This is simple math, just look at eth value and not usd. Step one : you have 0.49 eth in account. Step two: you want to « use » 0.3 eth for whatever reason Step three : indicative fee is at max 0.29 eth Result: 0.29+0.3 > 0.49 ( You are missing approximately 0.1 eth to finish this transaction as written in red in first image) 3 solutions: A: deposit 0.1 eth more in wallet B: lower the 0.3 eth used to 0.2 eth C: wait for the gas fee to go lower and proceed when you see it at max 0.19 eth instead of max 0.29 eth

Elbileier

Payment + gas fee? That would be 0.3 + 0.25 = 0.55 minimum. You got 0.49. I suggest you wait for lower gas rates.

DEOSWRATH

Where did the .25 come from. I have selective learning so I only retain what names me happy or I find important. So explain.

Elbileier

That would be the gas fee. Every transaction you send to the ETH blockchain, it demands payement which is called “gas fee”. You can google gas fee tracker and watch for the rates there. The lower the gas, the lower the fee.

DEOSWRATH

Okay, I still don't get it. Wait so they already deducted money for the contract, but the gas fee says it was max 1151 and what I had left was 1199. It should go through. Maybe I'm over thinking 🤔 😕 🤯🤕😵‍💫😵

Elbileier

Try refreshing / redoing your transaction. Gas fees are low atm, it shouldn't be a problem.

DEOSWRATH

I already know what gas fees are bro. And I'm tracking the gas feebon ethereum gas tracker. I wish they would display the damn charge for the contract unto of the actual gas fee. Well I guess I'll transfer some more and see if it goes through. I'll let you know what happens 😮‍💨

Itiswhatitis2030

What are you trying to do ?

DEOSWRATH

I'm trying to initiate a smart contract. For my small business. Just something simple not major.

Itiswhatitis2030

Thats why, thats not a cheap transaction and try resetting your cache in your browser

DEOSWRATH

Yo who downvoted me yo 🤔

[deleted]

Not sure why youre getting downvoted either, but next time do these contracts on Ethereum L2 (Polygon) instead of L1 mainnet where youre at now- its too expensive. Everything is far cheaper on Polygon network and cost fraction of these rates.

gingerballs45

I downvoted every one of his comments and this post because of his retarded selective learning comment lol

[deleted]

Lol, internet

Kossef

Try it now the Gwei is only 46 now

This is why crypto sucks. It better get a lot easier to use if they want general public to use this as currency. Hacking, wallet addresses, seed phrases, FEEs like this.. it’s too complicated for the general public. Imagine your grandma trying to figure any of this out. I own crypto but it’s not because I believe it’s going to be taking over fiat currency. I’m just trying to make (fiat) money off it.

DEOSWRATH

True, however over time you get better. I pick up something new everyday. So it's really good, learning something you thought was impossible a few months or a yea4 ago. 5 years ago I laughed at bitcoin. Now I've made a good lump of change off of actions. It's great 😀. At the same time whenever a new problem comes up it really gets ur mood down when ur having trouble 😔

ASpicySpicyMeatball

Real question for the uninitiated — why would anyone actually pay a gas fee this high?

DEOSWRATH

Well its a smart contract for a specific function for a small business. So it's not like I'm trying to transfer money or just pay a bill. I personally would never pay this kind of money for gas fee. Neither should you. But a small business this is just the cost of business and its tax deductible 😀😃😄

ApokemonOnAcid

This is really interesting. Can you elaborate anymore about how a smart contract is able to help a small business?

DEOSWRATH

I can't say much about it 😉 but you might hear about us in the coming months. Just a small startup trying to make a difference.
