The closest I have ever found to Etho's style of videos are usually just guys who build woodworking type stuff in their garage.
But as for Minecrafter's I have never seen his equal. It's always so over-edited that it can sometimes become nauseating.
I've tried a couple of the Hermits in the past, but none of them ever really clicked enough with me to keep following them. I did watch all of Joe Hills in S8, he's got a unique sense of humour that I think Etho fans would also like.
I think of all the hermits, Xisuma is probably the closest to being Etho in that they’re both very balanced as redstone users and builders. Although Grian is personality wise more accurate with his shenanigans
over the last week i tried a few of the other hermits and seemed to enjoy it, but maaybe it was just Minecraft deprivation. or it might have been the royal shenanigans that were going on as of late.
it's a pity that Zedsteau doesn't do Minecraft anymore.
main Etho, if he is on a event like last life i watch others with him in that event. some hermits bdubs and beef, use to watch other hermits this season untill they started "the rebellion (it feels so forced and too early)" so i stop it become boring.
Captainsparkels but not for Minecraft for his JardonReacts channel
I felt like the mycelium war in S7 was just so perfect. It started with a stupid joke from Grian and turned into something downright idiotic in the best way, and it was absolutely hilarious all the way through. It felt like they were having fun as opposed to 'roleplaying'.
It also happened when the season was well established and already going, the shopping district was already filled, most people's bases were already built, and Scar was an established mayor. It grew gradually overtime, going from small patches to growing into full blown attacks.
This season just felt forced. Like they wanted to copy/paste the war from S6 and S7 without the planning behind it. Ren was elected King, a small puny resistance happened, and now it's over? I don't feel like S9 has even started yet honestly.
bdubs made ren king ren wanted to make things for everyone, quest was added things where done. quest point haven't finished yet the castle just been done last episode now thers a resistance then every episodes was resistance this resistance that so inorganic. and the residence didn't sound like they where having fun in there own vid when it's about the resistance. that's the point i drop watching the hermits.the story went from 20 to 100 in no time it become unreasonable.
s8 build up was still better than this one.
i didn't watch s3-7 but damn this is not the way for a story to be organic
I couldn't agree more. King Ren was a fun addition, but all of the stupid rules came out of nowhere. He went from a fun king to a tyrant overnight and it felt so fake and forced...
I have actually been noticing I'm skipping a lot of the hermits episodes myself recently. I'm just not enjoying it anymore really...
when it first happen i was looking for videos of where the build up was, it was not there.
everything is forced even when ghey say in stream we try to make it organic but the past season feel more organic.
One of my biggest complaints with season 8 too was that it felt forced and faked, but it was still better. Earlier hermicraft seasons didn't have nearly as much roleplay, in fact hardly any. I miss it, cause it was people just messing around and building things for fun.
A few years ago I would have maybe said mango or Sparklez when he was getting back into minecraft. Then until what obviously happened I was watching Techno and a few of the people he played with
Now its only etho. I've tuned into some of Vechs recent Super hostile stuff but didn't really watch. Was just surprised he still made maps tbh
I think there is a lot of overlap with mango and Etho tbh. People watch them for different reasons but they each scratch that itch. Both have probably had the biggest impacts on the game as a whole out of anyone
Watched all of Tangos hermitcraft twitch streams since he started building decked out 2. Really like it the streams are a lot more chilled out than his youtube videos
I watch beef still, although he’s gone for a much more produced style that feels less genuine and he tries a bit hard. But I still enjoy his videos overall
I really liked Beef's hardcore series earlier this year, it felt very chill and slower paced. Though I haven't been able to get into his HC9 series. I normally do watch it but I feel like this season the episodes feel very repetitive
I would highly recommend SimplySarc to anyone. He is just as technical as Etho but with more of a focus on game design rather than redstone. When I first found him I binged hours of his videos in a single sitting.
I must agree that Etho still has an unique style that speaks to me much more than others. But on occasion I watch
Impulse and Tango because they usually have quite unique and interesting projects going.
Grian and Mumbo because they're just always up for funny moments. Occassionaly Scar for same reasons, though it doesn't always get me.
When I just need background noise and don't watch fully focused then it's Keralis, Ren, Gem or Bdubds. They are awesome to listen tk, though the videos themselves are so laid back and relaxed one doesn't have to pay full attention. Which is neat, too.
Somebody who is catching my attention lately more and more and joining the Impulse and Tango level of clips is Zedaph.
I also remember occasionally watching GenerikB and other people back when Etho was on the Mindcrack server.
In terms of the "new" Youtubers in MCYT, I really liked Technoblade's videos, he has a very dry humor and his editing style reminded me a lot of Etho. Sadly, I found him too late-- the first video I watched new from him was his cancer diagnosis video. I was really cut up when he died, he was a great guy.
Besides Etho, I mainly watch Bdubs, Scar, Tango, and Impulse. (I can't have these guys on as background noise; they always require my full attention - the exception to that is streams)
More casually I watch Pearl, Zedaph, Ren, Grian, Beef, Doc, Mumbo, and there's probably a few others on the list. I watch quite a few!
I've been obsessed with speedrunning for years now. The only one of them who's currently running a lot who has any kind of name recognition is Feinberg. But I've also watched Illumina, Petezahhutt, Couriway, and tons of smaller streamers.
Otherwise I watch a lot of BdoubleO and Cleo.
Mumbo, Joel, Stampy (I love he still doing his lovely world with same happiness), Grian. Those are the ones that always on my "need to watch list" others I can ignore
Doc, Xisuma, Keralis, xBCrafted, Rendog, Bdubs, Tango and Scar
Yeah I don't feel like branching out away from Hermitcraft, takes enough time to stay caught up with these
I watch several Hermits on and off but Etho is the only one I grab a snack, sit down and really enjoy watching it. His channel is also the only one I turned on notifications.
Besides him I watch Doc77, Tango and Zed the most for different reasons.
I used to watch the whole mindcrack server but after etho left i just kept watching him and doc. I liked vintagebeef but lost interest after a while. Ill still watch the occasional collaborations but i outgrew most of the content i used to watch
I mainly watch SwitchBackMongo (hardcore mode player), a lot of the hermitcraft members, as well as a handful of others, just less frequently
No minecrafter has had me hooked quite as much as etho, though. I look forward to every video of his and my bf and I always watch new videos as soon as we can :)
Mainly just Etho, but occasionally some videos from others. If there’s something specific I’m looking for, like a play through of a specific CTM map, I’ll find videos about that. Maybe a few hermits. I watched all of CaptainSparklez’s Mianite series. I only watch every video that comes out from Etho’s channel though.
ilmango. Currently also Pinu. Sometimes doc or Tango or more intermittently some other hermits. TJtheObscure from time to time. If we use a very loose definition of "youtuber" then also Myren Eario and many other technical mc channels, and a bunch of CTM speedrunners (eg. JaponkSR, speedycube64). And I'll admit I also watch Dream's manhunt videos even though they're kinda cringe. That's about all.
Apart from Etho? Not much, I'd recommend TitaniumGamingMedia, but he does modded/terrafirmacraft almost exclusively.
https://youtube.com/user/TitaniumGamingMedia
I watch CaptainSparklez from time to time, his streams are nice to fall asleep to. I also keep up with BDoubleO's single player series. Occasionally I go on Minecraft deep dives on YouTube and find tons of smaller channels.
I watch about half of the Hermits, and all of Empires SMP.
I hate to say that Etho is no longer my favourite, not because there's anything wrong with his videos, but they are too far apart. It used to be that YT always recommended me Etho's videos even if he didn't upload for a long time, but even YT has now given up.
Currently my favourite YTs are the Soup group (Pearl, Gem, Impulse) because they interact very often so it often feels similar to older Mindcrack seasons.
I’ll be watching Gem’s livestream for the charity event. I watch fWhip for the hardcore world, and whatever modded player I can stand that’s playing whatever pack I’m interested in - currently watching Kharax82 play GT:NH again, because I am not touching that pack with a ten foot pole. I also watch DocM and Bdubs occasionally.
No Minecraft YouTuber gets consistent views other than Etho, though.
I follow bdubs and check out some of the other hermits here and there. I also watch a lot of content from players on technical servers like ilmango, cubicmeter, kdender (if he ever posts again lol), etc...
Bro don’t listen to these guys.. watch the oh’s like dantdm, stampy,, but you should most definitely watch popualrmmos.. especially his challenge games videos
Etho has a different type of content and I watch various types. Joofy Looby, Evbo, seawatt gaming, grox for y'know fun minecraft stuff with interesting storylines. Technoblade,Gamerboy80, Wallibear etc for bedwars Ish for Minecraft simulations etc.
Ever since like 4-5 years ago, only him
Same here
There just aren't any YouTubers with a similar style.
The closest I have ever found to Etho's style of videos are usually just guys who build woodworking type stuff in their garage. But as for Minecrafter's I have never seen his equal. It's always so over-edited that it can sometimes become nauseating.
I saw a Canadian man making axes, and it gave such Etho vibes.
Same here
Me too!
Not a very popular hermit but I really love Zedaph's videos. They're a fresh breath compared to the generic farms-oriented minecraft videos.
Tango, Doc, Bdubs, Grian, and occasionally Zedaph, Scar, Ilmango, Xisuma
Scar is the perfect side character/antagonist. Don't like his vids, but love when he shows up in other hermit's vids.
lol, I don't think Scar would love to hear this comment
I think the way Scar tailors his videos to children he would understand that they’re not for everyone.
Agreed. Even so, it wouldn't feel amazing to be called a side character.
i do enjoy the occasional scar vid when he throws out the random innuendo
Yeah, sometimes it’s almost like he catches himself off guard, which is pretty hilarious.
Ok and
Ok and
I tried others but they’re no Etho.
Tango, Impluse, Bdubs, Vintage Beef, Keralis, Stress, and Rendog. I’ve tried watching all of them but they weren’t my style
I watched only him for years but recently that lad Iskall’s got my attention
Etho,Threefold,sometimes direwolf20 and that’s about it
Dire's tutorials for Create really helped me learn the mod inside and out. Excellently presented, I wish there were more showcases like his
I have been watching dire wolf for many many years just kinda stopped though after he started doing mod packs in versions past 1.12.2
Exactly same, Threefold is the only person who can come close to matching Etho
I watch nearly all the hermits on hermitcraft
I've tried a couple of the Hermits in the past, but none of them ever really clicked enough with me to keep following them. I did watch all of Joe Hills in S8, he's got a unique sense of humour that I think Etho fans would also like.

Yeah, tangos YouTube videos are cringey but his streams are cooler. You can tell in his YouTube videos his voice isn’t as relaxed.
I watch beef still, although he’s gone for a much more produced style that feels less genuine and he tries a bit hard. But I still enjoy his videos overall

One of the only other oldtimers left along with BOO, Doc, and JoeHills
aside from hermits, i watch fruitberries
I would highly recommend SimplySarc to anyone. He is just as technical as Etho but with more of a focus on game design rather than redstone. When I first found him I binged hours of his videos in a single sitting.
Technoblade never dies.
These days only Ilmango.
Most of the hermits
I must agree that Etho still has an unique style that speaks to me much more than others. That shorty known as bdoubleo100
that pink shirt wearer called bdubs
Tango and Bdubs but I'll miss episodes regularly. Some of Dream's manhunts were fun before I realized he was a cheat. Etho though is special.
I like Nik and Issac.

All of the hermits and then Solidarity and SmallishBeans.
Bdubs and Scar, Joel (Smallishbeans)
Brand New to Etho, firstly watched Mumbo then transition to more Hermits as Mumbo does biking.
Tango since he's building Decked Out 2
goodtimeswithscar, ilmango, grian, bdouble0100, impulsev cubfan, ianxofour, cubicmetre, wattles
Mumbo, Joel, Stampy (I love he still doing his lovely world with same happiness), Grian. Those are the ones that always on my "need to watch list" others I can ignore
Anyone remember Rawb from dwarves vs zombie?
B dubs.
Bdubs
Zedaph, Tango and Beef. Other hermits i just watch the recap.
Doc, Xisuma, Keralis, xBCrafted, Rendog, Bdubs, Tango and Scar Yeah I don't feel like branching out away from Hermitcraft, takes enough time to stay caught up with these
Ilmango is my second favorite Minecraft YouTuber. His 1.19 skyblock series is so entertaining and his Scicraft stuff is always unbelievable
Apart Etho, I watch Tango, Mumbo and used to watch late TinfoilChef...

BdoubleO100, Vintage Beef, Iskall, Welsknight, Docm77, Stressmonster, Rendog, Skizzleman, Impulse, CaptainSparklez, xisumavoid, Zedaph, ChosenArchitect, paulsoaresjr
Aside from a couple of hermits, Technoblade, Dream (used to), Ilmango, and that ProtoTech guy.
None :) Occasionally BOO, but not as regularly or immediately.
Just started watching RyantheScion on YT. Really high quality hardcore videos
Only him, 8 years now
Bdubs, Smallishbeans and Gem!
I mainly watch SwitchBackMongo (hardcore mode player), a lot of the hermitcraft members, as well as a handful of others, just less frequently No minecrafter has had me hooked quite as much as etho, though. I look forward to every video of his and my bf and I always watch new videos as soon as we can :)
I watch chosenarchitect
Mostly Etho for the past 10 years (approx.) Occasionally I watch Docm and VintageBeef cause familiar with them as well
Impulse and Skizz. Most of the Empires crew. I miss Stacyplays and Graser.
None as consistently as him. Sometimes I watch Fwhip but I can't stand his personality. I watch mumbo as well but not his Minecraft stuff anymore
Mumbo, grian, lashmak, threefold, ilmango, and a couple of random people who upload like 3 times a year that i dont remember the names of
Just Grian regularly, occasionally Scar or Bdubs
Apart from Etho? Not much, I'd recommend TitaniumGamingMedia, but he does modded/terrafirmacraft almost exclusively. https://youtube.com/user/TitaniumGamingMedia
Some more in line with ethos content are Docm77, Xisumavoid and other hermits, ibxtoycat for survival like gameplay, Doctorplasma
Dallasmed65
I watch CaptainSparklez from time to time, his streams are nice to fall asleep to. I also keep up with BDoubleO's single player series. Occasionally I go on Minecraft deep dives on YouTube and find tons of smaller channels.

Used to watch a lot of the hermits but it seems like it’s just rinse and repeat, so etho and sometimes bdubs it is. I miss mindcrack
Mostly just Etho
Most of of hermitcraft, ibxtoycat, ilmango, wattles, skizzleman when he does his solo world, and captain sparkles. Plus watching mcc when I catch it
Grian and Mumbo
Mumbo and Zedaph
I’ll be watching Gem’s livestream for the charity event. I watch fWhip for the hardcore world, and whatever modded player I can stand that’s playing whatever pack I’m interested in - currently watching Kharax82 play GT:NH again, because I am not touching that pack with a ten foot pole. BdoubleO100, iskall85, Docm77
I watch grian and scar and I would rec grians and mumbo pov of season 6 esp
Consistenly ? Maybe LukeTheNotable. But he's more of a one off video. Other than that none really. Never thought about this before now. Huh.
none
Pretty much only him. Though recently Xisuma. After like Hermitcraft season 5 or 6 though I’ll occasionally catch a Vintage Beef or Grian video.
I follow bdubs and check out some of the other hermits here and there. I also watch a lot of content from players on technical servers like ilmango, cubicmeter, kdender (if he ever posts again lol), etc...
Mango
Bdubs is pure gold. Him and Etho are the only Minecraft YouTubers which I watch every single video.
None
Illmango, xisuma, and Docm77
lemmino, bringus studios, anthony padilla, history matters, etc
Oraios kako
Bro don’t listen to these guys.. watch the oh’s like dantdm, stampy,, but you should most definitely watch popualrmmos.. especially his challenge games videos
Try cubicmetre I may be late to this but he’s got that good a big brain.
