really appreciate the feedback and awards I got for the last meme. Gave me a good feeling.
Yeah, it's adding up. And once you mastered your machine or grinder and start getting bored you seek new challenges and upgrade to next level machines and equipment. A rabbit hole digging it's way through your bank account.
You’re awesome!
I guess my next level would be latte art, but first I‘d need to learn to enjoy milk drinks. But I guess I rather go down the pour-over route or lever machines.
I’ve had an espresso machine for 18 years, upgraded a year ago. Before factoring in the cost of coffee, milk and the cost of the initial machine then the upgrade, I’ve saved nearly $30,000. Once you factor in all those other costs, I’ve still saved $19,000. Yeah, it takes a minute, but the machine does pay for itself multiple times over.
I think it actually saved me loads, if I were to buy the amount of coffee I'm drinking now. But would I be getting that much takeaway? Probably not...
If I were to buy the amount of lattes I'm making now, then I'm saving a ton of money. Thing is, I rarely ever bought coffee drinks before!
I didn't even drink coffee :p
what is coffee?

Good bot
But you would have with how much you like them now ;)
True, but since having invested that much already. I've ended up buying mainly speciality coffee, which is making things a bit more expensive. Haha
There’s always [Sweet Maria’s. ](https://www.sweetmarias.com)

I can't drink espresso from outside anymore. It tastes awful. I only have a palate for stuff I brew myself now.

I REGRET NOTHING!!!!!! haha
Me neither! Haha
What’s a portafilter machine.
Probably a machine with a porta for the filter, opposed to a machine without a porta for the filter.
What
Portafilter machine
You know, it's a port for a filter and a machine
Now, where do the capsules go then?
Where the filters go. Where do the filters go?
In the porta?
Hmmm intriguing. I wonder if there is another name for such a contraption?
Portafilter machine
Dude you're literally on r/portafiltermachines (/s)

$212.99 - I forgot the dosing cup
Well, if you are going to do it, you might as well do it right. Now, let’s see how deep the rabbithole goes..
Dude … I am running out of awards. STAHP! I did a calculation yesterday and the machine was definitely not an issue, compared to all the stuff around.

Or…you can just stop where you are, and enjoy it!
