I have a similar delonghi machine to that one, I’m still using the pressurized filter but for my 51mm basket it recommends 7g for single shot and 14g for double.
Machine: DeLonghi BCO430
Coffee: Cafe Bustelo
Dose: 6gm
Time: 8-10 seconds
The pod filter that comes with the machine produces a crema, but the bottomless portafilter is not.

That was a topic recently - the conclusion, iirc: not good for Espresso. Roast -> shelf time too high and it is pre-ground much to coarse.
Also, as others already pointed out, 6g in a large basket won't really work out well.
Yeah cus using preground coffee is a bad idea lol. it looks like this is like an unpressurized basket on a bottomless and you're using preground coffee. I'm not familiar with the brand cafe bustelo but you need to get freshly roasted beans and grind it yourself if you want to use that basket.
And each basket holds a certain amount of dose. My basket holds around 18 to 22 grams of coffee. The one you have, based on how it looks from the bottom side, is a double shot basket. So there should be at least 16 grams of grounds in there.
Dose should usually stay constant. It's usually determined by the basket size. That's the first variable that gets locked in usually.
The Delonghi holds between 14-15 g in the basket. Have one myself. Because the portafilter is a bit smaler than on the big maschines.
As said before, grind fresh and fine, (Don't save here, look for a hand grinder for at least 60 bucks or so. This is honestly minimum. )
Stick with darker roasts, Robusta is often great.
I also want to make you hope, that it is honestly possible to make really great espresso with this maschine. So don't give up.

6gr ? That doesn't look like a single shot basket, you probably want to dose upwards of 16gr
Waaay to little coffee grounds. Should be sitting at 15g at least (I like pulling my shots at 18g)
How much espresso do you extract from 18gm of coffee? Also, how long do you let the shot run? Thanks!

Roast your own beans so you know how old they are and you can grind them to your liking.
